Jones was the more athletic and harder punch, Mayweather is more skilled.

Floyd is way bigger than Roy was. For good reason. Mayweather works his ass off too promote himself.

Thank you. Floyds inside game and defense are better than Roys ever were. Floyds a superior counter-puncher too.

Very true. If Roy had Floyds skills he would have been champ longer. As it is I still say Floyd became P4P #1 after Roy lost. A lot of people say Hopkins but not me. If Floyd and Roy were the same weight and fought each other in their prime, Roy would have won though. To fast, athletic and powerful for Floyd. Regardless Floyd is more skilled and could end up higher on the OTG list because of his skills. It's going to depend on what he does in the future. Floyd is my favorite boxer now and he has won me a lot of money because I always bet on him.

Floyd's Inside DEFENSE is Better, but NOT his Offense...When's Floyd EVER Fought as Good on the INSIDE (OFFENSIVELY) as Roy Did Against Sosa or Brannon???...Floyd's a SAFER Counter-Puncher, but Not Sure if he's a BETTER 1...Roy GAMBLED More on his Counters, but that Led to ALOT more Highlight Reel Counters Too...

Floyd had a More FUNDAMENTAL Style...A Style that's EASIER to Teach...Roy had a 1nce in a Lifetime, VIDEO GAME Type of Style...The Type of Shit that Guys can Get KILLED for Emulating...

Bums both of them...Floyds inside game is a big part of his style and he used it more effectively against better opposition than RJ did over their carrers.

His short counters from underneath and over the top with the right hand are flawless.

Sure RJ had faster hands, hit harder and had a better hook but thats it....and RJ is not in the same league with Floyd in being able to adjust either IMO.

Maybe...maybe RJ would have beat SRR too, who knows? we'll never know but I think Mayweather is the more skilled fighter of the two and has more dimensions and layers to his game that's for sure.

The Version of Sosa that Roy Fought WASN'T a Bum....Floyd is NOT What REED would Call an "Inside Fighter"...Roy had the Over & Under Counters, UPPERCUTS AND BODYSHOTS from Inside...w/POWER...

Even Against Lesser Comp, Floyd's NEVER STAYED in the Pocket & BRUTALLY Got a Guy Up OFF of him, the Way Roy Did Brannon....

Who has the better highlight reel inside stuff isn't my point really. I'm talking about who displayed the most consistant inside skills against good opposition over a career. If your saying that RJ was the better pocket fighter I disagree..and your right Sosa wasn't a bum he could bang and was tough.

The only fair comparison are the Hatton fights....at that stage both Floyd and Manny had beaten Oscar. There's barely anything in it.

I was going to say exactly the same thing.

That is indeed the fairest comparison.

For a start, if you remember, Oscar - Floyd was marketed to FUCK. It was the first 24/7, and a huge amount of marketing went into it aside from that too.

That fight would have attracted a huge amount of haters from both sides too, tuning in, hoping that either Floyd or Oscar would lose, depending on who they hated more.

Don't forget too, these are just American numbers. Pacman has a whole continent behind him, and there's going to be extra revenue from overseas PPV's, or just broadcasting fees, sponsorship etc etc.

Those numbers don't tell the whole story.

    50/50 is fair.

Not at all. Manny had had PPV's with Marquez, Morales and Barrera before his fight with Oscar. Floyd had his PPV with Gatti, Zab and Baldomir. Pac had been with bigger draws b4 his fight with Oscar than Floyd had. They both had 24/7.

May's gimmick is working. He's been all over ESPN the last week. Go boxing.

If Roid and May fought eachother it might be the first fight without a landed be punch. A thrown punch might be few and far between as well.

Pacquiao's fights are transmitted for free at the Philippines. If they charge at least one dollar per view it will make a huge difference.

Manny's from a 3rd World Country, Mex...& his PPV's R Shown from FREE in Many of the Surrounding Countries...Do U HONESTLY Think they're Charging United States PPV Rates for Manny's Fights Over There???...HELLfuckingNO!!!!...

This is the SAME Thing as when Guys like Hatton or Calzaghe Pack 60,000 Asses into Seats, yet the LIVE GATE of a Typical Vegas PPV Card (w/Only 10-15,000 in Attendance) SHITS on the Live Gate of those Hatton/Calzaghe Cards...

Manny Pacquiao DOES NOT Deserve 50/50...He DOESN'T Generate the PPV Revenue that Floyd Does...How Many MORE Times Does this Need to B PROVEN???...

jones jr. hits harder, and it was suicide to trade with him in his prime. brannon was a hard headed felon who didnt have much regard for his own well being. but all of what you stated above can be attributed to jones jr.'s more explosive punching power.

What I hope is Manny doesn't fight Floyd so that Floyd has to fight someone his own fucking size. I have never thought Manny had a good chance against Floyd, and JMM vs Floyd didn't change anything.

Manny vs JMM 3 at 135 or 140
    Mosley vs Mayweather

Those are the fights that have meaning.

Ok so after googling and looking at multiple articles I see 800k to 1.6m ppv buys. My guess is closer to 800k, as it would make sense to inflate the numbers. And since Floyd got 12m to fight Baldomir, I guess he made about 50m in this fight.
