marquez just got beat up and is at the end of the line. it would be great if he pulled one out of the bag and wasted khan
I'll say it for the gazillionth time - Marquez has no business at 140, especially against a huge Junior welter. He looked like shit at Lightweight, frankly. Khan with ease.
Unfortunately, Marquez is too old and small to beat Khan. My initial thought was simply "Marquez better! Marquez win!". But it's not that simple. Unlike Pacquiao, Marquez doesn't seem very well suited to fight at lightweight/welterweight. He got a couple of very good wins at lightweight, but looked vulnerable in both of them. And against Floyd he looked old and undersized. Khan is too big, too young, too fast and too busy for Marquez. Of course with Khan's chin, anyone with a half decent punch does have a chance :kidcool:
I think a fight that makes more FINANCIAL sense for Marquez is to fight Hatton at Manchester Arena with over 30,000 fans. Hatton is still loved by Britain.
100% correct. Just couple of days ago, I FORCED one Khan-hater to admit that even people who DON'T like Amir, are paying top $$$$ to see him fight.
I thought that would be the fight for JMM and Hatton over this one. I don't know why JMM would fight Khan first, unless he wants to even the field against shot Hatton.
You didn't prove shit. You said that one of your favourite moments was watching Khan being sparked "in front of his adoring fans". Of course, Khan's "adoring fans" total less than 1% of the UK population and Slice and Dice, which you denied and tried to claim was untrue. Then, after it was proven that Khan is so disliked in Britain that his PPV sales are an embarassment, that people were paying money to watch him being sparked and that he is moving to the US to get away from the people who despise him, you twisted like a pretzel and started instead arguing some completely different rubbish. Your trolling on this topic has been an epic, epic fail- so bad has it been that I have now completely refused to engage you in it any longer. Oh yeah, and I am such a "Khan hater" that I produced a detailed pre-fight review of the Khan-Salita fight for this very site in which I defended Khan and contested the very reasons he is so disliked. You can't even troll THAT right... MTF :atu:
For the record, here is the thread in which Dymi made himself look like a complete idiot: http://fightbeat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32478&highlight=Amir&page=2 That's right: Amir Khan is "beloved" in the UK. Except of course that 1. His PPV's are so poor that the figures are surprsessed. Only one was ever mooted- he sold 30,000 for the Kotelnik fight. That's right- 30,000 2. People pay, as Dymi correctly puts it, top $$$ just to see him KTFO. I witnessed this myself at the Khan-Salita fight, which I attended, when several people around me shouted racist abuse at Khan as he entered the ring. 3. Khan is so disliked in the UK that he recently told reporters that "he would be a superstar anywhere bar the UK" (he is wrong, of course) 4. Khan has now left the UK to move to the US. Now, in light of the crushing weight of evidence demolishing his claim that Amir is "beloved", he decides to state that instead he "proved" that people pay money to see Khan iced. That is quite some about-face, even for Dymi... MTF
What would you call your OWN admission that people who dislike Khan are paying to see him fight? :dunno:
I told you this in the first place. You denied it and claimed that Khan is "beloved". So beloved that people pay money to see him iced. So beloved he has had to move to the US to get away from his adoring public, citing racism as his reason. MTF
I think it's obvious that if there're people who are PAYING to see the fighter they don't like, there're much more people who're paying to see the fighter they like. What's so hard to understand about that? :dunno:
What is so hard to understand about a guy leaving the country, in a huff, because he is hated? Perhaps he doesn't realise that he is beloved? MTF :dunno:
Because he wants to make more money, clearly. Manny left the Philipinnes to fight in the US, are you gonna tell me he's not 'beloved' in Philipinnes? :dunno: Of course he is, but, just like Manny and countless fighters before him, he wants to come to the US, to prove himself at the "heart of boxing".
He should not. Marquez looked like shit at 147, at 37 at 140 coming off a one sided fight he'll look like shit again. Someone said it best earlier...Morales is next. Let's see how many old former featherweight and junior featherweight champions Khan can beat.
Do you seriously expect Khan to come out right out and say 'I moved because I want more money'?? Even Floyd Mayweather wouldn't be so open. Of course, Khan's going to say it was racism and bad English weather, and stinky English food, and the bad taste of English water..... But the reason he moved on is that he's unable to cash in on his huge popularity in England (where even his haters pay to see him fight)
Yes he should. A points loss to one of the very top p4p fighters 2 divisions above his normal weightclass should not detract from the fact he is a very good fighter. If Amir stops JMM then he should get credit.
Floyd DID in fact say he fights for money. This is indicated by the fact that he chose a nickname for himself. "Money" :atu: Khan didn't say anything about bad weather or food. He said he was subjected to racism and that "he would be a superstar in the US by now" so he left. You are spinning like a top, again, yet even Khan's few fans in the UK would tell you that your central premise, that Khan is "beloved", is bullshit. MTF
