That's an odd thing to say given that Fedor made more money from Pride and Affliction than comparable UFC pay. And that UFC pay is generally crap, all things considered.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Strikeforce deal netted Fedor slightly more than was being offered by the UFC.

Do you know exactly what the UFC deal was? Clearly it wasn't 5 mil per fight.

I must say though, I am disappointed a UFC deal couldn't be worked out.

The heavyweights there aren't great, but still better than anywhere else, and Fedor - Lesnar is a hell of a lot more interesting than Fedor - Overeem.

I like Rogers though, he's just too green to be thinking about fighting someone like Fedor.

    Why would you say that?

He doesn't suck at all. Did you see him absolutely demolish Arlovski in his last fight?

As chinny as loffski is, that was still impressive.

I just go by the 'who would win in a fight' rule. Fedor is clearly top dog.

I was talking about Strike Force in general not paying as much as the UFC. Just type it into google and you will see. The info is out there. I'm not making anything up. I posted what I read about the UFC deal already in this thread.

Werdum is garbage, and Overeem is very overated and will give Fedor no trouble whatsoever.

Rogers is a different story, because he's dominated every fight he's been in, granted in a very one dimensional style, and against suspect opponants. But still, he has looked great and has a puncher's chance. We haven't seen him on the ground yet, so he could be worse than Houston Alexander, but we don't know that just yet.

We havent seen brock lesnar get hit by a real striker either, but he gets a pass.I don't care if he's the UFC champion or not ,he's every bit as unproven as Rogers.

Lesnar has been in there with Mir X2, Couture and Herring, he's far from as unproven as Rogers.

The flush knee from Mir wasn't a good strike? He took some flush shots from Randy as well. I'm not saying Rogers won't turn out to be good, but seriously bro you have got to give Brock some damn credit. You are as bad as the guys who hate on Fedor.

Werdum is not garbage...he has fought a good list of opponents and had some good wins as well as losses to good fighters

Overeem has always been that dangerous fighter who would do well in fights until he found a way to run out of gas and lose...but he is always dangerous early

Rogers is a good opponent regardless of his lack of ground skills
MMA has become become mostly a striker sport over the last 2 years so that fight should be very interesting

though fedor is so good he will probably beat all of these guys in the 1st round..LOL

GSP has been the best fighter in the UFC for a long time IMO. Rogan started the Silva p4p hype train and the kids followed.

GSP probably is the best fighter in the UFC. BUT,....don't say that Rogaine is the reason why Silva is getting HIS #1 props.

The guy TOTALLY dismantled a BIG middleweight in Franklin, not once ...twice.

He has really had no problems with anyone in the UFC to speak of. He totally demolished the usually granite chinned Leben.

And in what I think is his greatest performance, he submitted the verrry tough and accomplished Nate Marquardt ...,surprisingly easy.

Submitted the tough, albeit usually outta shape submission specialist Travis Lutter FROM THE BOTTOM, mind you.

Subbed the larger Dan Henderson. Subbed Dan Henderson????

Moved up to face if nothing else, a very explosive and much larger KO specialist, James Irvin .......and destroyed the guy. Flat out destroyed him.

His last two fights against Cote and Leites weren't that impressive, BUT...he was never in danger of coming even remotely close to losing either one.

So don't say Rogan is the one who got the Anderson Silva is the #1 guy thang going.

Silva did that on his own......and frankly, I couldn't damn anyone who places him over Fedor OR GSP.

I think Anderson is a better fighter than GSP (not by much) but GSP has obviously accomplished way more. Depends what you like.

Uhh hate to break it to you, but it was Rogan and White who "got the whole #1 guy thing going"

Ever since Fedor beat Sylvia, White started this whole "Anderson Silva is the best pound for pound" campaign. It has gotten so ridiculous that White can't even say the fighters name without mentioning "pound for pound".

I think he just feels the need to make up for the fact that he doesn't have the best fighter in the world in his stable.

OK Anderson Silva is not #1 he's #2  big deal the guy is still one of the best fighters in the world.

IMO he would beat GSP if they fought any time soon. GSP is also a great fighter but I think he relies on his sheer size and strength and that shit wont fly against Silva.

Anderson has destroyed everything at middle weight and now hes taking on Griffin -sure Forrest is not the most talented guy in the world but he has W's against the elite at LHW.

Completely drop the term 'p4p'. If it came down to a fight, the odds are the one of the Klitschkos is the hardest man in boxing.

I think many of us are missing the boat here. The UFC and Fedor will never happen. Let it go. If it does, it will be after Fedor is on the downside and we will all be disappointed anyway. The good news, he is with Strikeforce and will be fighting 3 fights. Thats great for anyone who loves to watch Fedor fight. At least he isn't sitting idle, letting valuable time slip away. Would I love to see Fedor fight Brock. Hell yeah. But in no way shape or form does Fedor need to fight Brock for any reason. I love the idea of Fedor fighting Werdum, Overheem, and Rogers. All will be fan friendly and entertaining. I can't wait.:bears:

I like the best guys to face the best guys, I critisize Mayweather for this, I did the same with RJJ and I'll be damned if Fedor isn't going to get the same treatment.

The UFC has a far better HW roster, I would have much rather he ended up there.

The only good to come of this is that I will probably get to go see Fedor fight if he comes to San Jose.

I'm just bitter it didn't happen, I don't blame Fedor personally at all. We should have all known from the start than the co-promotion thing would never ever happen in the UFC.

Like I said though, the good is that I hopefully will get to see Fedor fight live if he comes to San Jose.
