I used to call it the "Joppy Rule". It meant a fighter with no talent who has a belt and a load of defenses. Now, it is the Abraham rule. LET IT Be know that a fighter can still be a complete and total scrub and still defend a belt 10 times. ABRAHAM IS AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pavlik needs to ruin this fraud now and forever. If he moves up to 168, he couldn't even beat Froch. Abraham is the worst long reigning champion perhaps ever.
Abraham is awesome...I think hes a solid champ with no real deficiencies. Seems like a pretty complete fighter to me.
He does fight to the level of his competition, he clearly thought nothing about giving away some early rounds against Oral...I'd say he will be able to carry his power to 168, but I doubt he will enjoy the same success at the highest level
Say what U Want about Abraham, but he's UNORTHODOX, he Can BANG & he's Gonna B a Difficult Fight for ANYBODY...He's TOUGHER than Given Credit for, Too...Sure, the 1st Miranda Fight was Horribly OFFICIATED, but Abraham had a GROTESQUELY SWOLLEN Jaw, yet he DIDN'T Tap Out...Compare that to the More Heavily Hyped American that Fought on the Same Night (Down the Dial on HBO) & Tucked his Tail in the 6th Round...Moreso, Abraham WAXED Miranda N the RE, in America, No Less... Abraham is Almost EVEN MONEY w/just about Anybody, N REED's Opinion...Pavlik, Froch, Whoever...Abraham's NO WORSE than a 60-40, 55-45 Type of Underdog Against the So-Called "Elite" Middles & SuperMiddles... Sure, he's Got a Pretty SHITTY Resume Overall, but Abraham's Also Got a TRUE Punchers Chance Against ANYBODY...& he's Awkward in a GOOD Way... There was a two or three years span that ended earlier this year where I didn't miss an Abraham fight. I've just seen enough. He's an annoying, protected title holder. Not a champion.
He's awful. Just awful. Anyone who thinks he is anything other than awful has no ability to judge boxing talent. I don't say this to be mean or condescending. This is a guy who lost more more rounds than he won to Edison Miranda and nearly was killed by Miranda who is at best a bottom level world class fighter. Even in the rematch, he lost ever second of the fight until he broke Mierda's glass chin. Honestly, he might be worse than Joppy. I don't have the words to fully describe what a complete and total fraud Abraham is. You all know how I feel. I think the Tito that fought Hopkins would kayo Abraham in 4. I have always thought little of Pavlik but I would be shocked if he didn't ru roughshod over Abraham. Actually outside of a hAIL mARY, Pavlik would murder this scrub. Since this is a small forum, all the Euros ought to know that I am not the typical American poster who thinks all Euros are scrubs. I usually support European fighters years before others here do. That said, Abraham is god awful and a total fraud.
Oral gave Abraham some problems for sure and that guy is as frail as pro fighter gets. He basically folded as soon as Abraham landed a couple shots after winning nearly every round. Abraham can't get away with that shit forever. I dont see him beating any of the tougher guys at 168. Kessler would fuck him up bad.

I'm not all that high on Kessler either, but I think he has exactly what it takes to beat Abraham. He's a big strong 168 pounder, has a good work rate and he's got a solid chin.

Never did I say Kessler was "The guy" I just think he's a tough guy and Abraham's usual tactics of starting slow, losing rounds then knocking a scrub out won't work on someone like Kessler. Based on styles, nothing more.
it would, but Abraham would get annihilated. I really don't get what some people see with him. He takes lots of time off, throws nice punches every 45 seconds, but doesn't have the gusto to be asgood as some are saying.
