It’s official. After 17 years, Bernard “The Executionerâ€￾ Hopkins (50-5-1, 32 KOs) and Roy “The Terminatorâ€￾ Jones Jr. (54-6, 40 KOs) will collide again. The rematch is set for April 3 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev. The bout will be broadcast live on pay-per-view beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The fighters will participate in a press tour with stops in New York and Los Angeles next Tuesday and Wednesday. Both are talking already. “I am going to end this thing between me and Roy once and for all,â€￾ said Hopkins. Jones commented, “Now I can finally terminate the Executioner once and for all.â€￾

Nobody gives a f*ck about this fight other than very very hardcore boxing fans. These twats should've fought back in 2002 when the fight was hot.

This shit is so fucking late without even a smidge of the same relevance of the original that they shouldn't even bother calling it a rematch.

:boohoo: Reed please,...Since when has Hopkins ever been in a murdering melee?

Given his style he's not destroying anything, HOWEVER, if Roy is really paranoid about handwraps, and he really should be, he'd better inspect the Hopkins camp thoroughly,..ALL THE WAY TO THE RING, given that there is more money to be had if there is a stoppage apparently.

Who could forget this:

"I'm giving some things away here but you can dip your wraps in ice-water and the tape will marinate and harden,......but it's only cheating if you get caught".

Actually I disagree, i think the only ones that give a fuck about this fight are the casual fans who still think Mike tyson can be on top of the world again if he trained, who think DLH is still something significant.
Hopkins and Jones are big names and thats all that matters to casual fans.
Hardcore fans on the other hand know this is a farce, and are the ones sickened by it.

:bears::bears: Exactly right.

I bet most of those casual fans don't even know that RJJ just got KO'd in another country.

The last full RJJ fight I saw was his first KO loss to Tarver I'm proud to say.

Roy is lost without his Ripped Fuel and his Ripped Anavar.

Bernard is lost without his hormone replacement that Joan Rivers set him up with.

I wish they would both just get lost.

I am too. I've seen every RJJ fight including the 1988 Olympics and watched the Green fight live. I won't miss what I hope is his last fight.

I want to see it. But HBO doesn't really care about it. Golden Boy has to put on their own production. I read HBO is not letting the regular PPV guys (Merchant, Lampley, Letterman, etc) call the fight.

Too bad, Merchant's comments would be probably more entertaining than this farce.

On that note, seeing as Roy is well, well past it, how much do you think he'll be getting for this fight? And perhaps for his last few fights? Anyone know?

And as for this fight, well I don't really care about it, but I'll still watch it. Why not?

I think Nard wins, although it's mainly Roy's chin that lets him down now, he is just too shot.

More than a million for sure, which is way more than what they should get paid for this joke. And yeah, Nard wins but really... It will be impossible to give him any credit. He must know deep inside that this means fuck all other than some nice money and the ability to pretend the win will mean something in terms of his standing with Roy through history.

At this point it seems Roy won't stop fighting no matter how badly he gets beat so he might as well win and get us rid of fucking Hopkins and his bullshit.

It's weird that Roy won't stop fighting.

He's not really the kind of guy that half enjoys taking a beating, it's not like he's ever been a face first slugger, that doesn't mind getting punched

It's shocking actually. He seems like the kind of fighter that would retire as soon as he lost his reflexes and started getting hit more/KO'd etc.

I wonder why he's still at it, surely he can't need the money.

But yeah, I'll be rooting for Roy. I actually used to be more of a Bernard fan at one point, but I went off quite a bit in the Calzaghe fight. He did something I really really wouldn't have expected from him, tried to bitch out and get Joe DQ'd. But, it can't be denied, his performance against Pavlik was fucking impressive, considering his age especially.
