^^^of course speed kills. Especially when you have a significant reach advantage over a smaller opponent who also happens to be outmatched in all other physical categories. This fight was a farce.

exactly, everyone save the same jokers who are alway's wrong in their prediction ( and some good posters who will look back at it in shame ) knew it. Hell, most of the guy who were claiming it was a competetive fight were Floyd fans who knew in thier heart that is was a mismatch but tried to hype it up to make it look better for Floyd. Marquez did fight like a warrior but it was fucking dissapointing that Floyd never threw combination and was happy to just pot shot Marquez. Not a bad fight if you're a purists like most of us are but I'm sure casual fans founded it boring as hell

Glad I didn't pay for this. Total mismatch.

I wonder if Floyd will retire again?

That was a fucking stacked card. All the fights were trmendous IMO. Totally worth the money.

As for Floyd-Pac, Floyd will beat Pac so easy. Pac can't defend right hands and Pac won't land shit on PBF.

:laughing: Mayweather answers are as predictable as Cotto....Cotto is "whoever my team picks(lucky for us they usually pick the top of the division the Mosley, Margarito, Clottey, etc....)

Mayweather answer is....."if the MONEY is right i'll fight anybody, but 10 seconds earlier he said it's not about the money"....

He didn't even get to answer the question. Max let his ego get in the way because Mayweather said let me speak. Mayweather is the star of the show. Nobody ordered the PPV to see Max.

*Floyd looked pretty good tonight, and is simply better than JMM. He deserved this win. You can see all of Floyd's little flaws, as always, and I believe he was a bit slower than usual tonight, probably from the layoff. But his speed and skill are just tremendous. Floyd is an amazing fighter. Next fight any ring rust should be gone.

*Most notable to me was the time-tested fact that Floyd simply does not and can not punch when an opponent is coming in punching. He has become really disjunct between offense/defense. A pressing, active fighter will always give Mayweather more trouble than another pure boxer or counterpuncher. Floyd is also very open to the overhand right, but only (again) for an opponent with enough size and reach to land it flush. Floyd gets away with some sloppy shit in there, but he's good enough to do it.

*For me, the key to this fight, and maybe the most important thing that could be discussed tonight and in subsequent Mayweather fights is this: at a high level of competition, Floyd really needs a size advantage in fights against his opponents. As long as he keeps handpicking clearly inferior or smaller guys to fight, he is not going to lose, plain and simple.

*You could really see just how much bigger Floyd was than JMM tonight, and I think 146 is legitimately all Floyd could reasonably make anymore. Floyd has filled out well and his body type is that of a true welterweight at this point. Anyone who belongs at 140 on down (i.e. Pac, JMM, Hatton, Gatti, etc.,etc.) is not an appropriate or competitive opponent for Floyd IMO, just as they would not be against someone like Margarito. God, since he went through the trouble of un-retiring, I really, really, wish Floyd would actually campaign at welter.

*You cannot do what needs to be done to beat Floyd if you are a smaller guy. JLC showed what can be done when your size allows you to bull your way in a bit, and what you can do when you don't really have to fear the quick check hook or straight right Mayweather gets by on. DLH, who was really on the downslide also showed how a bit of size renders Floyd a bicycle riding potshot artist.

*I think Manny should skip fighting Floyd. I really do, even though I would buy the fight if it transpired. Of course Pac will make the fight, because it isn't in his nature to avoid challenges or handpick opponents. But he should. Floyd will just sign a 143 or 144 catchweight contract and pay the fine to come in at 147. Pac is too damn small, and Floyd will forever get the credit for besting him while people forget what an insane leap up it will be for Pac. If Pac were a true welter I really believe he would have a better than 50/50 shot at knocking Floyd out cold. He has exactly what is needed to beat Floyd, he is fast, has amazing power, and can keep up debilitating pressure all fight long.

But he is too small, and Floyd right now is too damn big. Floyd is a truly fantastic fighter, and even though I don't care for his personality, you have to respect his ability. But I am at this point completely uninterested in seeing him finagle more "criminal catchweight confusion". If you won't fight in your division, then just retire again already.

The fight was so one sided I expected Floyd to go for the KO late and instead he took the foot of the pedal and closed the fight horribly.

I know it is a big deal to dominate a guy like JMM but he took no chances and had an oponent in which he had to make a statement with.

I loved what happened with Shane after the fight. Even though it was disrespectful it had to be done.

I am sick of Floyd bullshitting with the same answers all the time. I'm glad someone checked him in front of millions of people for once.

I respect and like watching Floyd fight but he wants too much credit for doing too little and he clearly can do more.

Whatever happened tonight he had it coming.

Mayweather can't answer tough questions w/ out stuttering....when asked about fighting Mosley he stutter for 10-15 seconds...then Mosley jumped in like Marvin Shabazz "bullshit motherfucker I'm rank #1 at Welterweight....I'm tired of you motherfuckers ducking me....stop running like a beeeatchh"...

I agree with everything you say but it's Floyd's greatness I'm beginning to seriously doubt. He looked pretty flawed in the JMM fight and like you said, he needs the perfect opponents/conditions in order to win.

I've already stated the next easiest fight for him would be Cotto. I'd be a tough fight for Floyd, but if he intends to prove himself he could beat Cotto. He'd actually have to feel hard punches for a change during the fight, but I"m sure he can manage it.

Nice sig there Legendary. It's just too bad you left off the best part of it. Clottey walking towards Cotto after that useless combo and giving one of the best "no" headshakes ever.

Mosley has no chance against Mayweather. Styles make fights. Lets not get carried away now. Floyd would outbox him.

Mayweather carried Marquez IMO. Should have put him away but I'm happy for Marquez that he can at least say he lasted the distance with Floyd.

Bring on the winner of Pacquiao-Cotto.

Styles make fights. I think u need a overhand right with speed to beat Floyd. Marquez hit him with one early on. Shane has the best in the business.

that was very unprofessional of Home Boys Only to put Mosley in the ring and let him on the mic like that. Its a worthwhile fight, but certainly takes a back seat to the winner of Cotto-Pacquiao for Mayweather jr. desperate times call for desperate measures where Mosley is concerned, though. i understand that.

Nah it wasn´t that bad. HBO just made it sound like garbage. The betting odds reflected what truly happened over the second half of the fight unlike the scorecards of Lederman and Byrd. John was outlanding Juarez for the majority of the first eight rounds, but Juarez landed some hard shots of his own. And by round seven or eight, you could sense that drama was about to develop with John slowing down and his eye swelling shut. But HBO completely ignored what was happening in the ring and disrespected both fighters by going on and on about Mayweather this Mayweather that, creating the picture that this was still a one-sided slapfest, while John was clearly suffering in the last couple of rounds. Well clear to anybody, but the HBO crew and Rocky Juarez.

Yeah that was sweet,.. I didnt see the fight, never intended to and never will,.. I went to Youtube for the post fight interview, scrolled up to the bit with Kellerman and the cunt, when Mosely was visible I pressed play, and he smacked the fucken smile off his face, then I clicked off the window,.. and that's my view for this particular farce, "word of mouth" that Fraud has had his feelings hurt, I'll tap that.
