    Who wins? And how?

I'll take Benitez to win a decision.

Benitez would not only outbox Cotto, he'd beat the shit outta him.

as long as he trains a little, Benitez would utterly baffle Cotto and would win convincingly

It would be a terribly difficult assignment for Cotto --- I honestly don't know how he'd cope with the shoulder rolls, left-right feints, goose-step footwork, & upper-body movement of Benitez.

That said, I find myself asking that question of a lot of good & great fighters through history, between 140 & 154lbs. Those defensive shimmies & shifts in weight --- just not appreciated by judges (now, or in Benitez's day, sadly) the way they should be --- the way they once were.
