http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=25465 Supposedly ol Bob is putting this one together that will see Valero moving up to 140 for another test. I was absolutely impressed with Valero's last fight which was the only time I've seen him. I also agree with some of the other posters here who said he'll likely be less impressive the higher he goes up in weight. I like Valero though, he's exciting and aggressive and he's taking on real challenges in an attempt to see where he stands. How do you guys see this fight going?
Arum obviously didnt wanna put Edwin in w/Bradley, so he puts him in with Timmy's leftovers. Brilliant.
Can you really blame him? Isn't this only Valero's 2nd top tier opponent? He's doing exactly as he should be, working his way to the top slowly. Why should Arum rush him into a title fight? If he takes his time and builds him slow allowing time for improvement Bob could have another Pacquiao type guy on his hands. I know boxing is entertainment but jeez you have to understand that the other half is business. Personally I like this fight for Valero, and Tim isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
It will be his first fight at 140, can he at least try to acclimate to the weight before taking on the #1 fighter?
I don't recall him looking chubby. Plus I'm pretty sure the guy ain't lazy. Lazy people don't fight at that pace the whole fight the way he did, unless they have some extraordinary genes.
Valero should defend his title on tv a couple of times and make some decent money before moving up to take a tough non-title fight.
I'm a Valero fan. 100% KO percentage with that many fights is impressive. First 15 or so fights all ended in the 1st. Ya gotta love this guy. I hope he goes all the way.
it's not like bradley DESTROYED AND OBLITERATED Peterson. Lamont is still a tough customer for anyone at that weight.
I mentioned right after Valero beat Demarco that he would be moving up. The guy is a party animal who had a tough time making 135. If he was more disciplined he could likely stay at 135.
Or 130. Honestly I think most 130 pounders look bigger than him. He's a good fighter but moving to 140 is plain stupid. He'll be outsized. Even Bradley, as short as he is, he's a much bigger/more solidly built fighter than Valero.
