He wasn't fucked over at all. It's either a dq or an NC. There is not other option when a fight ends like that.

He's been on TV twice. One of which was on Nov 20 when I was in Vegas.

Forgive me for not seeing every MMA fight on every MMA televised card.

Yeah I can understand that. But why isn't there an option? Why isn't there the 5 minute break like in boxing?

Best part of the entire show was the Kimbo slam, that was sick. IMO, Kimbo definitely deserved the decision. I don't even qustion the 30-27 card. Anyone saying EITHER guy clearly won the first is fucking high, if there was ever a round that both guys LOST this was it! I can't really see giving it to either of them. 10-10 is the fair call, nobody did a damn thing. Kimbo clearly won the second and he did more in the third. Easy to score, I had it 2-1 Kimbo.

Nice KO from Roy, that was awesome. He will now be fed to the wolves.

Big Baby should just hang em up, he doesn't have it in him. I think he should just keep training BJJ and get into some grappling competitions. He could do really well there, but he's not going to do good in a sport where you get punched in the face. His chin is not good at all, and his defense leaves him wide open to get hit, very bad combination. I knew the Meathead fight was a bad idea.

As for Matt Hamill, I am pretty sure he was as surprised as everyone else that Jones got DQ'd. I'm pretty sure he thought he lost too. He wasn't "looking for a way out" or anything like that, the ref just waved it off like it was a stoppage win for Jones. Strange fight, Jones destoryed him no matter what the decision was.

Even in boxing, if there is an intentional foul and you take the full 5 minutes, you will win by dq if you cannot continue.

The exception is for a low blow and since the exception happens more often than other intentional fouls, everyone gets it screwed up.

Of course, I say that without looking it up, and I could be completely wrong.

But, if you think back to Genaro Hernandez vs Azumah Nelson...Genaro was going to win by dq if he could not continue. In fact, they even let him have more than 5 minutes to recuperate which is against the rules, but anyway, Genaro was given credit for fighting on because he didn't have to in order to get the win.

As far as giving the ref 'the option'...well, sometimes there is an option, even if there isn't supposed to be...Bowe Mathis being an NC, Floyd not getting dq'd against Zab.

They are saying the elbows did cause the cuts and that it was confirmed using an instant replay. The first time an instant replay has ever been used in a ref's ruling. Which is a cool concept I wish they would use it more. Especially in boxing when someone gets cut and there is confusion as to what caused it.

With that said, I hated this DQ. Jon Jones beat the shit out of Hamill.

Honestly.....how can anyone not like Frankie Edgar???:cheer: The guy is tiny compared to most in the division, yet just keeps piling up wins. I don't blame him for staying in the UFC at 155, even though I would love to see him fight at 145. Frankie is a badass.:kidcool:

Crap loss for Jones. This guy is going to be big, fightfans, just stay tuned:hammert:

Houston really disappointed me, WOW. Thats all I can say. I like Kimbo, I just think its too late in the game for him to advance far enough in MMA to ever be in a title hunt.

good win for Meathead. I would love to see him and Kimbo next.

Something about McSweeney that makes me hate him. titties needs to go on a diet and go back down to 205. REED called him out bigger than life. I think he said exactly that he'd comeback from the show in even worse shape. Good call Brother REED:kidcool:

Roy blew me away with that KO. I expected him to win, but on the ground. I see him doing ok in the UFC HW division. He'll beat some guys we don't expect him to, but never really be in the title hunt. I just really think its funny how Dana hates him so much. You could even hear it come through in the announcers:lol:

Yeah I am really high on Jon "Bones" Jones. The dude has an exciting style. Has some greatr slams, good wrestling, and sick unorthodox striking. He actually reminds me a lot of Faber minus the length. Hopefully his careless striking doesn't get him caught like it did Faber though.

He was extremely impressive against Hamill.

    But he deserved the loss.

    agREED on ALL Counts...

