Is anyone else just jacked for this fight? This fight has got to be one of the best non-ppv title fights I think I can remember. The card is pretty good too, Manny Gamburyan/Leonard Garcia is a good fight. Has Manny ever fought at 145? I am really curious to see how he looks there. Any predictions? I really want to pick Aldo, but something tells me not to bet against Brown. I like Garcia over Gamburyan sub round two. anyone have the line up? I know Shane Roller is fighting, can't remember who. Same goes for Rob Macullogh. Wish they were fighting each other but I know they're not:: The DVR is set and ready to go!:cheer:
As dominant as Mike Brown has been lately, it's crazy what Aldo was able to do to him. Good fight! Aldo is no joke.
Seen the fight, very impressed. Anyone know if Aldo has any lightweight ambitions?....that division could do with a real good striker.
that is no joke, Aldo is one of the most well rounded fighters on the planet. He NEEDS to be discussed in P4P rankings. You know they are going to have him fight Faber soon, and he will punish him.
I could actually see Faber giving him some trouble with his speed. I wouldn't pick him to win though. ::
I completely disagree. I think he's faster. If Faber has anything, its strength. Which sure didn't help out Brown.
Watched the fight again last night, I will say that Aldo does have some quick hands. His foot speed isn't that great though, he's fairly flat footed most of the time. He's explosive though, mostly with those knees. Like I said though, I would not pick Faber to win that fight.
I DVR'd it. watched it this morning after seeing your post. His footwork does lack, and it could be a weak spot for Aldo. If a an explosive guy like Faber could spring at him and land a bomb with his feet flat like that it could be the way of getting in at Aldo. I was thinking too, this is probably the first fight we have seen this in, because it is truly the first fight Aldo has sat back and patiently fought a gameplan. Most of the time he is on his opponent from the bell in attack mode. Would be interesting to see if he respects Faber enough to fight the patient fight he did against Brown, or if he goes back into balls to the wall attack mode again.
