Well, even though Floyd deserves credit if this Mosley fight gets signed, there's no doubt that he is scared of Pacquiao, it's not even arguable.

If he wasn't scared, he would have signed to fight him, just like Hearns signed to fight Leonard.

I hope the fight does get signed though, it's an interesting fight for sure. I would have preferred to see it years ago, but it IS a fight I've always wanted to see.

Like I said, it's just annoying that we didn't get to gauge more accurately what Mosley has left by seeing him against Berto.

Shane is 38, I didn't even realise that, I thought he was about 36.

I don't think he is shot though. He's had some bad performances, but it's no coincidence that almost all of them have been at 154 - including the fairly recent fight against Mayorga.

Shane is a natural welterweight, his performances have been much better at 147.

LOL. Mosley is a tougher opponent than Pacquaio. IMHO.

Hey, Kenneth - you even said it yourself. When we were first discussing the roid issue etc, even though you were kind of siding with Floyd, you conceded the reason that Floyd suggested these tests and subsequently called the fight off because of these tests was fear of Pacquiao.

To be honest there's not really any other way of looking at it. If he cared about the sport being clean, he would have campaigned for better drug testing, and even tried to get the commissions involved.

If he was truly confident he'd beat Pacman, he'd just fight him, and think fuck it, I don't care what he is on, I'll beat him anyway.

I mentioned this in another post, but if he did sign to fight him anyway, then kind of teased Pacquiao about being on PEDs, that could affect Pacquiao's confidence (if he IS on PEDs).

Conversely, now that Floyd has demonstrated this fear of Pacman, if they DO fight, I have no doubt that Pacman is going to have the mental edge, knowing that Floyd wouldn't fight him without this rigorous testing (whether he is, or isn't on PEDs).

No he isn't. I'm a Mosley fan, I have been for years, but he is not better than Pacquiao in any way, nor is he more stylistically suited to beat Floyd.

I think you misunderstood me, Mex. What I meant was that he was scared Pac was a user. But I'm guessing Floyd probably knows better than you or I whether Pac uses. I doubt he is scared; particularly since he bent so much on the PED issue, from the # of tests, to the dates...everything.
Maybe he just wants to make sure Pac is clean?

Maybe. But I don't put my life on the line so it's not for me to judge.

I don't even know how to respond to this. I think asking for the tests was the right thing to do - particularly if you believe your opponent is juicing.
The only fear I see is one of needles.

    You're a nutter.

Pacquaio refused to take the blood tests. Mosley has agreed to them. Why should Floyd be scared of Pacman when Pacquaio already lost to Morales and some people think he lost twice to Marquez..who floyd embarrased.

Beating up an old and weight drained De la Hoya and an already busted up (by Margarito) Cotto (who showed scary vulnerability as early as the Corely fight)..isn't enough to make Floyd "scared".

Mosley is arguably a "scarier" fight, given Shane's toughness, size and heart.

Mayweather is the same guy who fought an undefeated Corrales, the "scariest Lightweight at the time....Castillo...and a rejuvenated De la Hoya who just destroyed Mayorga with ease in 6 rounds.

You are one ignorant cunt and i don't know why the posters here let you get away with this nonsense...

The thing is Kenneth, it boils down to the same thing. Fear of Pacman using, is fear of losing/less confidence of beating Pacquiao than most of the opponents he's faced.

Seeing as people like Danny Batcha-whatever fail drug tests, I'd say there's just as big a chance of ANY of Floyd's previous opponents being on roids as Pacquiao.

Floyd didn't demand extra testing from any of them. The standard post fight piss test was enough for Floyd in every one of his pro fights.

What have you have to ask yourself is WHY does he want to make sure Pac is clean?

Is it because he doesn't condone anything illegal, and Floyd wants the sport to be squeaky clean? Is it fuck

It's because Pacquiao worries him, and he is obviously less confident of beating Pacquiao than any other opponent he's faced.

If Floyd really fancies his chances against Manny, he'd agree to the same tests he's agreed to for every other opponent of his career, and laugh all the way to the bank.

