On B.A.D.... I'm surprised HBO would give Paulie another shot after the disgraceful non-performance against Flattened. But I guess they wanna bring thier Golden Boy Diaz back with a win. My guess... Diaz beats the hell outta Paulie, then they feed the Baby Cow to Victor Ortiz.

the amount of playdough in these two combatants fists could keep pre schools from portland to pensacola well supplied for years.

You n me both Neil. It'll happen too. And it makes sense. If Ortiz gets passed Maidana, and Diaz beats Paulie... I have a good hunch they'll be matched. And I fully expected Ortiz to destroy the Cow.

Diaz shouldn't really be fighting anywhere but lightweight.....they are giving him a name opponent, but it won't make for an attractive fight.....there are plenty of more exciting fights for Diaz to be having at 135

diaz would be better off waiting for pacquiao to get beat up by mayweather jr or cotto, then hope he can get the call as a comeback opponent. way more money for inevitable knockout loss. you reading, smegman?

Well if Hatton doesnt retire... theres always the possibility of Hatton-Diaz.

Putting him in with Manny would just be toooooo fuckin criminal.

well, we haven't seen anyone push Valero back yet. Valero hasn't proven himself as an elite figher just yet. Besides Valero, 135 is a deep division....certainly more exciting match ups to be made than Diaz-Mallignaggi

HBO like their name opponents and are content to compromise the quality of the fight for the sake of the casual viewer's ignorance.....remember they passed up on Froch-Taylor

I think X has the right side here.

Where Victor Ortizs' name came up..that fight will not happen.

Diaz has been wanting to fight Ricky for several years now, but Hatton's folks balked at the fight, asking for unreasonable amounts of money, even when Juan was willing to fight him in Manchester and take the short end..but not that ridiculously low sum Hatton's people offered.

Agreed. I thought one of the HBO cast members even said something to that effect.

This is a pointless matchup anyway.

I seriously doubt that Hatton would balk at any fight involving Diaz. Especially when Diaz was undefeated and had a belt. Since Hatton split from Warren his overall comp hasn't been bad overall. I don't see how this fight wouldn't have happen. I do remember Diaz wanting to fight Erik Morales so I'll assume you're just making this up to make Juan look better.

HBO is trying to build up Ortiz as the next Mexican superstar. Its highly probable that if Ortiz beats Maidana, and Diaz beats Paulie, that HBO will push for Ortiz-Diaz. Its only a question of whether Diaz's people would be willing to sacrifice Juan to Ortiz. Cause theres no doubt in my mind that Ortiz would stop Diaz, its only a question of which round.

And I HOPE that you arent suggesting that Hatton is scared of the Baby Cow. Yeah, Hatton is willing to fight Tszyu, Castillo, Floyd, and Manny... but he's scared of Juan Diaz.

Diaz's style isn't right for Hatton. It'd be a hold-fest and Hatton's people probably know it. Otherwise, Diaz's far superior stamina would win him a decision. You think Hatton is about to fight 3 minutes a round? Hell no. He can barely fight 30 seconds a round.

His only choice to beat Diaz would be to foul him all night and win ugly. Hatton's trying to emerge from being that fighter. Diaz isn't the opponent to do it against.

Juan Diaz would a fat ass at 140. The dude is already soft at 135. How the hell is a feather fisted fat midget going to beat Hatton?

I could never pick Diaz over Hatton.

2005 version of Hatton would walk right through Diaz and stop him brutally. The only hope Diaz has now is that Hatton is clearly diminished.

Yeah. The 2005 version of Hatton was invincible. Did you see the way he handled Ben Tackie? Or Carlos Vilches? Is that the treatment he'd give Diaz?

You have this hilariously annoying habit of quoting the Ben Tackie fight in every single Hatton related thread.

Are you to engaged or something?

You're such a Hatton hater. You'd probably pick Katsidis to beat Ricky.

I dunno about Hatton-Diaz now. Its all a matter of how much Ricky has left. He'll prob never recover from the Manny KO. But then again, Diaz might never recover from the Marquez KO.

All I know is that the Hatton that beat Castillo, would utterly destroy the Baby Cow within 6.

Tackie was a helluva lot more durable than Diaz.

The 2005 Hatton would rape Diaz, and you know it.

This fight makes no sense at all. Putting one of the most entertaining fighters in with one of the most boring fighters. GBP promotes alot of guys at 135 that Diaz could fight and would be exciting.

That COULD B a Valid Comparison, Doub...

ONLY Difference is, Tackie Packs a SLEDGEHAMMER in his Gloves, Whereas Diaz has COTTON CANDY...

Not to mention Tackie had a better chin, and was physically stronger than Diaz. Plus we all know the Cow doesnt like it to the body. Ricky's hook to the body would have had Juan in tears.

I think Malingnaggi can take advantage and beat Diaz via UD. Not many fighters can comeback after a ko loss of that magnitude.

Tackie's MENTALLY Stronger as Well...REED Can't Recall EVER Seeing Tackie MENTALLY "Tap Out" or PANIC During the Course of a Fight, as Diaz has Now Done TWICE...

Diaz is a BETTER, More ACCOMPLISHED Fighter than Tackie, but N Terms of Matching Up w/a PRIME Ricky Hatton, Tackie had a MUCH Better Chance of Winning...Diaz Would've Been VERY Competitive EARLY, but Hatton's SPEED & FEROCITY would've Lead to a 5th-6th Round Stoppage...

Paulie can win if he can box like he did in the 1st Ndou fight. But I dont think he'll ever perform that well again.

No. I just find it hilarious that a supposedly elite fighter looked like such shit fighting Ben Tackie when anyone with an boxing skills can make the guy look dumb as hell for 12 rounds.