Correct REED if he's Wrong, but Isn't "Cage Control" the SAME as "Ring Generalship" Is in Boxing???...If So, that's the 1 CLEAR Element that Kimbo DOMINATED in the fight...Kimbo Got in there Trying to Do what he USUALLY Does...Conversely, Houston Alexander Fought like a SCHOOLGIRL...He RAN from Kimbo the Entire 1st Round & Kimbo WASN'T Good Enough to CUT OFF the Ring...Like U Said, NEITHER Dude "Clearly" Won Round 1...Round 2 ISN'T Debateable & he Won the 3rd...

MMA Prides Itself on Being COMBATIVE, but Houston Alexander was Anything BUT That...He Seemed SPOOKED by the Street Myth of Kimbo & Fought to SURVIVE...Fuck that...

It's Time for Roy Nelson to SINK or SWIM...He was Head & Shoulders Above the ENTIRE TUF Class this Season...U'd Expect him to B NICER Considering his Physique...EVERYBODY Loves the JOVIAL, HAPPY Fat Guy...Roy Nelson has an OVERINFLATED Opinion of Himself w/a Stomach to MATCH That...The ONLY Thing Bigger than his Ego is his GUT, so Hell Yeah, Match him VERY Tough in his Next Fight...

Marcus the Darkness is ALARMINGLY Fragile...The Shots that KO'ed him Weren't THAT Hard...He's Got 1 of THE WORST Chins that REED's EVER Seen....

Matt Hamill BEHAVED like he LOST, During the Post-Fight...& He Got his Ass WHIPPED...It's CRIMINAL for Jon Jones to have a "Loss" on his Record After a Performance like that...

Z, it's unfair to say Big Baby "doesn't have it in him". That would insinuate he doesn't have the heart or spirit of a fighter. He does get in there and fight, he doesn't lack balls.

He simply has an awful chin, truly awful.

It's weird the way you can never judge a book by it's cover.

So many fighters that don't look tough at all have excellent chins, and then many hulking brutes like Big Baby have absolutely glass chins.

I'm glad Kimbo won, but fuck, Alexander's performance was shocking.

He has looked downright vicious in the past, but he ran like a bitch against Kiimbo.

It's not like he was greatly undersized either, wasn't Kimbo only about 5/10 pounds heavier?

Thought so. Damn, only 4 pounds.

Kimbo did actually look like the bigger man, but ultimately it's weight that counts.

Kimbo's huge shoulders make him look big, but he has pretty skinny legs etc.

Where as Alexander is pretty solid and chunky from head to toe.

Yep...Kimbo's EXTREMELY Top Heavy & he's Actually LOST Quite a Bit of Weight from his Youtube & Elite XC Days...He's ALOT more RIPPED than he Used to B...REED Thinks the TOPHEAVYNESS has Contributed to Kimbo's Arthritic Knees...Dude has MIDDLEWEIGHT Legs on a Heavyweight Body....

REED has to Admit that it was Pretty COOL that Roy Nelson's Entrance Music was "I'm FAT" by Weird Al Yankovic:lol:....He's Not a BAD Guy, but he Tries Tooooooooooo HARD to B Funny...He's like a Wannabe Forrest Griffin, MINUS the WIT...

Yeah I was really surprised Houston ran like a bitch, I never thought of him as anything but an aggressive slugger, that just wasn't the same dude in there. And yes, I agree on the cage control thing, that is a part of the scoring just like in boxing. One guy came to fight, the other didn't. It's that simple.

Hamill is a class act. He'll never be an elite fighter, but he's one of those guys that deserves to stay in the UFC as long as he wants to.

absolutely. He's a great gatekeeper. Everyone was amazed at how easy Jones beat him, because he has fought some really good fighters and never been handled like that. I love what he said about his record, obviously, he doesn't the fight to Bisping a loss neither:lol:

Houston really blew his wad. He was in a win win if he put on a show regardless of the outcome. If he went out there gunz blazin and KO'd Kimbo he would've got more fights out of Dana for sure. If he went out gunz blazin, fought hard but got KO'd by Kimbo, Dana still could've used Houston for another fight or two beings he was exciting. Instead he ran scared and lost a putrid decision. Dana has no use for him.

I would seriously love to see Jones/Bisping too bad Bisping went down to 185.:fightme:
