Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is ranked #3 by the WBO and #4 by the WBC. He is not among the top 15 by the IBF and WBA. My question is who has he beaten among the top ten to be placed #3 & #4 by the WBO & WBC? Fightnews has him ranked #16 which is where he might truly belongs. I do hope he gets a title shot with Sergeii Dzinziruk or Sergio Martinez and be exposed, but I do wish more to see him against Daniel Santos in another Mexico vs Puerto Rico fight. :crafty:

Santos kills the kid, no way if I am a handler of Chavez Jr. that I put him in with Santos, the best you could do is probally just wait and see as all three champions are pretty dayum tough...

You must really hate Chavez Jr because Santos will put his ass in a pine box! Can't blame you this guy has been fighting nothing but bums! What does he have 40+ fights already?

I don't have a problem w/ Chavez jr. fighting all these bums, as long as i don't have to witness it on PPV undercards...give him his own ppv when he fight these bums.

IMO he will NEVER be ready for the TOP of any division....

Seriously. Chavez Jr. fights, against the current level of competition he's been facing, is not worthy of TV. If his name were not Chavez, he'd possibly have had one or two appearances at the bottom of a PPV under-card. But because his name is Chavez, he's managed to beat nobody of substance, become famous, headline PPV cards against unknown competition, and now we see he's even managed to gain a top 10 ranking among a couple of the prominent sanctioning bodies. It's politics. It's about money. And it's crap.

What I'm surprised by is how slow Chavez Jr. is. Nobody seems to bring that up in discussions about him. He's slow as hell. There's no way he stands a chance against anyone who knows how to use the ring, has a long jab, or quick hands and throws in combination.

If any of you can read spanish, go to the boxing forums in the Univision website. You'll be amazed at the amount of idiots (mainly mexicans) who swear Chavez Jr is going to clean the super welter division and become THE unified champion by 2010. I can only understand why these fans are so furiously blind about this kid: they are just hardcore die-hard Chavez Sr. fans who want to relive Chavez era of glory days through his son. The same way Bruce Lee fans were salivating at the thought of a young Brandon Lee growing up to one day take his father's mantle as a martial arts actor. In both cases, the fans were/are just dreaming.

I've read thos message boards on univision. Fucking Mexicans and Boricuas go at it so much it's funny :bears:

Funny though, most Mexicans fans I talk to at work or in other places don't think much of him.

I don't have a problem him headlining thos Top Rank ppvs because if people pay for it or go to those small arenas where the Latin Fury fights are held than it's because they want to see the kid fight.

personally I think he will be no more than average. I wouldn't call him a scrub but he is nothing special.

As far as him winning a tittle I think Arum will rather put him with a name fighter that's past his prime before he puts him with a belt holder.