People like to say "Oh Manny left 40 mil on the table, he MUST be guilty". By that logic, Floyd also left 40 mil on the table by not agreeing to Pacquaio's compromise, so by the same logic, he must be scared of Manny.

You're the cunt Sly, an utterly clueless cunt. You don't know half as much about boxing as you think you do.

All these years you've slagged Mosley off, and now suddenly he is a tougher fight than Pacquiao?

    Don't be a retard.

Guess what, every other opponent of Floyd's career didn't have to take a blood test. Just Pacquiao was taregted? Oh but it CAN'T be that Floyd is scared of him right? That's impossible?

By the way, this vulnerable Cotto you speak of, is the same Cotto that prompted this marvelous excuse from Floyd as to why he didn't want to fight him "He lives in Puerto Rico"

You're nothing but a nuthugger Sly.

    It's a part of denial.

    Mex has explained that:

    1. If you refuse to take the tests, you're innocent.

    2. Floyd was so agreeable to terms because he actually didn't want the fight.

Therefore, Manny pulling out actually means Floyd pulled out.

If he knew for certain, that he had seen Manny juicing for example?

If that was the case, he knew Manny was juicing, and that PEDs were something he relied on, I would imagine that Floyd would also know that Manny isn't going to stop taking those PEDs, and that asking for Olympic style testing would be futile.

So I would think he would either just fight him, or not even enter into negotiations with him knowing that he juiced, and knowing that Olympic testing or not, he was still going to juice.

That's part of what makes me think this whole thing was just a big bluffing match, that the March date wasn't even realistic, and that Floyd never really intended to fight Pacquiao.

Manny offered random urine tests, and 3 blood tests - including one right after the fight in his locker room.

That was an ample compromise, but wasn't good enough for Floyd. Fight off.

Even Jake, the unbiased grandfather of fightbeat, stated the window of opportunity for taking roids without getting caught would be slim under that compromise.

    Dude...

For the record..i think pacquiao is a tougher fight for Floyd than Shane is. I didn't say otherwise. What I said is that Shane is "arguably" a tougher fight...and by that I mean I can see the argument for this...and MANY people will believe this...maybe even Floyd himself.

But this is besides the point..

A man who's afraid of Pacquaio isn't going to fight Shane Mosley...who KOed the Cotto-Conquerer more quickly than Pacquaio Koed Cotto.

Think about it. Just think for one second, that's all i ask numbskull...

I just don't understand why a fan wouldn't support random drug testing. Screw all of this "he's scared" and "how do we know he's clean"...why wouldn't you? Outlander's post was so accurate, it's scary.

Well that is false and the Victor Conte, the godfather of PEDs, has said so.

Furthermore, Manny's FINAL offer of not being tested 24 days before the fight (urine or blood) is not...random.

Think about this for one second Sly, you nuthugger, Mosley - the guy that is "arguably" a tougher fight than Pacman, was beaten by Cotto, the guy that Pacman just paid a 1 sided beating on, and that Floyd didn't want to fight because "He lives in Puerto Rico"

Nobody in their right minds, that wasn't a nuthugger like you, would try to diminish Pacquiao's incredible wins at 147, and simultaneously try to add gravitas to Floyd's safety first decision win over an aging, 147 pound Marquez.

I mean fucking hell, what's wrong with you?

Whilst you were comparing opponents, you also forgot to mention that Floyd could only manage a split decision over Oscar, but Manny gave Oscar a fucking 1 sided beating and made him quit. Oscar was also "rejuvenated" after his impressive performance against Forbes, showing better stamina than usual.

You also forgot to mention it took 10 rounds for him to stop Hatton, and even lost a couple of rounds to Hatton. Pacman iced him in 2 rounds, Hatton looked like he didn't even belong in the same ring as Manny.

