that KD where floyd pulled back then turned his weight back over into the punch in an instant was one of the most impressive things Ive seen in a ring
yeah i think he asked him about who would win the superbowl. Lamps apologized after that, saying it was insulting to Henry.
No, Lampley didn't ask. He was talking about that on air and Floyd over heard him and gave his prediction while laying on the ropes. Bruseles was fucking hopeless in there. ::
It was before the '05 AFC and NFC title games. Floyd over heard them talking about a Patriots game and in the next round Lamps asked Floyd for a pick on the other game and Floyd sais "I like Mike Vick"
It was the Superbowl that featured the Eagles and Steelers, wasnt it? He picked the Eagles I swear. I thought he also said something about Mike Vick sometime as well.
That goes to show you how great a fighter Mayweather was at one point in his career, as he dismissed a very good contender in Henry, who did everything correct and by the book. Henry was burned out in heated sparring sessions with Miguel Cotto, whose style he emulated, but it wouldn't have mattered either way as Floyd then was the best and unbeatable. Karl
Bruseles was always a pretty good fighter. Well schooled, good technique. His problem was that his chin was of the finest quality china and considering he fought the majority of his fights as fire-fights, he was never going anywhere positive for very long.
Back when top rank promoted both of them? When they were BOTH undefeated and all time greats...because they hadn't lost.
yea i remember roy jones and lampley talking about eagles vs. falcons and floyd yelling 'falcons'. mayweather got shitted on by every member of the media for taking on a telefutura fighter although i forget who the public was clamoring for him to fight.
It wasn't Vick he said he liked - it was McNabb. Vick wasn't with the Eagles at the time. Eagles of course were scorched.
I was actually at that fight in Miami with Jake. Props to him for getting me a ringside media pass. The fight in itself was shit, but what I remembered most was how empty the arena was. Floyd was cool and down to earth as he was in his dressing room being interviewed by the media after the fight, which was unexpected.
i like how this fight was so bad that no one is willing to re-watch it to find out what was actually said. ::
