Wrestling and hugging isn't what blackened both of Tszyu's eyes, busted his jaw, and made him retire in his corner.

Before the fight Tszyu said he welcomed Ricky trying to get physical with him inside and hoped Hatton stood right in front of him. He got his wish.

So you dont think 75% of the fight was wrestling and hugging?

The hugging isn't what split both of Tszyu's testicles in half, Godfather. :nono:

Hatton was fresher back then, and Manny isnt a 35 yr old, semi-retired Tszyu.

As for this thread. Hatton knew who he was getting when he hired Floyd. Do you think Hatton actually wanted to see Floyds black ass in his dressing room after the fight anyway?

If Hatton wanted a trainer who would hold and caress him and tell him everything would be ok after a loss he would have kept the drunken trainer he already had. He knew who he was hiring and we knew who he was hiring so why is everyone so surprised and why all the feigned outrage?

who the fuck is lee beard?

    from BBC sport:

Meanwhile, the Hatton camp moved to play down talk of a rift between American trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr and English assistant trainer Lee Beard, which was raised as a possible contributory factor to the defeat.

Mayweather Sr appeared at the post-fight press conference but only briefly, and he did not sit on the chairs and take questions alongside Beard and Hatton Promotions chief executive Gareth Williams.

"Lee's a lot more involved with Ricky Hatton than Floyd Mayweather is," Williams added. "Floyd Mayweather was brought in for 12 weeks to do a job, and that's the end of it.

"He's finished now and we don't know what's going to happen. Lee Beard's with Hatton Promotions 365 days a year, Floyd Mayweather's there for 12 weeks before a fight, and that's the difference.

"Probably the best way to describe Floyd is that he's on board as a consultant. He doesn't control Ricky Hatton, he doesn't speak for Ricky Hatton, he speaks for Floyd Mayweather."

Let me refresh your memory on what was said.

Hanzy said that DLH should not be pissed because Hatton only knows one style of fighting and he can't change.

I'm guessing that Hanzy could nto tell that the style used on Saturday is NOT how he used to fight and also not how most people thought he should fight. Whether or not he'd be successful with the old style isn't the point. What Hanzy said was ridiculous.

zzzzzz...it's amazing how super heavyweights have dominated the division. Except 'they' haven't. Wlad is a great fighter.

A lot of the big trainers try to save face but what Floyd Sr. did was inexcusable. He never cared about the fight. Everytime he talked on 24/7 it was about him or it was about him vs. Freddie Roach.

I remember Manny Steward after Hamed lost to Barrera came back to HBO and blamed Riath Hamed for picking the wrong opponent. He said HBO gave them a choice, Barrera or Morales and Riath picked Barrera thinking he was the weaker foe. But of course Manny knew all along that Barrera was the stronger fighter and it was going to be all downhill from there.

Where did I say he dominated anything? I said he wins most of his fights because he's bigger than his opponents. The guy isn't tough, and isn't that technically superior to his opposition and that is evident in the very fact that he doesn't dominate. If he was so good his size would make him dominate, but because he is about as good as the competition he faces, his size makes him better than they are.

Also don't try to defend and tell me he is great. What great fighter has Wlad even fought to earn that mantle? Meanwhile losses to Corey Sanders, Ross Purity, and Lamon Brewster aren't exactly the stuff of legend, but hey I guess I'm just being unfair. Man you fanboys are something else.

I'm not much of a hatton fan anymore, but I can't help but feel sorry for him too.

Like you said, Hatton was truly the easier to beat of all the world class fighters Pacman has faced, despite being the SECOND BIGGEST

It doesn't mean he's that much worse than the rest, it's just that Hatton's tendency to run into punches was disastrous against someone with such insane speed and power as Pacman.
