    Fight not made, line is
LAS VEGAS — The fight hasn’t been made yet, and may not ever happen. But this city’s casinos are already taking bets on who will win if Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. ever get into the ring.
Pacquiao, coming off his dominating win over Miguel Cotto, opened as an 8-5 favorite at sports books operated by Station Casinos, and it didn’t take long for bettors to take a side.
Several $20,000 bets were put down on Mayweather, forcing the line down to 7-5 in the early going, said Art Manteris, the casino operator’s vice president of sports book operations.

The boxing world has just been shaken now that they know that the casinos in Minnesota's fourth largest city are taking bets on this fight.

Can somebody put money there? I know of a sportbook that has Mayweather as a 2:1 favorite... :crafty:

I'm a gambling man and as much as I despise Floyd and love Pac, at anything above evens on Mayweather i'll be placing the biggest bet of my life.

I expected him to be @ 1.50 at best.

I expected Floyd to be the favourite.

By fight time he might be the favourite, who knows though.

Personally I wouldn't bet on this fight.

I sincerely think Manny will win (for example, I picked Oscar over Manny, despite obviously wanting Manny to win badly).

My official pick is Manny by decision, but I acknowledge there is a high chance Floyd could win an incredibly boring, safety first decision.

I don't think this is a good fight to bet on, either way.

i will bet a weeks pay on either guy if they come off at 2-1.(i doubt that will happen) this is a 50/50 fight.

i pick floyd to win but he should not be an underdog, let alone 8-5.

Since when is Manny a one punch KO artist? He will touch floyd here and there, but will get ouboxed and outclassed in the process.

Since his flyweight days all the way upto welterweight.

Seriously what is it with you and Manny? You seem to think the guy is nothing special

He knocked Hatton the FUCK out at Hatton's natural weight class, and however many weight classes ABOVE Manny's natural weight.

And then against Cotto, a solid welterweight, he knocked him down twice and fucked him up with single punches. They weren't barrages that knocked Cotto down and hurt him, they were single punches.

Manny has 1 punch power, always has done.

Agreed! Lets also point out Cotto took Mosley's, Margacheato, and Judahs best shots and didnt go down by a single shot to the chin. Manny is NO FUCKING JOKE.

pacquiao used to spar with jorge martinez here in ca who i used to train with. this was 03-04 and he always said pacquiao was not a hard puncher just a fast one.

but as he has gotten heavier his power seems to have increased. u can tell watching someone punch that they punch hard. i would say pacquiao punches fairly hard, but not like a corrales, chavez, etc.

a 12 yr old can drop you with a blind punch, and thats why pacquiao get so many KOs. blind shots from weird angles...all day.

They jobbed Marquez in the rematch, I think Pacquiao could win in controversial fashion.

    exactly

He's an incredible ko artist, but only a slightly above average puncher.

He muggs his oponent rather than put them unconcious (except for Ricky)

Pacman doesn't put much into his shots in sparring, he's not meaning to hurt guys.

Pacman does hit hard. You only have to look at his last 2 fights to see that. His power has actually increased as he's moved up.

Nobody else has even come CLOSE to doing what he did to Hatton and Cotto. Fucking them up effortlessly with single punches. Sparking Hatton clean out with 1 shot.

He doesn't hit as hard as Chavez? You have to be kidding me?

At world level at 140, Chavez's power was very average. He is probably the ultimate example of a grind you down, wear you out kind of fighter, as opposed to a 1 punch puncher.

I have absolutely no doubt at all that at 140 Pacquiao hits much harder than Chavez did, no doubt at all. Chico also hit much harder than Chavez.

How about that the two guys he dropped had already been smashed by previous opponents. Margarito damaged Cotto. Hatton was KO'd by Mayweather. He's fighting left overs. The only time he steps up and fights someone who still has something left, like Marquez, he gets smashed.

    Agreed.

Judah for all of his shortcomings had some good pop, specially with the left hand. He landed flush as hell on Miguel but he never fucked Cotto like Manny did.
