I agree with you on all that. However, The Pavlik that got hurt by Taylor was a different fighter than the one yesterday. The point on Froch is fair enough. I don't think Abraham is a great puncher, but he hits harder than Dirrell and Taylor and they both put Froch on queer street. I don't think anything was learned about Abraham last night at all. Same average fighter, same protective coccoon, same bullshit ref point deductions, same German judges.
Actually all of them fighting each other is better....the fighters involved are not that great..but still...
I see Tam's point of view on JT not being shot physically. However it's his mental stability that is the real question mark now. I already thought he looked unconfident last night when he seemed too afraid to throw anything other than jabs the whole fight. I can't imagine where his head is now. Also I can't think of anyone in this tournament that won't clearly beat him to a pulp and KO him again, so really what's the point for him?
so Abraham Ko's the weakest version of Taylor and now he beats Pavlik?:: Pavlik already Ko'd Taylor before him and Froch. Actually Pavlik beat him twice. I still want to see Pavlik and Abraham and I favor Pavlik. I wouldn't be surprised to see Abraham pull it off but I wouldn't make him the favorite. Pavlik is stronger IMO!
pavlik would punish abraham. He's a workrate beast and can punch your head off your shoulders as the rounds pass by. This will be worse that the beatin Miranda put on him.
Maybe, maybe not. I doubt we'll ever know, because Kelly doesn't seem real interested in fighting middleweights.
He did slow down, and the only reason he managed to move his hands all night is because ALL he did was jab. I mean really, he just jabbed all night.
There's 3 reasons for that. 1) All Taylor did was jab, barely threw a power punch, barely even timed his punches, just mindlessly jabbed all night. 2) Arabham clearly has a good chin. In fact it's his chin/toughness that I am more impressed with than his power. 3) Arabham fucking TURTLED BEHIND HIS GUARD ALL NIGHT.
Yup. I used to be a fan of Pavlik, but no more. He does deserve credit for fighting Tall Paul though. Especially cause its a fight he could very well lose. But after the Williams fight, win or lose, he needs to move to 168 and fight guys his own size. Dominating a division is one thing, but middle is weak as hell right now and Williams is by far the best challenger. Kelly needs to be at supermiddle where the quality fighters are.
Honestly, Pavlik would be ahead on the cards 6-0 mid fight against Abraham. The only question I have about this fight is if Abraham would still have anything left late in the fight, since Pavlik hits hard and has a real good workrate. I don't think you can just clam up with Pavlik and let him hit you like Abraham seems to like to do.
REED Can't Call Pavlik-Abraham, which Makes it All the MORE Frustrating that it Probably WON'T Happen... Pavlik has the PERFECT Blend of SIZE, AGGRESSION, WORKRATE & POWER to Compromise Abraham's High Guard & LACK of Activity...Yet Pavlik is Slow, VERY Hittable & Abraham Punches HARDER than Hopkins OR Taylor, who BOTH were Able to VISIBLY Hurt Pavlik... It's a 50-50 Fight in REED's Opinion... REED:mj:
Yes it is good, but only if you have a secondary winner that fights the winner of the tournament. You lose you arer are out of the tournament and fight for a shot later on, but I don't like double elimination. It's going to be years before we have a winner
