    From Steve Kim on Maxboxing....

    NO JOY

There was a lot of talk about friction in Hatton's camp that centered on Floyd Mayweather Sr. and his inability to get along with the rest of the camp. What I found very interesting - and disturbing to be honest with you - was that after the fight as I moved my way along press row to the aisle where the fighters make their way back to the dressing rooms, while Hatton groggily walked to the bowels of the arena, he was not accompanied by Mayweather Sr.

In fact, Mayweather Sr. wouldn't make his way for another 10 minutes or so. And as he did, he was taking pictures, signing autographs and smiling the whole way as if he didn't have a care in the world. Is this the way someone should conduct themselves after their fighter was savagely knocked out? And no matter what he says, he was in that corner and in fact was introduced by Michael Buffer, in a first. You may have had disagreements with Hatton and his team in the lead-up to that fight, but doesn't he deserve more respect than that?

If he was so willing to accept all the plaudits for his fighter’s victory and then call out Freddie 'the Joke Coach' Roach (as he calls him), then shouldn't he be willing to accept at least some accountability for what took place on Saturday night? I happen to get along with Floyd Sr., but in this instance he was completely out of line. As they say, when you point fingers, three of them come right back at you.

I always thought that this was a rather strange union, Hatton and Mayweather. Not only from a stylistic perspective of boxing, but also from a personality standpoint. And was it just me, or did anyone find it a bit strange and unsettling that on 24/7 that Mayweather had no problems in making a 'run for the border' and grabbing some Taco Bell and being tardy for his training session with Hatton? If he would do that while the cameras were on him, just how many times was he late before and after?

I was told that Oscar De La Hoya was infuriated by the results of the fight and had some harsh words for Mayweather Sr. afterwards in the dressing room.

Why was DLH angry after the fight? He knows how strong and fast Pacquaio is. He can't put sh*t on Mayweather Sr. Hatton only has one style, he can't change what he is.

very interesting Antwun, especially about dlh being furious.... dlh really wanted Hatton to win because he thought it would confirm that he was weight drained or well passed his prime when he faced pac. the fact that pac won in that manner will prove to some that dlh wasnt too far removed from his prime. in reality you wouldnt expect hatton to do better against an opponent dlh lost to.

    probably?... he would.

DLH defence was still solid when he stopped throwing punches against pac, pac wasnt even close to knocking him down let alone out.

Gotta Admit, it IS Kinda SHITTY that Floyd was NOWHERE to B Found...Even as Hatton was Laid Out on the Canvas, Floyd Sr. was Strangely ABSENT...N REED's Opinion, a Trainer is RESPONSIBLE for his Fighter Until he's Back in the Locker Room...Floyd's TOP Priority Should've Been Ricky Hatton...

Nothing strange or unexpected about it. The guys an utterly classless degenerate scumbag. Lowest of the low. His first thought was probably 'ooha that Euro sucka got KOd real bad.....I better not be seen or photographed with that cracka, Im way too great & pretty to be associated with with this shit'.

Except obviously the word 'associated' wouldn't have been in there, being 5 syllables and all.

Exactly. It's situations like this (ie his behaviour post fight) that tells you whether or not someone really is an arsehole, or part of it is just an act.

Well it's clear that Floyd Sr is just an utter cunt, and it's not really that hard to see why Floyd Jr is the way he is.

The only one I don't mind is Roger, he's just a funny mutha.

Come on Reed. Sr don't give a sh*t about Hatton. All that crap on 24/7 was just for tv. Sr doesn't even rate Hatton's boxing technique. I ain't ever seen a worse match than Sr and Hatton. Two totally different people with very different ideas of boxing.
It was all just a big hypefest.

Floyd, Roger & Junior are all brain dead scum. As I said there's no combination so noxious as a sub 85 IQ and that kind of arrogance & narcissism. Jeff always seemed pretty cool though....I'm assuming a milk man was involved.

    & That's All Fine & Dandy, Hanz...

But The Thing is, Floyd was PAID to B There & Since he Walked TO The Ring as Part of Hatton's Camp, he Should've @ Least Been in the MIDST of Guys Tending to him as he Lay there on the Canvas (w/All those White Cats Around, Floyd's Black Ass would've DEFINITELY Stood Out, if he was There) & he DEFINITELY Should've Been Part of Hatton's Camp Walking FROM the Ring...

That was Some Don King Shit Right There, to a Lesser Extreme...Walk TO the Ring w/Joe Frazier, Leave him HANGING After George Foreman Whips his Ass...The Fighter-Trainer Relationship is a TEAM Deal or @ Least it's Supposed to B...N that Regard, Floyd Sr. DEFINITELY Left Hatton HANGING...

I agree with everything you say. I'm just reminding you of what type of person Sr is based on what we know about him after all these years. There's a reason why his son threw his ass out of his house.

It was mentioned on another thread that Sr said to hatton after round 1:

"You should have listened to me from day one."

That also doesn't bode very well for a trainer. It means either Sr didn't have a hold of the camp or that by saying that, he was saying it wasn't his fault Ricky was being tagged. In either case, Sr doesn't win the humanitarian award.

That's called, "I'm covering my own ass."

But he was right. Just before the first knockdown you'll see Hatton miss a punch and square up to Manny...manny caught him with a huge straight left and right hook which put Ricky on his heels. I thought Ricky was stunned then...then Ricky threw that wide ass left that got countered.

Also, before the KO...you'll see Manny feint a right hook upstairs and land it hard to the body. Also landed a straight left to the belly. Both shots hurt Hatton and lowered his hands...maybe 20 seconds later...lights out.

In fact, Mayweather Sr. wouldn't make his way for another 10 minutes or so. And as he did, he was taking pictures, signing autographs and smiling the whole way as if he didn't have a care in the world. You may have had disagreements with Hatton and his team in the lead-up to that fight, but doesn't he deserve more respect than that?

Unless Mayweather was specfically told (for whatever reason) to not come to the dressing room right away that's about classless as it gets.

Your fighters gets brutally knocked out, might have a serious injury and you stand around smiling and signing autographs?

It was pretty obvious that the whole Floyd in Hatton's corner thing was just for the camera's, and he didn't care a shit in the world about Hatton.
