Are you named after what you cant do mija? it was "common opponents" since it has to be spelled out for you it's plural. Maybe if you saw those fights you would notice Pac looked better in 2 out of 3.

I've read the entire thread, I am almost ashamed to pick Mayweather over Pac when there are nutlickers here with Mayweathers dick so far down their throat they can't see their own bias.

common opponents came up a while ago mija, you just are biased and retarded from Mayweather cock down your throat for an extended period of time. I think Mayweather will go after the winner of Mosley-Berto so that he will have a WBC trinket to match Manny's WBA though even at this point trinkets shouldn't matter when this is a superfight. I think Mayweather will fight the winner of Mosley-Berto to have a WBC trinket. And yes Mayweather beats Mosley mostly by just using his jab.

Spare me the internet facade, you've definitely lost much more smack battles that you've won, outside of smacktalk you've proven to be one of the biggest laughingstocks along with Rubio WELCHER.

50-50 or the fight is not happening thats IT!!!....Mayweather doesn't need a trinket title...you think Mayweather is gone go against the winner of MOsley vs. Berto...risking a fight vs. Pacquiao...??? HELL NO..who you think he is? Manny Pacquiao?

50-50 is the mark...problem will come when Pac and Roach start asking for a catchweight....and both sides start bitching about glove size...brand...

Are you actually bringing up Marquez as a common opponent that he looked better than?
For one Marquez moved up 2 weight classes to fight Mayweather, although I picked Marquez to win(because I went with my heart not my head) PBF should have KO'd him and he couldn't put him outta there...
Pacman KO'd Hatton in 2 rounds and his BEST weight class... he took apart DLH in his very next fight after Mayweather...where DLH actually looked good against and some people thought he won...
    and PAcman iced him...
Please there is no point in bringin up the common opponent arguement cuz Pacman wins it...
If you bring up styles thats different and I agree...Mayweather wins it...
but please you are just blind right now.

Until YOU Showed your Smacktalk BATTERED Ass up, REED was Talking about COMMON OPPONENTS the ENTIREfuckingTIME...Since PRIOR to Mayweather-Marquez & even PRIOR to Floyd UNretiring, REED has Spoken of COMMON OPPONENTS...Do a "Common Opponents" Search & REED's Name will Likely Come Up MORE than ANYBODY ELSE'S...

Waaaaaaaaaay Toooooo Much Built Up ANGST from Messageboard "Battles" LOST...Yep, that's What it Is...

REED is Bringing Up Marquez Because if U Compare his Time in the Ring w/Floyd to his Time in the Ring w/Pac, his Time in the Ring w/Floyd was MUCH WORSE....Is that BECAUSE of Weight, Age, Size or Whatever Else???....Sure, but THE BOTTOM LINE Is, he Looked WORSE In his Fight w/Floyd than he Did w/Pac...

So AGAIN, if U Pac Sac Swingers Wanna Use that "Looked BETTER Against Common Opponents" Shit, Go ALL THE WAY w/that Logic...Pac DID NOT Look BETTER Than Floyd Did Against Marquez...

    PERIOD...

REED Would have NO Problem w/a 50-50 Split..."However" if Floyd Demands ANYTHING in the 51-55% Range, REED Thinks that's JUSTIFIED...

You ARE right up there with Rubio in terms of being owned. You got Mayweather cock in your mouth so long you can't discuss common opponents without trying to attempt to talk shit or spin off in another direction. And here I am picking Mayweather to beat Pacquiao.

I never used Rubios name, you just aren't that bright and thought I was him. I recall having to spell it out for you. What is it like to be the biggest laughingstock right next to Rubio WELCHER? Seriously some memorable moments came from you making an idiot of yourself. Usually afterwards someone would say nothing surprises them about you anymore.

Keep trying to convince yourself that you did good at smack with anyone in the past, but thats not the only thing you are delusional about, it's all part of the facade.

I can sort of agree. However, based on recent activity, I'd be more inclined to say both guys have a claim to a split like that. If it comes down to the fight not going ahead due to 5%, I'll be quite disgusted.

50-50 should be acceptable to all parties.

on november 14th pacquiao fought cotto and they made 1.25 million buys.

if instead the fight on november 14th had been floyd v cotto, would they have made more buys? that's the question.

comparing common opponents is incomplete, since history isn't a science, i.e. floyd fought the undefeated hatton while pacman fought a tarnished hatton, floyd fought de la homo while pacman fought a de la homo who'd already been beaten by a much smaller man, pacman fought a marquez who wasn't very famous and then fought a marquez that people had already seen him fight while floyd fought a marquez who was a big name.

today, going into the negotiations for this fight (time goes forwards, not back), who generates more buys? surely it's pacman.

(sorry if this has already all been said; there's a lot of silliness in this thread.)

The way all fans argue back and forth regarding pacquiao's and Floyd's common oponents I can only inmagine how those negotiations with Floyd's camp and Top Rank will go.

What's refreshing is that both camps recognize that this fight is bigger than boxing and has to be made. People always say that there is too much money in this fight not to make it happen.

But I wonder what they estimate as the purse for both guys for them to be able to swallow their pride somewhat and come to an agreement.

I'm just quoting what Floyd said. He said Marquez was a bigger draw than Mosley because Marquez had a "whole country behind him". He can't then turn around and say Pac only sold more because he had a "dance partner". It's a direct contradiction

Yeah Mayweather beat Marquez alot better than Pacman (as I didn't think Pacman beat Marquez) but PBF did it to older and fatter Marquez.... it was a great performance but to use it as a common opponent thing to make PBF look better...ridiculous in my opinion. Yeah I think Joppy's win over Duran was a lot more clear and impressive than SRL's wins over him so therefore against common opponents Joppy is better...
(yeah I kno ridiculous it was a matter of decades between...but come on....u get what I'm saying)

Yahr forgetting the fact that Pacquiao didn't weigh in a juiced up 144lbs to fight Marquez, that makes a big farkin' diffrenssss

Why people argue in favor of a particular fighter's purse split? I don't know but for me that's freaking ridiculous. The only reason I can see is that they prepare their excuse in case the fight isn't made. I hope this fight is made and I hope both fighter's team aren't dumb enough to refuse what will probably be the most important fight of their career just because they think they're bigger than the purse split is suggesting. Especially considering they're both bond to make a 8 figure payday.

Being as dumb as you guys , I'll add my grain of salt to the purse split debate : I think both fighters are comparable draw in the US, and if one is more popular than the other, it is only marginally. A purse split of 50-50 is what common sense dictates.
