Gotta admit, I haven't even seen DeMarco fight.

Is it worth checking out one of his fights? Does he have a realistic chance of winning?

demarco is a big lightweight, but he seems pretty ordinary

    So what's your pick?

By the way he does look like a pretty big lightweight. He's listed as 5'10, and he doesn't look overly scrawny either.

I don't think i've seen Demarco either. I've read that's he should be a decent test.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong - didn't DeMarco lose miserably to Katsidis?

no it's not wrong. Vincente Escobedo lost badly to Katsidis in his last fight.

De Marco is too slow and doesnt use his height advantage, and average across all measures except maybe heart, he seems to be pretty tough...he's not cute enough to outwit Valero or negate his usual approach, so it will come down to power and maybe stamina if De Marco can stand up to vaelor's pressure...Valero clearly has the power, but I'd give De Marco the edge in stamina having fought more longer-distance fights in recent times

DeMarco doesn´t have the chin or boxing skills to stand up to Valero.

Is the chin issue established? I have only seen him box three times (Diamond, Alfaro, Castaneda), he didnt look too shaky

Who was the dude that took the dive in the end? He hurt DeMarco and some others, too. Oh well not like Valero has the best chin himself. If those dumb Mosquera fans don´t throw trash in the ring Valero might lose the fight by KO.

I also don't think Valero will fold up like a paper plane when the going gets a little rough, either.

I can't remember the fight in great detail, but i remember being mildly impressed by De Marco when he beat Kid Diamond. Valero is a whole different animal of course, but i don't see this one being a blow-out.

valero should destroy this dude in a brutal fashion. somewhat surprised by the fact that more than a handful of folks are picking demarco to win.

Anges Adjaho? I don't recall him shaking up Demarco, so I'll have to rewatch the fight again. It's at least worth rewatching for that drama queen's act backfiring alone. His postfight interview was just as hilarious.

If Valero destroys this guy, he's for real. Not that DeMarco is anything special but he's very big and quite solid all around.

i can't really think of anyone from 130 to 135 who would beat valero. after he smokes demarco, i'd like to see him at 140 vs. maidana.

Alright, I just skimmed through the fight. Those who said Adjaho hurt DeMarco were 100% correct. Adjaho wobbled him with a combination and had him stumbling around in round eight. Though to his credit, DeMarco did recover quickly and won the remainder of the round.

It's funny I haver never heard of this Demarco guy and it seems like many have seen him and are impressed by him. :dunno:

Hell I've only seen Valero once when he fought Mosquera for the tittle in Panama years ago.

It's a hard fight for me to call because I've barely seen either guy. yet the fight is getting buzz like these two guys were well known stars. :dunno:

I guess I wanna see Valero get his 27th ko!

DeMarco is a pretty solid fighter mate and has been on TV quite a bit over the past 18 months. He's been pushed as an up and coming prospect and has shown the skills to support that push.

That said, this is a pretty big step=up in quality and regardless of what you may think of Valero; he's dangerous. Especially if you're hittable and DeMarco hasn't shown that he's Whitaker in there.

At the end of the day, two young, (almost) undefeated lightweights fighting it out SHOULD be getting hype. This is a good quality figh, IMO.

on what networks has Demarco fought on? I honestly never heard of him until this fight was getting close.

I keep hearing it is also a step up in competition for Valero which is why I'm surprised I never saw Demarco before.

From all the interviews I've seen DeMarco doesnt come across as being too confident in his chances. Valero has been doing the pressers for this match with DeMarco always a no show.

DeMarco should give Valero a tough fight but it is very hard to pick against Edwin especially when his opponent doesnt use his advantages.
