Abraham TKO 10 Taylor: Taylor will wear down late as usual, and get caught w/something big from AA which he wont recover from.

Dirrell W12 Froch: The SMART money is on Froch, but I'm picking the upset off of a gut feeling I have that Dirrell will just be too fast for Froch. But whether Dirrell, or Froch wins, either result wont surprise me. Its really a pick em.

There was a prediction thread put up a little over a week ago....my Abraham-Taylor prection remains the same....Taylor UD.

But i've had a chance to see more of Dirrell, and have to say, after all that i read, i wasn't all that impressed. Sure, he's very quick, but he's not as hard to hit as i imagined him to be. Also, i think Froch might have a point about Dirrell struggling at the weight....late on that, combined with Froch's strength and will, could be telling.

I can see another late Froch stoppage....Froch KO 10

Froch only has fans because he's from England, though, he's renouncing his citizenship so he doesn't have to pay tax to 'people who cant be arsed to work' ..and he can be Hitler, he can insult the English race every minute of every day and they'll still follow him in hooligan droves because Carl Froch of Eastern European lineage, still represents the 'greatness of the empire' ,.. and really, his fans are no better than Fraud-groupies. :crafty:

I agree with Adam, I don't see anything special in Dirrell. He's speedy, but that's about it.

He doesn't seem to hit that hard, his defense isn't great, and he's not even that accurate. He just has fast hands and decent movement.

I'm picking Froch based on the fact he's more proven really, I've never rated him much, but he HAS proved he is a tough, determined fighter.

    Taylor UD Arabham

    Frock TKO 11 Dirrell

I am picking Taylor even though he is shot. I just think Abraham is that much worse. I woudn't be surprised if Abraham won though. After all Taylor lost to Froch who is awful.

As for the Froh fight, Dirrell has fought no one and Froch is no one special. I wouldn't be surprised if Dirrell won a decision. I am picking Froch by default because Direll hasn't done anything yet and Froch has beaten Pascal and Taylor.

wow, you must be the most least excited boxing fan about this tournament....all the fighters are shit!

On Froch, i am by no means a groupie. I have been very critical of him for along time, and even rooted against him at times....but he has proved me wrong in some aspects, and he has won me over with his last two performances.....he is so mentally strong, i can't fail but admire him for that....even if his defence is shocking.

I feel the same way. I used to be a Frock hater, I didn't like him, or his stupid style, I thought he was crap.

But I can't help but admire his determination and fighting spirit.

btw, you can get 5-1 against Taylor winning by decision. They are pretty tasty odds, but then again, being in Germany you'd expect Abraham to get the nod in a competitive fight. Still, tempting...

Why? Taylor has had his time to shine. He's been a good fighter, just never as good as some had hoped. Plus he's always been a bag of excuses. Abraham seems like a nice, and humble guy, plus he idolizes Tyson which is a plus for me. I'll be hoping AA knocks him cold.

I agree with you, except I think Abraham will KO taylor. Taylor just can't go 12 rounds anymore (not that he ever could)

It's pretty hard not to agree something when all 4 fighters are being picked in the same post.

I got Abraham by late stoppage. Taylor will follow the usual pattern of looking good early but will start gassing badly and Abraham should stop him by the 11th IMHO.

I'll also take Froch by late stoppage. Dirrell has quick hands but has fought absolute bums in his whole pro career and is thus hugely unproven. Froch, for all his defensive flaws, is a gritty and determined SOB who hits fairly hard. He'll get to Dirrell late on and stop him when he does, again around the tenth round.

Due to the inadaqucy of Mick Hennessey, I won't even be able to watch the fights because they are not being aired by Virgin Media. Real smart move...

On the contrary, I am excited by the tournament. Except for Kessler, none of these guys are great fighters and are very evely matched which is why it is so great. MMA is a bunch of bums all even matched. This tournament is ok fighters all fighting each other. I can't wait for it.

Froch is awful. Take away the last 30 seconds of the 12th round or have a corrupt ref like Librido Andrade had when he knocked Butte out and Froch got dropped and dominated by a shot Jermain Taylor. Yeah, the bum has heart and zero skill as well. He is lucky his first fight is with an unproven fighter. If Direll is decent, he will school Froch with absolute ease.

Dude, if you are going to troll all the time you should at least be consistant. I remember very well that you agreed after the Taylor fight that the score cards which had Taylor winning were a disgrace. Now you say that Taylor 'dominated' him?

Yeah. You'll have that. It's pretty hard for someone to be consistent on his points when everything he says is unconditionally negative and critical.

I still haven't seen AA fight so no opinions on that matchup.

But, I was watching some old Dirrell fights & now I'm really on the fence about this one. Dirrell fought a big(powerful), fast puncher in Curtis Stevens & Stevens couldn't land clean on him the entire fight. Granted Stevens isn't nearly as tall and rangy as Froch, but he's easily twice as fast & hits just as hard if not harder.

Bottom line is Dirrell has better movement than I thought & I could easily see him tagging Froch, making him miss & making it a long night for Froch in route to an easy UD. That said, I'm still going with Froch in a pick 'em but I wouldn't be surprised either way.

My guess is Dirrell is going to end up holding on the inside which could mean a very boring fight with a lot of stops and starts.

    Abraham KO 5.

I don't know why but I feel it's Dirrell's coming out party. Dirrell TKO 11.

And to take a page from Ike's book, I wouldn't be shocked by any of these other potential results :

Abraham KO/TKO 1-12, Taylor KO/TKO 1-12, Taylor or Abraham UD and I can't even rule out a draw.

Froch KO/TKO 1-12, Dirrell KO/TKO 1-12, Froch or Dirrell UD and I can't even rule out a draw.
