If Henderson gets a better contract some place else, good for him. I do hope they work out a deal though.
this is a great signing AGAIN for Strikeforce. Dan is on the back side of his career, but still a force to deal with for anyone. I would match him up immediately with Mousasi.
I'd like to see Henderson go to Strike Force. I don't think he'd be a big loss for the UFC, but he'd be a great addition to Strike Force. He'd give them another legit, bonafide top fighter. Although I do think Mousasi beats him. TFK
I agree with everything. There really isn't anywhere for him to go in the UFC. Its obvious they don't want to give him another shot at Silva. He would definitely start taking on a Gatekeeper role at 185 in the UFC. In Strikeforce, he has almost an immediate title shot, not to mention some nice fights with Babalu and Soukodju. Strikeforce would be smart to pick him up, it makes you wonder how much Dan is asking though.
Why does henderson who has already lost to Silva deserve a title shot so soon? Marquartd isn't getting one right away either. What about Okami? He hasn't even had one shot yet. Henderson shouldn't have got choked out the first time! I don't want to see these damn rematches.
I don't really want to see them neither, but when you KO the Dana White golden boy in Bisping and headline the TUF series, I am sure you feel somewhat entitled.
...i think it only really hurts UFC in the sense that it makes Strikeforce stronger. But really, amongst fans...i don't think there is a fight that people are really dying to see involving Henderson. Marquadt would be good...but that's not a headliner.
I guess Henderson will find out what his market value actually is right now. It's pretty much guaranteed that the UFC can pay more than any other promotion. Dan's probably using the whole UFC vs Strikeforce angle to try to get more money out of the UFC.
If its truly all about money, I would think you're right. Something tells me Dan is a bit pissed at getting passed up for the title shot. You know as well as I do that if Bisping won, he was getting the next shot at Silva.
I read somewhere that Henderson was looking for a 7 figure signing bonus. What ever the truth is, it's DEFINITELY all about the money.
