:crying: Everytime Hatton gets knocked out he hires the other guys trainer...Hatton is a delusional tool who is on his way to being a brain damaged vegetable.
In a surprising development, Ricky Hatton has reportedly picked boxing trainer Freddie Roach as his new coach according to Web site RingTalk.com. “That’s right! The man that trained Manny Pacquiao, who destroyed Hatton in two rounds a month ago for the world 140 lb. championship, he will now train the lad from Manchester, UK,†said the article by Ring Talk News. Hatton has reportedly parted ways with trash-talking Floyd Mayweather Sr., who has had differences with the Brit’s camp shortly before his May 2 fight with top pound-for-pound king Pacquiao. His rift with Mayweather Sr. has reportedly contributed to his loss to Pacquiao, who jarred the Manchester native with a perfect left hook to the jaw. The stunning loss has prompted several analysts and even Mayweather to urge the British fighter to retire. Mayweather Sr., however, blamed Hatton for the loss, saying that “he did not stick to their fight plan.†In hiring his opponent’s trainer, Hatton has apparently acknowledged Roach’s credentials. This includes Pacquiao’s development into what has been described as "a complete fighter." According to RingTalk.com, the formal announcement will take place "in the coming weeks."
I dont have a problem with this. Hatton is dedicated to his craft and is trying to find what works. He realizes he needs improvement, and is willing to find someone who can help him. My only problem with this, is roach. Does he beleive that Hatton has the goods? Would he train him if he didnt.
i wanted to see him retire.....not a surprise that he has gone to roach, this was rumoured to be happening regardless of the result, before Hatton-Pacquaio. I don't know what Hatton's goals are....even with a couple of solid wins at 140, as long as Manny is around, #2 would be the best he could hope for. And at 147, he's just not as effective. Hatton/Pacquaio/Khan should make for some good sparring sessions though
:shit: So Basically, EVERYTIME Hatton Loses a Fight, it's the TRAINERS Fault????...Hatton was CONVINCED that Imposing Himself Upon Pac was the Right Tactic to Use & Even if he had Roach, Eddie Futch, Manny Steward & Georgie Benton ALL in his Corner that Night, NONE of that would've Prevented Manny Pac from STRETCHING his Ass... Shit, Floyd Sr. Actually GAVE Hatton SOUND Advice btwn the 1st & 2nd Rounds... REED:hammert:
Roach > any of the Mayweather trainers... Good move by Hatton....he isn't shot..he just isn't very good at the elite level....he needs roach to tweak the skills he already possess and show him a few more tricks...
@ WHAT Point Does a Trainer Stretch Himself Toooooooooo THIN???... Btwn Roach & Buddy McGuirt, they Train 75% of ALL Professional Boxers it Seems::...Seriously, Roach MUST Train Anywhere from 10-15 HIGH PROFILE Fighters these Days...@ Some Point, Fights & Training Sessions will OVERLAP & Guys WON'T Get the QUALITY of Work that they're Paying For... REED:hammert:
Agree. Especially with McGirt. Sometimes I wonder if he just shows up for the TV interview with his corncob pipe and then walks into a guys corner just before the fight............never having seen that guy before.
Hatton can hire whoever he wants. Its too late in his career for him to go from a skilless brawler, to a skilled boxer. To be quite honest with you... I dont think Hatton has the natural ability to become a skilled boxer. It takes a certain coordination, and defensive refexes that Hatton doesnt have. Ricky is not the fighter he once was, and his style is that suited for a young man. Ricky is no longer young, and he'll NEVER regain the form he had 4 years ago. Can he beat chinless Khan? Maybe. But I think a Victor Ortiz would destroy him at this point.
Hatton doesn't need to become a boxer to enjoy success at the top level. He only needs a big win. And that big win can come doing what he does. Some fight fans project. Just because you lose to a fighter doesn't mean you can't win a rematch. It's boxing. Shit happens. As far as blaming anyone for the Pacquiao loss. I know who I blame--Pacquiao and no one else. He hurt Hatton and he followed up.
Quitter attitude. Unlikely that Hatton would have enjoyed the success he has with anything close to this mentality.
