I don't care much for the fight but I'll watch it.

Anyway here's a quote from Hopkins about how he feels about RJJ:

"Roy's been so loud about wanting 60 percent for all these years, let's see how bad he really wants it. I'm not a knockout artist but 60 percent is something to fight for. It's definitely extra motivation for me," Hopkins told Doug Fischer of The Ring Online. "In many ways it's a grudge match for me. I respect Roy as a fighter and what he's accomplished in the ring, but I don't like him as a person.
"He jerked me around for many years and used me, with the lure of making a rematch, just to get leverage in his negotiations for other fights. I once flew to Florida to try to get a deal done, man to man, but he didn't treat me like a man. Instead, he threw a lot of dirt in my face, and I haven't forgotten about it. That's going to get me through many long days of training with Naazim Richardson for this fight."
"And if I can knock him out, and believe me I will go for it if it presents itself, that would one-up his decision over me. Getting 60 percent would be icing on the cake."

Bernard ducked the shit out of Jones when they were both undisputed. Anyone posting around that time knows it too.

Hopkins can run his mouth all he wants, that FACT doesn't change.

Hopkins is in promotion mode now. He and Roy are actually cool with one another. As for Roy jerking him around... Hopkins is the one who had turned away from deals in the past. I really think that radio station interview brought this fight together.

This fight should've happened 8-9 years ago. I think Hopkins cost himself a lot of money by not taking this fight right after beating Tito. Just imagine how big he could've been if he had back to back wins against Tito and Roy at a time when they were both looked at as unbeatable. He could've been a crossover star like an Oscar or a Holyfield.

As for the fight happening now, I'll pass. Hopkins's style bores me to death and Roy is a shell of himself.

This fight is stupid, it proves nothing and it means nothing. They are both old and shot, why would this outcome matter?

Yet another reason why boxing now sucks. Shit like this is a "Big fight"

Why do outcomes have to matter in boxing?

Can't it just be about the payday?

It's always just about the payday, not a whole lot of meaninful fights happen anymore. At least not any involving "stars"
