I wouldn't have stopped it. Cotto had his legs left he could have ran for the rest of the round.

    Wow. Just wow.

The fight was over when Manny just shook of that huge right hand Cotto hit him with. That has got to have been up there with the best punches Cotto has ever landed in his career and Manny hardly blinked. and 30 seconds later Cotto was down again.:fightme:

Manny is the best thing to happen to boxing in a very long time. He is not just beating top level opposition, he's destroying them. He ticks all the boxes of what makes a great champion.

    Pacquiao - Mayweather must happen.

How high can Pac go? I don't see anyone at junior middleweight i'd pick against him either?

I think Manny could win a belt at middleweight. I doubt Sturm or Sylvester could handle his speed and power.

cheers. as i said, Cotto could have done everyone a favour including himself and quit at the end of the 8th. I've never seen any shame in bowing out of unwinnable fights - but i despise getting off your stool without trying to win. Either way - Pac is the fucking man. Quite possibly the greatest fighter since Leonard.

Paul Williams and call me crazy Erislandy Lara maybe, but otherwise I think he can fuck up everybody below 168 except Pavlik and Mayweather.

I just hope there was no suspicious handwrapping that was allowed to slip by on behalf of the revenue Pacquioa generates, I'm a bit paranoid about wraps lately,...

    Man,I can't pick a Pacman fight for absolute shit:lol:

I'm like 0-4 in picking his last 4 fights. I got the "LOK" & Teddy Kellerman-esq touch when it comes to picking a Manny fight.

We are living in the Pacquaio ERA.

7th World divisional titles and not just against beltholders. He actually showed MERCY, could have stopped him sooner but wanted to go rounds with a full strong welterweight. After 4 rounds, going to the inside or the ropes were no longer a problem.

Cotto: "yes his angles made a difference, he was throwing from everywhere and i could not see 'em"

"I fought many good welterweights...and Pacquiao is one of the best ever"...

I think the question is does Mayweather want to fight Pacman, or will he get in the way of negotiations, or he could always get to his oldie but goodie, Pacquaio has lost 3 times and been knocked out already.

Now, the question is turned around, can Mayweather defeat Pacquaio?

Disagree. Cotto tried to change his gameplan and catch Manny while countering because his face was getting destroyed and trading with Manny wasn't working.

It didn't work but it was better then quitting on his stool. Like Merchant said he earned the right to go out any way he wanted.

I can't believe Manny can still take such big shots coming up in weight. Almost reminds me of Aaron Pryor on speed or whatever the hell Panama Lewis had him on. It's inhuman..............and Pryor never had to come up in weight to fight a bigger guy like Manny does.

I favored Cotto in the fight. That was pretty amazing.

Instead of commenting on any potential fight with the Tin Man, I'll refrain, as this is Manny and Cotto's moment, and there's a good chance the fight won't happen anyway.

The great part is every time Floyd buries somebody, Manny pisses all over the grave before the body is even cold.

Floyd wins a SD against Oscar.
Manny shuts him out and makes him quit in eight.

Floyd stops Hatton in ten rounds.
Manny drills him in two with a KO of the year ending.

Floyd shuts out Marquez in a size mismatch, but doesn´t force the stoppage. Manny beats the crap out of a better and bigger fighter and forces a stoppage.

    :lol::lol:

Manny Pac is the best fighter of this era. Bar none. There is absolutely no question about that in my mind, and anyone who tries to claim that Floyd is still the best of the current fighters is plainly mad.

Mayweather would lose to Manny and he would lose horribly. He knows it too, which is why he never, ever will get in the ring with Manny. I hope I'm wrong, because that is now THE fight to be made. There is no other possible substitute at this point.

Incredible. Just incredible. Worth staying up until 6am to see this guy- he's a true, once-in-a-generation type of fighter.

Couldn't agree more. This was the clearly visible turning point, where all of the questions as to what would happen when Manny got hit by a hard punching 147lb-er were answered.

And sadly for Cotto, the answer was 'nothing much'.

That was his gameplan gone right there. You could almost sense that Cotto wasn't overly fazed by the KD's, because he figured all along that as long as he stayed upright he would eventually tag Pac, and when he did, Manny would fall.

He eventually DID tag Manny, but when nothing happened, the jig was up and the last six rounds became a survival game.

One of the ko's of pac wasn't really a ko, it wan illegal power punch to the nuts. The ref never called it as such and gave pac's opponent a ko victory. The other ko pac suffered was a body punch ko.
