I am going to be putting up weekly videos of MMA fights in the past. This will be fun for those new to MMA so you view some matches you have never seen. This will also be fun for us older MMA fans to relive some great fights. I will try to give a little background on this fight.

    UFC 52 April 16th 05

This fight was very short, but it kicked major ass. In this fight, Hughes and Trigg were exchanging blows when Trigg hit Hughes in the Groin. He went to complain and Trigg Pounced on his ass. Trigg was going for some GNP (ground & Pound) and finally got Hughes' back with RNC (Rear Naked Choke) I thought Hughes was going to sleep. This is exactly how Matt Hughes beat Trigg the first fight. Hughes' face was turning Purple. He was DONE!...

    or so we thought

HUGHES escapes the choke picks Trigg up, and proceeds to carry him ALL the way back to Trigg's very own corner and SLAMS the fuck out of him. Puts Trigg in a RNC for the Tap in one of the most exciting fights in MMA.

    Enjoy

    Good idea GF.

I am addicted to UFC Unleashed and love watching old fights. Watching Trigg-Hughes II back when it happened, I just knew Matt was done. Amazing how he fought out it and managed that massive slam.

The Strength Hughes had in that fight was amazing. To be able to pick a man up and carry him all the way to his corner was ridiculous.

Thanks for the video Godfather, I'll give that the twice over,.. on a somewhat different note, what martial art do you study personally?,.. I remembered you were jumped after defeating some fat fuck in New York,.. but I cant remember what sort of combat you were engaging in before that incident took place.

This is a good fight. Hughes basically paid Trigg back for everything he did to him after the groin shot and in brutal fashion. I loved that fight when I saw it live.

My main Style that i have studied since i was three is called Amer Asia Do. Its just basically a combination of different styles mixed into one. I guess it cant be called one style. Mixed Martial Arts if you will. Its funny how things turn out. Back when i was younger what we see now was just something my sifu was doing. With regards to the competition to which i was jumped, that was a judo comp. My Sifu needed someone to compete for him, and called me. Judo isnt my main style, but was something we were taught and became quite good at. I won, but then got jumped afterwards by the guy and his brother.

Judo is an awesome background to have,.. you see alot of cross-over strikers develop the frustrating ability to negate opponents shooting for their legs, and it cheapens the sport in my opinion,...... but when a striker fights somebody with a strong judo background...chances are, they're not gunna be remaining upright for very long, flipped onto the floor in the most spectacular way,.. nice trait Godfather, nice trait mate.
