Don't forget that LEWIS pulled out of the negotiations and publicly said so. RJJ was in negotiations with Holyfield all the way thru late September of 2003. Tarver fight was the first week in November 2003. Not much turnaround time there.

Tarver had showed up at the RJJ/Ruiz post fight presser and people got on the "RJJ ducking Tarver" bandwagon after that. Then when that fight was signed, the bandwagon got a new paint job and turned into the "RJJ ducking heavyweights" bandwagon.

 

Mayorga was another one until he lost to Spinks in December 2003. Tarver being mentioned over Roy was ridiculous.

Even in retrospect,the RJJ haters can't admit that they were wrong.

What was made up? That RJJ was weight drained? I witnessed it with my own eyes at the weigh in, during the fight, and after the fight when I met RJJ.
