The Chavez of the 1st Meldrick Taylor fight vs the Mayweather of the Gatti fight.

Well y'all know who I'm going to pick...

I was a HUGE Chavez fan back in the day..used to try to emulate his style and everything..he was a cool, efficient and effective tough agressor who'd just keep "touching" his opponent whenever and wherever he wanted until they were broken down mentally and physically and then he'd finish them off. A cold calculated killer.

But ths is mayweather he's up against now. Floyd is too fleet of foot, too elusive and honestly...too tough to be broken down.

Mayweather would "Whitaker" Chavez but this time get the deserved decision because he hits harder than Whitaker.

Chavez would Castillo Mayweather but get the decision because he's much better than his former sparring partner.

Castillo being Chavez' sparring partner aside....do you guys really think that Chavez could beat Mayweather at 140lbs?

How's he going to hit his fleet-footed elusive foe enough to win the fight? Chavez is shorted than Castillo was with a shorter reach. he was a better fighter, sure, but again....it's a matter of styles.

Chavez wins. He'd simply expand upon the success Castillo had. Floyd's pot shots would have zero effect on Chavez, while Julio's relentless agression would eventually slow Floyd down. Floyd would def have his moments, but I see him dropping a 7-5 or 8-4 decision.

Actually it's hard to gauge how would Floyd fare against a great fighter. Problem is, he never fought one, except an used up Oscar, where he was less than impressive (Marquez doesn't count, he was so out of his natural weightclass). Stylistically this fight should favor Floyd, but he never fought anyone near as good as JCC, so i have to go with Chavez.

Not enough punching power for Chavez in this fight. Mayweather by 116-112 outboxing.

And this Castillo business is nonsense, Floyd beat him easily the next time out.

And that was at 135. The 140 Floyd Slystaff is talking about is much bigger than Chavez was, and much stronger than the Floyd in the 1st Castillo fight.
