Floyd in with a fighter that's faster than himself...but will it matter?

Taylor had faster hands than Floyd...but Floyd is more elusive. Would be interesting...but gimme Floyd by decision or possible late stoppage.

Taylor's best shot is a one-off fight. If they fought repeatedly, Mayweather would progressively improve.

As it stands, I would still like Mayweather, but it would be by very close --- some will say, controversial --- decision. Mayweather is undoubtedly the classier fighter, but Taylor's speed & activity would present dreadful problems.

Taylor by UD too many punches for Mayweather to deal with it...Mayweather will roll/block/avoid plenty...but will be overwhelm at times. He will look like the loser at the end of the fight, of course some Mayweather nuthuggers will say Pretty Boy landed the harder/cleaner punches..even if it only one or two a round...

I don't think Mayweather has ever been cut in his career. Asinine statement.

I'd go with Floyd by a TKO.

Yes. Mayweather has been known to request "best of 5 series" in his contracts.

You are right...Floyd would have dreadful problems with Taylors speed, athleticism and overall fighting ability.

You know, you might be right. I think if there's a style that would keep Floyd awake at nights it might well be Taylor's combination of volume and blazing speed.

With the obvious implicity being that Taylor would land more on Floyd than anyone else ever has. Engage the grey matter before insulting people....

Taylor's too hittable though and combine that with Floyd's known accuracy (and defense) and I think Floyd keeps Taylor "honest" and doesn't get hit as much as a normal fighter would from Taylor's busy lightening fast strikes...

Very good chance of that too. Be an interesting one, no doubt. Taylor's bravery and willingness to fire through incoming would be a big asset for him here though. If I was bookie here I'd make Floyd a MARGINAL favourite. 4/5 vs 7/4, something along those lines.

It could go either way, but at those odds I'll take Taylor. :fightme:

Basically a pick em. Sly I dont have a problem w/you picking Floyd by decision, but I'd say the chances of him stopping Taylor are slim. Mel's handspeed, and activity level would be HIGHLY problematic for Floyd. I think its a close fight either way.
