Why do you need Cupey's love to post on this site? The place doesn't seem any different now than it did 1 year ago or 2 years ago. The only difference is that 2 additional years of boxing dying have past. :kidcool:
I like this forum. It's like a funky looking tavern you walk into when you're lost on a rainy night, and you find it's full of really interesting people with lots of history. You can sit down at almost any stool and hear a good conversation taking place. Some of the people actually know what the fuck they are talking about. Then you walk home and sort of forget about it's unique weirdness and charm, but one day while you're folding laundry you have the urge to go back and see what's going on again. The homepage might be akin to the facade - all dated and crumbling, clearly neglected and somewhat embarrassing. But if you close your eyes and quickly go inside, then the homepage doesn't really matter. Neither does the owner, who pops in every now and again with some new drama only to have it fall apart and everything goes back to the way it was. Like one day he says "we're installing video poker machines in the bar" and everyone kind of grumbles or cheers, but it never really happens, or maybe you get just one machine that breaks and then just sits their forever, broken. Or maybe he comes in one day and declares he is selling the bar, and the tavern is abuzz for a while, but inevitably something happens like he is drunk one night and starts hugging the dartboard babbling about how he can "never part with 'er" and so it never gets sold, and everything goes back to the way it was. Sometimes people leave in a huff and say they'll never be back, but then they come back anyway. Sometimes people get kicked out, too, but they usually come back as well. Yep, I like it here. I will probably remain until one day I show up and it's all boarded up.
Exactly, it makes no sense. BF has always been far worse than here, just a wasteland of a boxing site, no atmosphere, no humour, a shit owner, and boring people.
Excellent post, couldn't have said it better. I've never been to a forum before where I like almost everyone on the whole forum There are a lot of cool guys here, and to the point - guys that know boxing, and love boxing. And it just feels relaxed here, not much moderation etc, not much arsey-ness in general.
Fuck that site in its ass. If S_D and GF want to start up their own site, I'll supply real fucking money to help get it done. Otherwise, I'm staying here until it DIES BABY!
I registered there (BF) just as an emergency route or lifeboat where to escape when this ship sinks. But until the day I come here and I read something like "this website no longer exists", I'll still be coming here to tell all of you heathens and pagans that if you don't repent you will all burn in Hell!
