No he can't. As soon as Floyd laces them up, Pac is no longer the best active fighter, fuk a resume.

Bama, I have 500.00 that says Floyd beats Pac if they ever fight. Now if Manny is the greatest fighter since Leonard, you should jump all over that.

I don't think anyone is gonna take you up on that offer Tex, haha, too close of a fight right there.
And it all depends on how he looks against Marquez.

In terms of skills AND resume, because lets be honest, all resume's can be broke down.

I'm not going to try and turn this into a mythical matchups thread, but do you think at their peaks, p4p, and just for arguement's sake, does Pac beat Pea?

And I think other fighters beat Pac also and that's why I don't believe he's the greatest fighter since Leonard. He may not be the greatest fighter right now.

It's obvious to me Jaws is a big fan and it's hard not to be. But these type of statements are going to cause people to hate on Manny, e.g. Tito at the old secoundsout board.

    I'm a fan of Pacquiao's, but who couldn't be?

Regardless of how I feel about him, he has been DOMINANT in an unprecedented fashion while moving up in weight. His resume speaks for itself, you can poke holes into anyone's accomplishments, but at the end of the day Manny was a guy who may have beaten the careers out of more HOF guys than anyone else.

Certainly nobody since Leonard has had this many high profile wins.

If Pac retired today nobody could say shit. He fought the best guys at feather and super feather. Jumps to 135 and takes out Diaz - then has the balls to fight Oscar at 145 and destroys him. Next up was Ricky Hatton a guy who dominated the light welter division and we all know what happened in that fight.

I'd love to see Pac V Floyd, but that bitch will want the fight at 147. How much more can Manny give.
He has no business fighting at 147 but the dude is that good and has the ability to carry his power up through the divisions I wouldn't put it past him taking Floyds 0.

It's Pretty Hard to HATE on Manny Pac...

Dude BEGAN @ 106, Won his 1st Title @ 112 & has Been Taking Names & WHIPPING Ass Virtually EVERY Step of the Way Since...REED Actually PICKED Pac to BEAT Barrera (which Bigdawg can VERIFY) & Only Picked AGAINST him N the 1st RE w/Morales & the Dela Fight...

Nonetheless, Dude has Been GIVING AWAY Size for GOD Know's HOWfuckingLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG Now...Resume AND the Size DISCREPANCY that he's Overcome Places Manny in the ALL-TIME Top 10-20 ALREADY...& If he BEATS Floyd, we're Talking Top 5-10 Material...

He has been dominant. But you can't just glance at someone's resume and say he's this and he's that.

To make statements that you have made, people are going to look a lot deeper into all these fantastic names on his resumes and see the things that I see, that is all.

Do you think Manny's record would be the same as it is today, if he had fought MAB, Morales, Hatton, DLH, 4 or 5 yrs before they occured?

That's all I want you to answer.

As Vince McMahon would say "No chance in Hell" he beats Oscar at 147 5 years ago - that is just ridiculous. MAB and Morales pickems IMO and I think he beats Hatton 5 years ago, 10 years ago, 5 mins ago you name it Ricky is taking a nap.

Seein how Pacman was at 112 pounds 5 years before he fought Barrera the first time and Barrera at 122 and just coming off a loss to Junior Jones...I mean...eh...not really something to talk about...
And DLH at 147...yeah I pick him to win and Morales...well he did already beat him once near the end of his career so.....

But clear thing here though...Pacman is ten times better than what he was...5 years back...you need to take that into consideration.

He was a malnourished teenager when he began Reed, he even admits to this.

The facts are that Manny would not be the Manny we know had he fought his big name fighters 4 or 5 yrs before they occured. Manny may have lost all those fights. Manny was entering his prime vs MAB 1, Manny hasn't fought anyone entering or at the pinnacle of their prime since with the exception of Marquez.

Too much emphasis on size descrepancy. That started fading away at 122. You think Manny can make 126 right now? Dude is a legit light welterweight, didn't look so small vs Hatton and actually weighed more than DLH on fight night.

I'm a fan. But to specify that Manny Pacquiao is, say, already "top 10-15" or "top 15-20" kinda tends to open up a can of worms. Not to mention some measure of resistance and skepticism. Well, maybe not when his career is finally over, but presently, it does. And it's something that is normal.

