Pavlik has starched guys at SM--a lot of them--no one of any quality, though. I saw the Olds fight in person and Olds was out for minutes. A guy being able to avoid getting KO'd in a rematch is not unusual; and not being able to hurt Hopkins proves nothing. So whether or not Pavlik carries his power to 168 is either an unknown or a probably, in my mind. I think Abraham is a wrecking machine. Just like with Michalczewski, some people go to great lengths to criticize him or justify ducking him by their favorites. Just like with Michalczewski, he is the obvious challenge to the 'favorite' and any justification for ducking him rings very VERY hollow. I think it is easier to fight with the lead hand low. It's easier to see punches coming at you and it's easier for your lead hand punches not to be seen = more accurate. It's not for everyone and I'm surprised that Froch can pull it off, but he can.
I agree that Abraham is more of a threat to Pavlik... but if Pavlik fights Froch I wont complain much. Especially if Froch ends up fighting Bute, and by some chance BEATS Bute. Then Pavlik-Froch becomes a HUGE fight in 2010. But I'll be happy if Pavlik fights either one. He just needs to stop wasting his time fighting the Lockett's, and Rubio's of the world.
at Hopkins... "KILLING" ... kind've implying that he'd open up and walk him down... Im afraid Mercado taught our beloved Hops a valuable lesson,... 'never go forwards', and the most cowardly style in boxing history...was born,... he took 'bitch fighting'.. to another level.
it's just stupid to conclude that Pavlik can't be a champion at 168 or even at 175 because he lost to the coward, Hoopkins, and failed to repeat his knock-out of Taylor at 168. it's two fights. one of which he won. the other one against a wiley, dirty and spoiler of a fighter with no respect for the rules,. just plain silly. it's not like Hatton moved up to 147 and got schooled by Cotto. if that had happened, it'd be stupid to simply attribute it to the weight. it was Collazo !!! a feather-fisted guy and he nearly knocked Hatton out and made him look like shit. completely incomparable circumstances. terrible comparison. you guys will all see; Pavlik will prove you all wrong. he'll knock out Froch or Bute. i wish he'd fight Abraham just to shut everyone up but my guess is the negotiations just aren't working out. my guess is abraham knows he'd lose and therefore wants a ridiculous piece of the pie. either that, or he wants the fight in germany where all he'll have to do is stay on his feet to win a decision.
Thats the way,...,.. but still,.. 'movers' will always derail the train,.. ..Kessler would move just enough to make Pavlik look like an ox on a leasche,.. infact.. STURM... oh dear god,....another bitch fighter... that SHOULD make Pavlik run away crying and screaming like a girl, in the nicest possible way.
I think Froch beats Bute in a neutral location, but not in Bute's hometown. Bute doesn't have the moxy that Froch does. Froch will wear him down late.
Your hatred blinds you again. Pavlik is a world clas operator at 160. At 168, he is average. I will offer a ONE YEAR SIG BET that Pavlik does not KO Froch. No strings... MTF
WOW!!!... If Froch "Really, REALLY SUX", then WHAT Can we Deduce from Jermaine Taylor???... REED:stir:
Well Carl,..It was my mistake, for not seeing that Taylor was mentally depreciating ever since the first Hopkins fight, where he ofcourse had his trademark 'freeze' over the later rounds, to which Hopkins could not capitalise on for reasons we've all heard before, over and over again,.. ... I guess, yes,..Jermaine has become a fighter that sux,..which is why I agreed with the kneejerk consensus straight after the fight, and still stand by my wish that he does indeed retire.
So like Abdullaev, Tszyu & Margarito, Jermaine Taylor has ALSO Fell VICTIM to the "Kauki Kurse".???... REED:mj:
Reed please,... Hopkins utter contempt for the sport, manipulating every exploitable facet, does not make me a 'sheet' , as you have CUTTINGLY implied.
IMO, Kelly crunches both of these guys, stops them by TKO. I think many of you are making the mistake of judging him off of the Hopkins fight. This pair is not Bernard Hopkins, rest assured.
Yeah I heard he was "brave" in the rematch,.. but, that was the last time he was ever "brave" .. so I still assume that the knockdowns in thier previous fight had a lasting impression on our beloved Hops into the future,.. a style that replicates the movement of an amatuer boxer who is 3 points ahead with 1 minute to go on the clock,... for 20 odd title defences against smaller opposition,...what a beast.
