Interesting. But I must admit I am wondering what Roach is talking about. So.. Manny would not fight Floyd now because he didn't want the drug testing.. but he has now changed his mind, just a scant few days after Pac/PBF broke down? If the issue was so minor that Pac changed his mind in just a few days, what the fuck was the holdup in the first place?

Because from where I sit, it's pretty damned obvious PBF is not going to drop his drug testing stipulations as he has now carried them through to his fight with Shane. I just see no possible way that Pac/PBF could again be discussed without the exact same issue coming up.

This actually pisses me off somewhat, since the more time that passes, the less chance that Pac/PBF will happen. Yeah, PBF/Mosley is a damn good fight. Pac/Clottey is decent. So as a fan, there is a lot to get excited about, but I was FAR more excited about Pac/PBF than either fight that ended up transpiring, and here's Roach already saying "oh yeah we'll make that happen next." Grrr. If Pac or Floyd loses now, I will find Roach and break his glasses with a bottle of EPO.

I hope that Pac isn't looking past Clottey.
Make no mistake. This is a dangerous fight for Manny.

Anyway, like the thread starter said, (presuming of course that PBF would want the fight), the the drug testing hurdle will still have to be overcome.

Personally, I think that in addition to that the drug testing issue, (especially if he has a bit of a scare against SSM), there may be the possibility that PBF will play the "I just beat Mosley, so I want the lions share of the purse" card, which may also facillitate the fight not happening.

I really hope Floyd doesn't even try to compromise with the drug testing. Make that asshole do whatever other top athlete does and have the random testing up until the day of the fight.

He doesn't have the right to do that. Every other boxer doesn't have to do that (right or wrong). In Manny's whole career, he hasn't had to do random testing. Why should he start now just because Floyd says so?

whether he wins or loses against Floyd i think Mosley gets to fight Pedquaio next

he'll be easier to negotiate with...and Manny won't have a problem beating another one of Floyd's leftovers in a much more impressive fashion

Then Floyd should campaign for it to apply to everyone, not target 1 person because his dad suspects him of being on PEDs.

Floyd is the arsehole, not Manny.

And by the way, Manny offering random urine and 3 blood tests IS a compromise, a big one. You said it wasn't a compromise. It's nothing but a compromise.

Floyd made a request, Manny offered to meet him halfway - which is exactly what a compromise is. He could have flat out said no, like Leonard did to Hearns and like GBP did to Judah.

The reason I responded to your post is it's fucking absurd to call Manny an arsehole for not wanting to be bossed around by Floyd, bow to his every demand, and be forced into doing something that he hasn't had to do for any other fight in his whole career

You say "make him do what every other top athlete does". Again, wtf? You're acting like Manny is an exception, and that all other boxers have to undergo random testing, but not Manny. This is boxing, all he has to do is give a post fight piss test.

So again, refusing to bow to Floyd's entire demand, and even offering a compromise makes him an arsehole how exactly?

Roach has said in an interview Pacquaio came all the way down to 14 days prior to fight night. Mayweather walked away.:dunno:

That's why Pacquaio and Mosley victories will be better for boxing. Perhaps after a loss Mayweather will be more willing to fight.

GTFOH. A compromise isn't "I want to know when I get tested." That's not a compromise to random testing. And Floyd is looking out for Floyd, which he should do. As you can see, he'll be asking all future opponents. So if Manny has an issue with a test that the world's top athletes take, f*ck him.

Roach is lying. But what else is new. As the MEDIATOR stated, Team Pacquiao's final offer was 24 days. It was FLOYD who said 14 days.

That's a compromise. How could you possibly say it isn't?

Floyd made a request, Manny made a compromise. There's simply no other way of looking at it.

Floyd wanted random blood testing and random urine testing. Manny agreed to random urine testing and 3 blood tests, including one right after the fight. He could have either agreed to everything, or refused everything, instead he offered a compromise.

He agreed to half the demands, which is basically the definition of a compromise.

And by the way, why hasn't Floyd looked out for himself by asking all his other opponents for random testing, like Oscar and Hatton for example?

Because wanting to know when you will be given the test is not RANDOM.

Random urine is random. That's a compromise.

Even if he rejected random urine, which he didn't, and agreed to a blood test 24 days before the fight, and one right after the fight, that's STILL a fucking compromise, seeing as all that's required of him by the state commission is a post fight piss test.

And regarding something that all other top athletes do - Floyd has never undergone random testing in his entire pro career. Neither has almost every other top boxer.

You're acting like Manny is the exception, and gets special treatment by not doing random testing in his career. Random testing is not part of boxing. It's something that neither Manny OR Floyd have ever had to do.

Just because it's not something you HAVE to do doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. So hilarious. Can't believe people are defending this nonsense. "Hey, I have an idea! I'm down for the random urine but could you let me know well ahead of time when they want to draw blood? Thanks." Whatever. Screw any athlete that has an issue with more stringent testing in this era of PEDs. And screw the fans who go to great lengths to make excuses for them. And finally, f*ck a compromise. Just because boxing's practices are stuck in the stone age doesn't mean ONE fighter shouldn't do what he has to in order to protect himself.

Sure, just don't say it's not a compromise. It is, it's the very definition of a compromise.

Incidentally, seeing as Floyd is looking out for himself and the good of the sport, why didn't he ask other opponents for random testing? I was going to say why didn't he ask other top opponents like Oscar and Hatton, but that would be hypocritical. Why hasn't he asked ANYONE before? Every one of his opponents has as much chance of being on a PED as Pacquiao.

If it's something that concerns Floyd so much, why has it only cropped up near the end of his career?

