Also, and I haven't read past this point yet, I suspect Kauki will be rather upset at your description as Hopkins as an all time great...

This thread must have taken a difficult turn for you Kauki. I mean, who do you hate more- Haye or Hopkins?

Hopkins is the complete package,.. I dont think there will ever be a fighter in my lifetime, who can fuck boxing up worse than Hopkins,..every rule available, he breaks, every rule,.. apart from spitting and biting. Outside the ring it's business oppurtunism, performance enhancers and 'handwrapping tricks' ,..personality wise?.. he's an exposed sociopath, and a racist.

    Who can beat that? ...

Only in America, could such a vile feind, be loved and celebrated so much,...

This is only the WBA's heavyweight division; there is a whole other world of fighters you need to discover.

Once you do, you might conclude the heavyweight division still continues to suck, but maybe not.

I am aware of the entire division, so spare me your misguided attempts to talk down to me. I've been watching boxing since the 70's and this is the worst time for heavies I have ever seen. It's just dreadful.

If you think this is a good time for the heavies, your standards are very, very low.

Bernard Hopkins still insists that his rematch with Roy Jones Jr. is viable despite Jones’ first round KO loss to Danny Green. “The Executioner†implied that the stoppage was too early. “Let the man defend himself to the point where he’s either down or basically quit,†he stated. “Everybody knows what happens when you go over to Europe. That’s why I would never go over there.â€

    -------------------

Down comes the 'cunning disguise' ,... I love it when he exposes himself as the dumb bitch that he is, instead of the wise knowledgeable philosopher he likes to pretend to be in other interviews, all you gots to do is pose a good question against his plans to rort,... then,..*flag chucking flash* ..here's your real Hopkins.

Aside from it being shockingly stupid,.. does this prove that he was full of shit about going to Wales for a Calzaghe rematch?, perhaps that was just a press release stunt to ease his pain at the time.

probably....he either didn't really think the fight would happen anyway, or he was willing to go to Wales but in return for a hefty compensation package.

He is really clutching at straws if they think they can convince everyone by dismissing Roy's defeat as a poor referee stoppage. Howard Foster is 2nd only to the awful Terry O'Conner as my least favourite referee over here.....but he got Jones out of there at pretty much the perfect time.

yep, and these signs have been there for so long. Can you believe that the Tarver KO loss was over 5 AND A HALF YEARS ago?!?...and he looked done in their first fight

He's in denial. Or maybe he's just trying to perfect his slur, for a slur-rap career. It's the latest sub-genre.

We have two heavies right now who are better than the the champions earlier this decade (except Lennox) and better than everyone in the 80's except maybe Holmes and Tyson. I would also favor them over Holy and Bowe in the 90's. And they would have distinct advantages over the 70's guys.

It's so easy to cut on the current crop of anything. The 90's that are looked upon favorably now were slammed then. It never ends. So if I am talking down to you then you should understand why. It's such a tired statement without backing it up.

Is two enough to make it a good time for the heavies? Probably not, but they are two extremely good heavies. Something that never happened in for most of the 80's.

I hope Hopkins is the 4th major boxer to meet an "untimely" violent death. I hope he gets gunned down over in Toronto over there in Europe:lol::lol::

    Hopkins would beat Doorson.

Doorson is the 3rd most overrated fighter in the world after Goozman and Valero.

No, you are trying to talk down to me because that's your schtick. And it's rather boring. And none of what you have said here is fact, it's your opinion. So you are not backing up your opinion with facts, you are backing up your opinion with more of your opinions.

And both Vitali and Wlad are overrated by folks like you who really want this division to be good. The are the best of this current terrible crop of heavies, but that's about it. Vitali has a glossy record, but his resume is very thin. Sorry, beating up the fat crybaby Arreola didn't impress me even a little. Are you excited about Vitali's next fight? Really?

And Wlad, despite fighting in this crappy division, has managed to lose by stoppage three different times in his prime. And losing to Ross Purrity is completely inexcusable. Purrity is nothing more than a tough journeyman. And a fighter as good as folks keep telling me Wlad is should never have lost to him. That is like Ali losing to George "Scrap Iron" Johnson, Holmes losing to George Chaplin or Tyson losing to Bigfoot Martin.

And if Wlad could lose to the likes of Sanders, Purrity and Brewster, it certainly isn't stretch to think quite a few fighters from previous decades could also beat him.

It's not a good division. There are no compelling fighters or fights on the horizon. Some tried to make a case of Haye bringing some excitement into this stagnant division but now that he has won an alphabet belt he is not planning on facing the best around as evidenced by a possible "title" defense against 45 year old ex-middleweight champ.

Well the 'cunning brilliance' strikes again,.. although I'm not endorsing it,.. Hopkins wont charge Roy the way Green did,.. though if Roy is really paranoid about handwraps, his team had better watch Hopkins all the way to the ring,.. because he's going to harden that tape in ice-water, they're both on performance enhancers, but Hopkins does have the superior edge in both illegal pre-fight tricks, and in-ring illegal tricks.

This is all part of Hopskirts legacy...."Oh. Bernard...the man who would have fought anyone...Maskaev, Haye, Dawson."

Didn't he fight them? No. But he was going to, and, in Canastotaland, thats enough.

To top it off, if Jones KO'd Hopkins, Bernard might kill himself.

They're really going to fight? Talk about the epitome of irrelevance.

Roy needs to retire. Hop shouldn't be far behind.
