He'll still fight Roy, our beloved Hops is immuned to everything, opponents, rules,.. he's an old school masterful legendary sweet scientist and hall of fame bound American fighter, he just got away with clinching his way to a disgusting eye searing pot shotting win over a fucking scrub with no dissent as usual. You'll get what Hops gives you, and you gunna appreciate it, and this forum certainly will .
All the reports over here suggest that he plans on fighting Haye. Both the BBC and Boxing Monthly have said so in the last week or so... MTF :dunno:
In that case Kauki is finally gonna get his fantasy of seeing Hopkins stretched out and hospitalised. Crazy fight for B-hop
Couldn't agree more. I didn't actually believe it until I read it twice, and even then I'm still not convinced. Still: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/8392255.stm MTF
I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Haye fight happens. If Haye goes to the table with the Klitschkos, and they start making silly demands, then Hopkins would present the next biggest fight out there for him. In fact, could this just be a cynical Golden Boy ploy to give Haye more negotiating leverage with the brothers?....unlikely, but it will have that effect. As for the fight, i'd fear for Hopkins personal safety, and i don't even like the guy. For once, Haye wouldn't have to worry about his opponents power. The Dawson fight is so glaringly the fight that should happen, that it probably wont, because this is B-Hop. Bute and Adamek are options too. He needs to get a move on, he's been pissing around ever since he beat Pavlik.
What´s that supposed to mean? Don´t remember people being so critical, when the light-heavyweight champ Joe Calzaghe chose to fight Roy Jones instead of Dawson. Yet Hopkins at the tail end of his career needs to fight Dawson, but Dawson rather drops his own belts before he fights his mandatories Cloud and Pascal. It would be re-freshing, if Dawson actually took on people his own age for a change. :: Hopkins looked poor against Ornelas, but it would be hilarious, if he beat Haye and became a heavyweight champ. Then people would complain he picked on the smallest guy, instead of the Klitschkos. ::
Nuh uh,.. Hopkins will hunch up into that measured bitch ball, and fucking sprint around the perimetre,.. he'll cuddle, scream, scratch, cry, dive out of the ring,.. and then leave it up to his idiot american sportswriter fan base to award him the score. Hopkins job is to run from the action, and stop the action with a pot shot inbetween, we've learned to appreciate that. Hopkins has Ruiz-esque longevity, the difference is Hopkins is celebrated as some masterful 'old school' icon, and he can do as he pleases because he's a hero for beating a welterweight and having a ridiculously glorified 'Sven Ottke' mandatory reign, that gives him the title 'Legend' as if it were fucking 'Mr'.
Haye is as quick a heavyweight as you're liable to see nowadays. If Hopkins takes this fight and runs around, he'll get sparked. Relax, brother Kauki, relax... MTF :crafty:
See, where Hopkins is supposed to get sparked,.. it's hard to knock him out when he's running away from range,.. and Hopkins offense consists of one timed pot that mutates into an immediate clinch,... it's the DREADED bow and arrow stink technique, there will be no oppurtunities for Haye to do his job. See Hopkins fights turn into such grotesque slush that you end up having no idea what the fuck is going on, you can barely remember any punches in the round of which to score to either fighter,.. so you just give it to Hops because he's legendary and 'going for history' ..ofcourse.
It should happen because they are the best two light heavyweights. Had Calzaghe not retired, i'd feel the same way. Dawson has solidified his position since Calzaghe chose to fight Roy, who hadn't just been destroyed in a round. I wouldn't give Hopkins a hard time for taking on Haye. It may not be THE but it is a heavyweight title, and would present huge challenge for him. But i don't want to see fights against the likes of Ornelas at light heavyweight...if that is his division, then take on the best.
As long as its off HBO, he can fight as many Espinos as he likes until the market says otherwise. I don't like to see him fight anymore, didn't like the Pavlik fight, not the Calzaghe fight, nor the Wright fight, he deserves all the credit for getting the wins, but he would probably make Haye look boring.
It's not even a title Adam-ant, the WBA ripped it off Chagaev because he had the nerve to fight Wlad.
well Hopkins has spoken about Haye being a possible opponent....we discuss things like this on a boxing forum.
Hopkins wants to fight Haye. The fact that you hate Haye kinda makes your opinion in this matter worth, well, not a lot... MTF ::
Haye has to fight Ruiz first and surprise surprise Valuev has a rematch clause. So Hopkins would be around 50 till he could get to Haye.
I agree we shouldn't overlook Ruiz. But i don't think there is much danger of Sauerland exercising that clause, by the look on Kalle's face after their man had just lost his title, they were very much on the Haye bandwagon. But yes, the possibility is there.
It's a bit hard for Brits to blame people for resenting Haye, 'The heavyweight saviour' ..gunna kill them Klitschkos and make boxing.....'right'.... again. He wears the torn heads of the brothers, says he'll save boxing from 'white Ivan Drago robots' with hysterical reception from American scribes ofcourse, gets the unwarranted oppurtunity to fight both of them, which is what he said he wanted so, so, so badly,.. with the pre-vigilant emphasis on the Klitschko's avoiding him,..he withdraws from both fights, and participates in a fix for a belt that's less than paper,.. and declares himself 'champion of the world'...with some mandatories to come. Haye's 'refreshing' for boxing.
I think Haye knows full-well that he has to beat the Klitschko's to call himself the best heavyweight on the planet. And i can't recall him saying anything to the contrary.
I remember reading on boxingscene post fight that Haye declared himself, the heavyweight champion of the world,.. the cruiserweight champion,..and now the heavyweight champion.
So far I am not impressed with the names I've seen discussed as Haye's possible upcoming opponents: Valuev, Ruiz, Holyfield and now Hopkins. This just in. The Heavyweight division continues to suck.