But those wins mean nothing right? Truly great wins look like Floyd's safety first decisions over Baldomir and an overweight Marquez right? :kidcool:

Hey Kenneth, I said before, I don't like the idea of ANY fighters taking roids, including Pacquiao. I was somewhat naive before, and it's not something that I even considered.

I've also boxed as an amateur and trained with pros, and I've never heard anyone mention PEDs. It's simply not something I was really aware of.

I think it would be great if there was better testing across the board.

But you don't target one guy for this testing, you do it across the board, and as should be fairly obvious, implementing better testing in boxing wasn't Floyd's motives, or it's something that would have been a factor in his career long ago.

Kenneth, you're wrong. 24 days was all about the blood. He felt taking blood weakened him (he is even on record as saying this years ago, after the Morales fight).

24 days was the cutoff for a blood test, he also agreed to the blood test right after the fight in the locker room.

He agreed to random urine testing before that mediation even occured.

Interestingly, USADA got a company to develop a urine test for HGH, what many people believe is the most likely drug for Pacman to be on.

Pacquiao agreed to random urine, what's the problem?

And believing anything Conte says? Come on, the guy is a fucking crook. That's like using something Arum said as evidence.

He's on record saying a lot of things. Why are you selectively listening?

Which, as Dr. Margaret Goodman, Travis Tygert and Conte have pointed out, means nothing.
Was this around the time he agreed to be blood tested as long as it wasn't within three days of the fight?

Even more interesting is that this test hasn't hit the market and is not used in boxing.

    See above.

How about all the other experts who agree with him?

By Floyd approching the NSAC, and saying that this megafight won't happen, unless they implement better testing.

Now you could say, easier said than done, but Floyd didn't even try.

I would like for there to be better testing, I would like to think that no fighters are on PEDs.

But you can't single out one guy and demand he take the tests.

If it started with this fight but became part of the NSAC's rules, great, I'm sure other commissions would follow.

But if Manny agreed to these tests it would change nothing. They would done for this one fight, and then it would be back to normal.

And the urine was significant. You said he didn't agree to random urine, he did.

A test exists for detecting HGH in urine. It's not being used now? What better place to start using it, than one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing, worth millions and millions? It has to start somewhere right? Get the test on the road, it's a perfect opportunity to use it.

What does the NSAC have to do with the fight not getting done?? And why would them implementing this mean that Pacquiao would HAVE to take the tests? Blood testing is already in their protocol, so is random testing! They just don't do it!!!
You can single out whoever you want when he's the only one youre negotiating with. The only "rules" that matter are the ones written on the contract you agree upon.
Can you imagine if Floyd refused to fight in 8oz gloves for the Pac fight because it wasn't under commission "rules?" Or refused the weight infractions for the same reason? Funny how the "rules" didn't matter then.
You think this is the problem, don't you? **Shakes head.**

Mex, he also agreed to blood testing as long as it wasn't the day of the fight. Then three days. Again, believe what you want. And finally, urine is no more important than blood or vice versa. They both detect certain things which is why people use BOTH.
Ok, let me ask you this question...in what sport is this "test for HGH" used? Did your article tell you that?

I dont understand defending Floyd on this. It doesn't make sense. He claims to want to clean up the sport, so he scraps a Pacquiao fight in favor of fighting a known steroid user, Mosley.

How can you guys not see that the PED thing was a ploy to tarnish Pacquiao.

Probably because the known steroid tester has agreed to the tests Pacquiao refused.

Floyd doesn't want to clean up the sport, he wants to make money. And he wants to win. It seems he wants to win a little more than make money when it comes to Pacquiao. And you blame Floyd for that?

Why don't you blame Pacquiao who would rather cheat or be able to cheat rather than make money or win, for that matter?

Hmm let's see. We have a guy that has never tested positive for controlled substances however admitted to using the PED while fighting but once again has never tested positive for the PED who is now willing to prove that he is not using any PED by agreeing to random blood and urine test to prove that he's not using PED's. Then you have a guy that has never tested positive kinda like the other fighter but refuses to take random blood and urine tests. Don't make much sense to me. I'll Holla 5000
