well this one isn't hard to figure out. Hatton actually landed a punch on Mayweather (a punch) and landed 0 against Pac.

Fighter's views on things should always be disregarded.

this is akin to listening to (insert first name) Mayweather (insert jr./sr.) about anything. Boxing people are usually very bad at this kind of thing. Take Teddy Atlas for example.

Why do you try to arugue with him REED.

This is the same guy that proclaimed Pac as the GOAT on day, and said he would have to see the weigh in to pick the winner between Floyd vs Pac before picking the winner the next.

Yeah I'll go with a nerd on the web named jaws instead of Ricky Hatton who's fought both men.

:nono: Jaws correctly predicted the winner of Pac-Hatton, while Ricky picked completely wrong guy to win that fight.

That's nice but of course in the same article he admits he picked Cotto against Pacquiao to.

Jaws is correct about that fighters always say what makes them look better. It is not lying but some kind of a psychological thing which I think their mind demands. Mike Tyson said Ferguson was better than Douglas. Holmes said Shavers hit him harder than Tyson. Briggs said Foreman hit him harder than Lewis. Hatton actually won a round against Floyd so I am not surprised he picks Floyd.

I do think Hatton is correct and he might even have analyzed the match-up, but any time fighter picks on fights that includes his conquerors I take it with huge grain of salt

These are exactly the examples that I was going to use to make the same point.
Holmes "Tyson was a very sharp puncher but Shavers hit harder"
Briggs "Lewis hit hard, but when George hit me I saw God" (not exact quotes).

Yeah, but I noticed in another recent TV interview that he expressed no desire to fight little Pac again, but was quite keen for another go around with Mayweather.

Yeah: as much as I like Hatton, and always have, his reaction to the Pac loss has been bitter and delusional. His recent TV interview, where he honestly (in his mind) proclaimed to have been battering Manny in round 2 prior to being knocked completely unconscious (before he hit the canvas, no less) by a 'lucky punch' made for unpleasant viewing. He also, as pointed out earlier, picked Cotto to beat the shit out of Manny, and we all saw how that one panned out.

A good old fashioned pinch of salt might be the order of the day here...

    Not a chance.

Since the fight, Hatton has seemed utterly bitter that he got fucked up so easily by Manny. He gives Manny no credit at all, none.

It's kind of like most fighters always saying someone they beat is the hardest puncher they've fought, rather than someone who knocked them the fuck out

    This isn't surprising.

As the Brits on this site are well aware, Hatton seems completely bitter and delusional as MTF just said, for having been hammered with such ease.

I think he showed his genius boxing mind by coming up with a working battle plan which allowed him to defeat the 170 lbs monster Castillo by a quick KO

Ricky also thought he would beat both men. also dont fighters always diminish the guys who whup them bad? In hattons mind, the whole Pac KO only happened because Pac was lucky or Hatton had overtrained or the stars were aligned with Venus or he had a bad nights sleep etc

I'm sure Double L predicted just such an outcome (quick KO by Hatton), so I still see no evidence that Hatton's boxing mind is any better than Double's.

Yep. Like UGTB said, asking for fighters opion's on guys that have beat them borders on pointless.

If you asked Hasim Rahman he'd probably say Lennox hit harder in their first fight than in the rematch.

"I think Mayweather would win because he's just so good defensively and hard to hit. Pacquiao gets better with every fight. I didn't fancy him against Miguel Cotto earlier this month but he smashed him to bits. I was blown away," Hatton said to the Daily Record.

"If i had to put money on it, I'd tip Mayweather though. He has the style and shuts up shop so you can't nail him. Mayweather is so good he doesn't let you get any punches off. If he makes Pacquiao miss he'll take the sting out of him."

Did Ya'll even Bother to REED what Hatton Said...That DOESN'T Sound like a Sour Grapes Prediction @ All...& those that R Picking Floyd Cited SIMILAR Reasons to Hatton...

yup, even Manny is not immune to this. he himself has said before that out of all the 3 great Mexicans he fought, MAB hit the hardest. not Erik who beat him once, nor JMM who gave him a draw and his hardest fights in recent years, but mf'in MAB--whom he beat the shit out of in the first fight and easily decisioned in the second.

I read what he said, but for the reasons I gave earlier, I'm taking it with a pinch of salt.

Hatton has been on UK TV a fair bit recently and has talked an ever increasing amount of rubbish. In the Hatton-NDou broadcast, he gave an impassioned defence of his performance against anny, claiming with a straight face that he was beating Pac up in round two and was caught by a lucky shot which KHTFO.

Moreover, IMHO Manny is actually FASTER than Floyd which gives him every chance to catch Mayweather in a way that Hatton never really did when he fought Floyd. That is the KEY factor in this fight for me, and the fact that Hatton misses this is surprising and lends less credence to his 'analysis'.

Oh, and Ricky, as much as I like him, is as thick as fuck...

I agree that Mayweather will win and for some of the reasons Hatton listed.

However i just can't take boxer's predictions seriously when they've fought one of the guys before. I bet you if Hatton beat Manny he'd predict Pacquio would beat Floyd.
