agreed . calzaghe was a joke and a coward.

roy jones still squadered pretty much of it's career fighting bums, but at least he got some good wins, while calzaghe was fighting the will mcytnthyre of this world

That was before the Jones - Kelly fight I think, or the Jones - Woods fight.

I thought neither guy was fighting the night they did that. I thought it was during a Floyd fight or somebody else big when they did it.

Of course Calzaghe is just as big an asshole. I have never understood the fascination of boxing fans with fighters who mock their outclassed opponents, especially if the opponents are handpicked to be just that. In other sports the athletes celebrate (often modestly), when they score on outclassed opponents again, but rarely do you see them jump in the opponents face and start to dance, shake their hips or talk to the comentators during the game, because it´s unsportmanlike and classless. To me the bragging rights are in stopping your opponent outright, and not in how many dumb dancemoves you can bust out.

It was in between Bernard Hopkins beating Carl Daniels and Roy Jones fighting Glenn Kelly.

Well for what it's worth on the Concepcion DQ, I think he is telling the truth when he says he didn't hear the bell. Doesn't matter anyway, he deserved the DQ. But based on his behavior I think he legitimately didn't hear the round's end and so just kept on fighting. Too bad.

It does make me wonder a little bit why they don't institute a visual round end cue, especially for noisy venues, or boxers whose hearing is shot. I guess the ref can always take it on themselves to jump in (which Nady did not do), but how about a $2 flashing or sustained light on all the turnbuckles when the round ends?

    I should patent that.

My only question is why the fuck was you watching women fight anyway and why the fuck would people care about the result of a womens fight.

Thanks. Another duck job by Roy he really ruined that fight from happening, as usual. I also remember reading where Hopkins went into Roy's dressing room to confront him about the fight and Hopkins says Roy wasn't acting all tough and shit then and that Roy wouldn't look him in the eyes.

So now Roy is ducking fights with guys he easily beat  Hops and DK is the reason why the fight didn't happen.

Yeah, he easily beats Hopkins, so there was no reason for him to even bother fighting him right? I just heard Hopkins say he would accept 50/50 both were big names and long reigning champions. Why should Roy feel he deserved 60/40?

It's bad decisions like that that have Roy fighting past the age of 40 and trying to reclaim a legacy that would have been more solid had he put his ego aside back then and accepted a 50/50 split.

You seriously need to try to be a little less biased when discussing your namesake. Maybe B.Hops and King were responsible but you're jocking way too hard if you think Roy wasn't equally if not more so.

When you are champ, the draw, the p4p champ and already hold a win you should get 60/40. Hops' problem wasn't that he was getting 40% more so that DK would have got 50% oh is 40%.

They had that on the original Madison Square Garden Ring they retired a couple years ago. It was instituted in the 1950's for deaf boxer Eugene Hairston.

I saw the ring up at the Hall of Fame this year. The lights were still on the ring posts though I don't know if they ever used them when a hearing impaired boxer wasn't in the ring.

Interesting. It is a bit odd that that idea did not carry forward or get refined in some sense so as to be present at all fights.

I will thus have to pursue another invention to strike it rich. All the same I guess since the U.S. patent office is now over 6 years behind in processing and getting worse by the day.

It's Monday, if you hadn't found out by now it's your fucking fault.

It was an honest error and I'd apologized Saturday night. Stop acting like a bitch.
