...this is what is so great about the tournament format....it supplies us with a prolonged narrative both inside and outside of the ring. If it starts well, people will become engaged in the boxers and will keep coming back for more.

I liked it, for some reason it made me want Froch to win this thing, haha.
But Yeah should be good, the clear favorite is Kessler though...him and Abraham.
    Poor Taylor, lol.

I watched this yesterday, and have to say i thoroughly enjoyed it.....i found the scenes with the promoters particuarly intriguing....they all seem genuinely keen to really make this tournament work.

What do you think about Andre Ward's insistance on only fighting Stateside?....seems unfair that everyone else should make sacrifices

I hope everyone had a chance to watch this - particularly the folks at HBO, who need to take notes and rethink what they're trying to accomplish with 24/7.

24/7 is greatness. One of the best things to recently happen to boxing.

That shit is awesome, am really excited about this tourney, even if it doesn't go beyond 2010. No soft touches or overachieving journeymen or former greats, just a bunch of guys close or at their athletic and/or fighting peak who want to win badly

It's better when it's not used to prop up mismatches...actually, maybe that's when it's at it's best, giving those weekly half hour sales pitches to those less knowledgeable about boxing.

Lots of fights end up being mismatches.

Like most, I'll be surprised if this thing plays itself all the way out, but it sure is cool if it does.

Froch is the one guy who I can't see winning it and he has two of the better wins of anyone else in it, including a win over another participant. And all of them are likable enough that I won't really care who wins it.

24/7 is doodoo. Its entertaining, but its just a reality show take on boxing.

Reality shows are hideous, people just have no creativity anymore.

You mean you'd rather watch them in something more scripted?

Like a boxing version of the Hills?

    I can see that.
