You haven't got a clue have you?

That was one of the most decisive quit jobs in boxing history against Chico.

It's not like it was a potentially ambiguous quit job like some, ie - you're in the corner between rounds, people ask if you want to continue, you say nothing, just sit there looking forlorn and they stop the fight. Technically you didn't quit, they pulled you out.

Against Chico, Freitas got knocked down, got back up and was about to fight, then suddenly turned around shaking his head and hands. It was as obvious as any quit job in history.

And then he fucking celebrated too.:atu: He actually celebrated packing it in. If you just turned the fight on, it looked like Freitas won.

EDIT: that was the Diaz fight. Fuck him, he is still a tard.

He was getting pummeled, falling down from everything that hit him, and had no chance to win at that point.

Call that quitting if you will, but then so did McClellan.

Just because a fighter can get off of the canvas doesn't mean he can or should continue to fight. That he took so much punishment to that point shows that he wasn't quitting in the common derogatory meaning boxing fans like to throw around.

That you try to suggest that the guys who quit in the corner because their corner pull the trigger and that's not worse than Freitas...well, that's just symantic bullshit. Freitas didn't quit because his frigging bullshit corner should have tossed in a towell against Corrales at that point. And they didn't. And to label a guy a quitter because his corner sucks is not fair or just.

Now, contrast the Corrales fight to Acelino celebrating a loss in the Juan Diaz fight. THAT is quitting.

When I'm wrong I have admitted it in the PAST over and over and over. It's TODAY'S headlines you don't like so you bring up Freitas every chance you get.

Perhaps that's what you are SCARED of. That Floyd would be beat by Pacquaio in devasting fashion and that people would be all over your ass for the knockout loss.

I personally couldn't care less about YOU. I just want to see the fight but your hero won't step in the RING with him.

Nice Try, but NOT 1nce have U EVER Said, "I Was WRONG about Freitas"...Instead, U MEEKLY Expressed "Disappointment" about him Quitting, THEN DISAPPEARED for the Better Part of 1-2 YEARS...

So 1nce & For All, ANSWER the Questions....

Did U WASTE TIME By Being the ONLY Acelino Freitas NUTHUGGER Known to Man???...Were U PROVEN to B WRONG by Investing your Boxing Heart in the Belief of All Things Freitas???....Is THAT What U're Saying???....

Address "Yesterdays Headlines" FINALLY, THEN Move On...Because as it Stands, U're THE LEAST Credible Floyd Hater on Fightbeat...

I find it disgusting that a guy who supports Acelino Freitas dares to criticize the fighter who not only didn't quit against Corrales, but completely destroyed the man, who made Freitas into his own bitch
It's like supporting Kostya Tszyu, while criticizing the fighter who not only didn't quit against Hatton, byt knocked Ricky out cold. Thank God we don't have anyone of that type on this board.......do we?

That is true and I defended that countless times, but when he threw a victory parade after he quit against Juan Diaz he kind of lost me.

    This thread is completely :eek:fft:

You know what an waste of time is? Indulging you FOOL into a boxing discussion. Bring in your ears real close: Fuck Freitas , Floyd and YOU!

I am no longer only a fan of a particular fighter. I am a true fan of the sport. I have my preferences based on PERFORMANCE and call them as I see them.

Floyd being a little BITCH now has absolutely NOTHING to do with Freitas in the PAST.

MTF is right. Indulging FOOLS is a waste of everyone times.

But like it or not I am here to stay and GOD permitting for a very long time.:partie:

    Don't bother, REED.
He'll reply with something along the lines of:
"I might've been SLIGHTLY wrong in the PAST, but me being fan of Acelino's has NOTHING to do with TODAY's question...blah...blah..blah"...

No. I've admitted tons of times that I thought Acelino had the goods to beat a lot of very good fighters but I was WRONG and extremely disappointed when he quit.

What's LIBERATING about that is that you stop becoming a fan of certain fighters, for whatever reason, ethinicity, styles, and start following the sport as a whole. You have absolutely NO CONTROL on what a fighter does. You could yell at the TV for them to get up, you could tell them to sign the contract to fight the best. What ever a fighter does has nothing to do with YOU and your values.

To whomever the hat fits, I highly recommend it!

Yes, he was more justified in quitting than some quit jobs, such as the Diaz one.

But that's irrelevant. It doesn't matter if you think he was justified or not, he DID quit, that's a fact. He turned his back on Chico and said he didn't want anymore. He was actually fairly clear headed too, he was just taking a beating.

It was Corrales' first fight at lightweight at a championship level. Before that he was being knocked down several times by Casamayor in their 2 fights.

His chin considerably improved. Freitas hit him with a lot of power right hands. Chico just kept coming. His left hook changed fights. At the later rounds, Freitas was being TIMED perfectly. The last knockdown was a combination of the last left hook he took and sheer exhaustion.

If that was the gameplan, to be in constant movement against the monster that was Corrales, he should have TRAINED properly and accordingly.

Never saw Freitas or Casamayor HURT before until they fought Chico.
