I don't know dawg. I mean, when W Bush was around, he had all the haters wanting his head and anybody with an opinion was tearing into his ass. Kinda the same thing here with Floyd. It's too difficult to ignore Floyd's BS. He actually thinks he's a bigger deal than he really is.
Guys on here are crying just cause his fight with Marquez is delayed. Like who the hell cares? The dude was gone for 2 years...why are guys all upset now all of a sudden? It's like they're pinning their hopes on Floyd to save the sport of boxing when Floyd himself said in the Brian Kenny video that he could give two sh*ts about the sport and is only here to get paid and has no intention of fighting the real fighters in his weight class.
Where do you see that kinda sh*t in any other sport except WWE Wrestling where stuff is all fake and choreographed? Do you see teams in the NFL or the NBA picking and choosing who they wanna play? Do you see guys in tennis, swimming or sprinting picking who they wanna compete against?
Only in boxing does this sh*t happen and now this catch weight sh*t is making boxing into an even bigger farce. The fact that you're cool with it shows clearly that you yourself don't care about the sport either.
Why do you think our boxing board is thinning out? Cause of this farce! It's not even a sport anymore, just a circus which doesn't get any press or mention in the local sports pages. Because of guys like Floyd who make a mockery of the sport.

I wonder if this is GBP tricks and ticket sales were lacking.

The new date talked about is during Mexican Independence Day in September. That should do better numbers at the gate and PPV.

Man I may as well cancel my HBO. They haven't produced shit all year. Not a single fight worth watching. Cotto/Clottey was okay - a lot more exciting than people predicted it would be. But other than that, WTF has HBO done for me lately?

I think I'll call and cancel it today.

I've only seen selected rounds but I'd say Bernard Dunne's comeback KO leads the "Fight of the year" category.

Does that mean Floyd is still a bigger draw than Manny?

24/7 hadn't even started. That would have hyped the fight greatly.

Just like it helped Hopkins-Wright and Jones-Calzaghe?

    Hopkins-Wright didn't have 24/7.

Calzaghe can't draw in the US so is a smaller draw than Marquez and Jones is not a mainstream attraction like Floyd is.

    Hopkins-Wright didn't have a 24/7.

Jones/Calzaghe didn't have a good personality to sell anything.

The ticket prices were way over priced for Jones-Calzaghe. They did a good job selling 7,000 tickets.

pay per view sales are what measures that. july is really a shitty time of the year for a ppv anyhow.

Calzaghe was a joke. I'm so glad he retired. I only wish Andrade had gotten his shot against him. I think he could've beaten him.

I ...think Calzaghe would have only made you more angrier to be honest.

Haven't seen this anywhere else, but this is from an interview with Nacho Beristain on Boxingtalk:

"The fight will be at 142 or 143 only. For every pound over, Mayweather will be fined $300,000."

Except from those who believe Mayweather isn't a real welterweight, but a small, 'blown up' one, right?

Of course, there's also that Pacquiao's already (signed) to fight above the weight he's trying to get Cotto to fight at, and still wants it to be a title fight.

People are complaining because Manny wants the fight at 145, the belt on the line and Cotto is much bigger than Floyd is.

The card so far for September 19 Number one/Numero uno:
    Mayweather-Marquez
    John-Juarez 2
    Katsidis-Escobedo
    Judah-Antonio Diaz

    Also the possibility of Funeka-Guzman

    Thats a crazy card.

Katsidis-Escobedo would be a great undercard fight. Exactly the kind that should be a mainstay on ppv's.

    Funeka-Guzman would be very nice.

Not that much interest in Judah-Diaz, and I don't know, John-Juarez II, wherever it ends up, just sorta seems like filler to me.

So, I guess I should expect the latter over the former.

most people haven't been anticipating john-juarez 2 but I enjoyed their first fight. I agree that judah vs diaz is junk. antonio diaz looked terribly shot several years ago against quiroz in vegas.

It's too bad this card is going up against a MMA card on the same night. Floyd's rep as a draw will be exposed on that night, as will his undefeated record.

What will really suck is, providing Floyd wins, if he fails to draw well in this fight, Roach will demand that Manny make the most for their matchup. Floyd obviously won't agree to it giving him his excuse to duck the fight and take a rematch with Judah.