I suspect Pacman will be at that tier (if he already isn't---though I don't really feel burdened with the need to constantly say it out) or even higher when his fighting days are done, but right now I think it's best if we just generalize what level Manny Pacquiao is at.

He's an all-time great already, that much we can say for certain.

Speaking of his journey through weight classes, Manny Pacquiao is incredible because barely a decade ago, if somebody said to me he's a potential top tier all-timer, I would've laughed. Hard. It's preposterous. It's different for guys like, say, Floyd Jr, Shane, Roy... because if you see fighters like them early in their careers and you have discerning eyes, it's not difficult to get an inkling of how good they are, how good they can even get and what heights they could possibly achieve in the future.

With Manny Pacquiao no such thing existed. At least for me.

    The guy was crude.

Ten years ago my ambition for Pacman was for him to defeat Bones Adams and Paulie Ayala. That's it. I remember thinking of these guys as his litmus tests and that if Manny beat them, then it'd be good enough.

Ten years and multiple weight classes later, he's fought guys like Barrera, Morales, Marquez, DLH (even a past prime at that), Hatton, and, is already in a position to be regarded as one of the greatest ever.

For a guy who, imo, against all odds, has defied puritan conceptions on what makes a generational p4p fighter (i'm largely referring to modern descendants of the Robinson archetype---Leonard, Whitaker, Roy Jones, Hopkins, Mayweather, and, to an extent, even Mosley, Trinidad and DLH who all became p4p #1---a standard by which I understand is part of the reason why Pacman struggle for respect and is still criticized for having deficiencies in skill and fighting aesthetics), what he's done is nothing short of mindboggling.

His story is Duran'esque in character. Maybe even moreso since Duran in his early days exhibited greater promise and was definitely better than Pacquiao was in his. And yet still... Pacman, for all his faults and limitations, has not only delivered, never disappointed, but met (and wildly surpassed) all expectations... putting himself in a position to be on the same (or even higher) tier as Duran.

    Like I said, it's mindboggling.

RE-Watch the 1st Pac-Barrera Bout...Barrera was BIGGER than Manny that Night...U CAN'T Fault Manny for his Maturation Process...It's NOT Like he Conveniently Decided to Grow when he Saw Chinks in Barrera's Armor...Barrera was a BEAST @ the Time that Pac 1st Fought him...

Morales Absolutely DWARFED Pac in ALL of their Fights...Hatton was CLEARLY Bigger...& THE ONLY Reason Pac Outweighed Dela is Because Dela was DUMB Enough to Come N Soooooooo LIGHT...DESPITE the Official Weights, who was the BIGGER Man that Night???...

REED Doesn't Think we Can EmphaSIZE the DISCREPANCY in Size Enough...Manny's a LITTLE Dude, Dog...Probably a "Natural" LIGHTWEIGHT @ this Point...The AVERAGE American FEMALE is Probably Bigger...Shit, REED's Teen Aged Daughter is a TAD LIGHTER in Weight, yet TALLER than Manny Pac...

We're bitching about Pac already? Because he said he wants to retire?

Seriously, this guy has been amazing lately, if he retires after his next fight then good luck to him. He's proven enough.

No I'm serious dude. You said you just lost your job.

How do I know you'll even pay instead of just running away when you lose?

You think I'm worried about 500.00? There is nothing in my home with the brand name Vizio on it.

YOU on the other hand have had instances of running away. I'm not worried about you running away because of the money, it would be because your hero lost. You left in shame in the past. Who should be worried?

I don't post as much as I did back in the secondsout days, but I've always been around.

Now go ask Jenn if you can make the bet.

No one cares about anything in your home. Why would the LA Times or any major newspaper interview you? No one cares what you think.

Oh, your bragging about being in the paper?

Why would any major newspaper interview me? I don't know, maybe because I've saved lives, witnessed murders, been in the middle of riots, prevented criminals from escaping so they wouldn't hurt Jenn and take your Vizio T.V.:dunno:

Your life's work will always be a pile of :shit: compared to mine.:atu:

TexMex, you think you're some sort of tough guy?

Would you ever stare at those criminals face to face without 20 guys behind you, your baton, and taser gun?