Look, the spirit of a compromise is to make an offer that the other person can and ,you feel will, accept without losing face. It's to meet in the middle in a genuine effort to find a resolution. When you're at 31 and the opposing party is at 1, 24 isn't a 'compromise', it's a thumbed nose.

Anyway, I think Roach is utterly ambivalent about this fight. He'll take it if it comes or he'll leave it if it doesn't. I think he has reservations about whether Manny can win, but on the other hand relishes the challenge/pay day. I think Pac really wants it. I think Arum will block it for as long as you feasibly can.

    I liked this quote, it's 110% correct:

“But Mosley will be beaten by Floyd. Mosley does well with guys who will come at him. He has had trouble with guys who move. Mayweather wins that fight. But Mosley is a brave guy. If for any reason Mosley wins, Manny would definitely fight him. We’ll take that fight.â€￾

hut - answer me this. Is 3 blood tests, including one right after the fight, and random urine tests anytime, right up until the fight, closer to olympic style testing or is it closer to the standard boxing procedure of 1 post fight piss test?

It's closer to olympic style testing, by a pretty fucking big margin, so it's not just a compromise, but a decent compromise at that. He could have pulled a Leonard or GBP and just said "No, I'll only do what the NSAC asks".

When did I say that? Floyd is looking out for #1, as he should in a sport like boxing. Second, who the f*ck cares if he didn't ask anyone before? Why is that relevant? Maybe he didn't think THEY WERE USING! Maybe that's why he cares now?

Of course it's relevant. Even a Spanish bum recently got busted for PEDs. All Floyd's other opponents had as much chance of being on PEDs as Manny. Yet Floyd has never made such a request before, so it's clearly not something that's particularly important to him.

It's obviously not about the moral implications of using PEDs either, seeing as he uses xylocaine for his hands, a drug that's banned in every state other than Nevada.

Or maybe he didn't think they were using, Mex? Did that ever occur to you? Maybe he thinks Pac is a user? Maybe he (gasp!) knows a little more than YOU do?

Sure, maybe he thinks Manny is using more than the others. But it's still just a hunch.

If there was any real evidence, we'd know about it.

Instead, the evidence we have to go in is Floyd Sr saying Manny shouldn't be able to take hard shots from Cotto (when no steroid exists that prevents neurons getting shut down).

And the other evidence we have is Roger's marvelously insightful video, where he states that Manny is taking a 500 year old steroid that makes you bulletproof.

Yep, clearly the Mayweathers know much, much more than me

Either way, you can't call Manny an arsehole for not undergoing olympic testing, seeing as no other boxers do, including Floyd in his entire career.

I would like to see a cleaner sport by the way. But Manny agreeing would change absolutely nothing.

This fight is massive, there is a fucking huge amount of money in it. If Floyd wants to get the fight done, leave Manny no choice. Approach the NSAC, and say I'd like you to implement random testing in your rules.

If Floyd could campaign to get the NSAC to introduce stricter testing (which seems most other sports have) - he would not only be making significant change for the better in boxing, but he would leave Manny no choice. If it was part of NSAC's rules, Manny would have to accept, and the fight would be on.

Yeah, maybe. Or maybe it's even more than a hunch. Who knows?

    Really? How?
We, as in you, right? Because you really don't know what evidence they have to go on, do you?

We, as in you, right? Because you really don't know what evidence they have to go on, do you?
Now, you're clearly you're much more of an insider than they are.

How many athletes have turned down a request for OST?
A journey of a thousand miles?
Do you know that NSAC has blood and urine testing in their protocol already? They just choose not to do it, for money reasons or whatever. They just don't. And obviously the NSAC has no issues with Floyd's request or (guess what?) they would've blocked it.

I can't believe the biased and blatantly illogical take you're throwing out Kenneth. You are becoming a troll.

"Make that asshole do whatever other top athlete does and have the random testing up until the day of the fight."

NAME ONE fighter, who has to do what Floyd's demanding. ONE.

    Compromise -
    <TABLE class=luna-Ent><TBODY><TR><TD class=dnindex width=35>1

    .
    </TD><TD>

a settlement of differences by mutual concessions; an agreement reached by adjustment of conflicting or opposing claims, principles, etc., by reciprocal modification of demands.
    </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><!-- / message -->

Floyd - "I want random blood and urine testing all the way up to the fight."

Manny - "I will give random urine testing all the way up to the fight"

You are either trolling, or retarded. This is a textbook compromise.

"Second, who the f*ck cares if he didn't ask anyone before? Why is that relevant? Maybe he didn't think THEY WERE USING!"

Lets use our brain for one fucking second. Floyd is afraid of fighting Pacquiao. He has fought opponents in the past who are CHEATERS in one way or another. Did Floyd put up stringent demands against Castillo to prevent him from being a middleweight on fightnight? Did Floyd want to test Oscar De La Hoya's blood for roids for their megafight? Did Floyd insist on a referee that wouldn't allow Hatton to hold-hit?

Floyd is finally fighting someone who in his mind is on his level. There's no righteousness in turning what should've been a great fight into a discussion about drugs. Never in his life has he or any member of his fucking family been virtuous, or standing up for whats right. Say how's his uncle doing with those felony convictions? How's his dad doing with a lifetime of drug use?

What faggot looks at what Floyd is doing and says, "You know, he's never been out for anyone but himself before, I bet the Pacquiao thing is to clean up the sport and bring boxing up to the standards of other sports."

Have you been listening to him his whole career? What the fuck is wrong with you?

Biased for who, Floyd? Are you confusing me with someone else?
    Arthur Abraham.

I bet it is. And why are they compromising in the first place? Can you explain that? What is the issue with the blood test, tell me.

    What a fool you are.
