Also, I would like to make something clear - I missed the Bute/Andrade fight when it happened and recently watched it - Bute was dropped with either two or three seconds left in the round. All he had to do was beat the count and the fight is over, because as far as I know the clock does not stop when the the ref is counting to 10. Even with the ref being an idiot, Bute was up at 6 by my count, and 8 if you are counting way faster than any ref would. Seriously, where is the controversy? I hate missing fights and going by the opinions of some of you guys sometimes. I thought there was a real issue here.
The controversy is, Bute was in no condition to continue. The count and the seconds after a fighter make it up, are for the referee to assess his condition. Bute was done. First round, last round, he did not deserve to continue.
I can see that. But you can't argue that he was up well before 10 under any circumstances and there was no time left.
Being up before ten only means that you aren't automatically stopped. What then happens is the referee is to assess your condition to go out and continue. There is simply no way he could have passed this point if the official wasn't a homer.
bute was up at 6 he did go down with just 2 seconds left on the clock. Andrade did leave his corner but did not reach the middle of the ring and the only reason he did because he thought the fight was over. We can agree on that. However bute was out on his feet and in no condition to continue. andrade only moved from the neutral corner because he thought the fight was over and he won. He wouldn't have moved from the corner if he didn't think the fight was over.
::::This is by far the worst opinion you have ever had. Where is the controversy::::Honestly, Andrade is such a great person and he is just a class act. I literally would have punched the ref until I was pulled off. I threw a plate at the wall over a boxing match. I am disappointed in myself but that was just wrong, corrupt and putrid. Andrade KAYOED A GUY AND LOST!! WTF, COULD BE WORSE??
But that was fun. Krasniqi can´t get KTFO often enough, though I´ll be rooting for him against that bum Dimitrenko.
Nothing I wrote was opinion. It's factual that he went fown with 2 or 3 seconds left, and it's factual that he was up at 6 according to any objective count. You can argue the fight should have been stopped all you want.
Looking at the IBF rules it is clear as day how this fight should have ended. I don't watch Boo-tay fights but this is probably why....that and the fact that Lucien is not part of the Super Six tourney..
The Palestinian should win the rematch due to the fact that there are no enforced rules for excessive running and clinching, pure fighters like Andrade, are not allowed to win.
Bute is a good friend of mine. He just learned to speak French almost a year ago. He is from Romania and proud of it; the French-Canadians have adopted him and the Inter-Box stable as their own. Andrade is trained by the Grant brothers in Montreal. A born Mexican living in L.A. training in Montreal. Andrade makes great fights and the people of Montreal love Boxing and Lucian Bute. That is the ticket seller.artie: I never thought Andrade got robbed. Stay in the corner!
well that was one long-ass reprimand by the ref in there, summed to a long ass count and you got yur robbery in there.