Hatton is a fucking bum and he's looking he had any success. Dude should hang up the gloves or never leave England. cupey
:laughing: Anyway, I don't get why everyone is saying Hatton should retire. The dude has 2 measly loses and only one of them he was dominated in. Jeez, if fighters followed you guys' game plan Mosley would have retired after the 2nd Winky Wright fight. Hatton isn't even that old, and can still make a lot of money and more than likely even become a belt holder if not a champion again. I say kudos to the guy for hopping right back on the horse and trying to tackle the biggest problem he's always had. A lack of fundamentals.
So U HONESTLY Give Hatton Even a REMOTE Chance of Beating Floyd &/or Pac in a RE???...Here's where that Contrarian BULLSHIT Bites YOU in the Ass, Dude... @ SOME Point, Trying your Best to B "Different" Only Makes U Look STUPID... REED:boohoo:
He Got his Ass ROASTED by the 2 BEST Guys he's EVER Faced...U Make it Seem like Hatton BARELY Lost & Actually can IMPROVE Upon those Losses.... REED:boohoo:
If Hatton had Jesus Christ in his corner he was still getting stretched. And there is no way he is going to change his style at this point in his career. His style and living habits are catching up with him - he can't take the shots like he used to. In saying that, there is nothing wrong with the dude wanting to have one more fight so he can retire with a W. Maybe against Marquez Jnr ::
Of course I do. Shit happens at the world class level and if you haven't seen a fighter come back and beat a fighter who previously whipped his ass, you haven't watched much boxing or participated in one-on-one sports.
...apparently it's all BS: http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/06/04/09/roach-will-not-train-ricky—team-hatton
I figured this would would happen, because after the fight Roach was saying how he knows Hatton very well from watching months of tape.. and Roach actually broke down things that Hatton does wrong.. I bet Roach can help him.
Nevermind, .. Hatton should either retire, or stick to fighting in the UK where they let him mug people in the ring.
No trainer in the world can turn Hatton's career around at this point. The guy flat out doesn't know how to box. How he beat Tszyu, even an old Tszyu and in Manchester, is beyond me. I will say this though; once upon a time Roach was a fighter who went balls to the walls when he'd get hit, and lots of times he'd lost as a result. Later in his career, he learned to be more patient and not let his emotions get the best of him. That's a lesson I think Hatton could learn. But the different is Roach knew how to box. Hatton doesn't.
Name an Instance where a 1 Dimensional Fighter, w/PISS POOR Out-of-the-Ring Habits, REVERSED 2 DECISIVE KO LOSSES???....Since U're Apparently the Fucking EXPERT on Watching Boxing & 1-on-1 Sports Participation, This Should B an EASY Question for YOU to Answer... REED is Holding his Breath in Anticipation... REED:shit:
Lennox Lewis, Terry Norris, Oscar Larios, Tommy Hearns, Wladimir Klitschko, Humberto Gonzalez, Willie Pep, Roberto Duran, Junior Jones It's not so much that I'm an expert; only that you apparently aren't. If you would like, you could refine your request even further...right down to red headed, 140 lb Brits. My point was that big losses by KO do not necessarily indicate the fighter doesn't have a lot left.
WHO did Hearns AVENGE a KO Loss Against???...F.Y.I., the Leonard RE was Recorded as a DRAW & it Happened Damn Near 10 YEARS Later...WHO did Roberto Duran AVENGE a KO Loss Against???...WHO did Junior Jones AVENGE a KO LOSS Against???... MORESO, who Did the MAJORITY of the Guys U Named Avenge 2 KO LOSSES Against???...Lennox Lewis is THE ONLY Guy that Your RIDICULOUS "Point" Applies To, Even Though he NEVER Had the "PISS POOR" Out of Ring Habits that Hatton Had & Lennox is the RARE Case of a Fighter that Actually IMPROVED After the Age of 30... So OTHER than your PATHETIC, Contrarian BULLSHIT, there's Absolutely NATHAN about Ricky Hatton that Suggests he can IMPROVE After the Age of 30...Again, he Got his Ass ROASTED by a NOTICEABLY SMALLER Man...EASILY... Apparently REED "Isn't an Expert"???...O.K., Well, Apparently REED ISN'T as STARVED for Attention as YOU R Either... REED:boohoo:
