Sorry, but that is revisionist. He beat Kevin Johnson, who was in shape and was undefeated. Nobody seems to be picking Vitali to win too easily, and when he does, it's all "oh he fought nobody"...:dunno: Arreola and Johnson were undefeated American prospects and they both got beat, I would be surprised if Vitali dropped 2 rounds over both fights.
Dunno the exact number but it was more than 2 million and by far and away Valuevs biggest payday... Valuev himself wanted it, Sauerland wanted it, but it looks like King has other plans. Vitali wanted to fight him and made a very reasonable offer, so the Valuev argument is not the best one. But still, even if not every name in Azazel's list is better than Sosnowski at this point, this is a shitty fight and there has to be a better guy available than him.
Shut up already and put that :notallthere: in your ass. You're a bigger nuthugger than me... :: I love that guy but that fight is completely pointless. Stop defending that crap, . You WANNA see him wasting his time at fucking 38 against that clown??? Is it true however, that there are very few names actually available, maybe Boytsov, maybe Chagaev, maybe Thompson... Some guys are locked up, but if u try you could find one. Vitali had the date and the place and they didn't put much effort after Valuev fell through.
Not especially....but he already whipped Peter, Arreloa, Johnson, Gomez....Haye is fighting Ruiz and Chambers is fighting Wlad. Valuev and Chagaev are both coming off losses and will want tune-up's anyways. Virchis is probably a better fight, but its the Gomez loss that taints that. Vitali vs Sosnowski in Germany will make both of them a lot of money, while Vitali waits for Povetkin to get some experience, new ankles, whatever and while he waits for Haye to come through against Ruiz.
very few picked either Arreola or Johnson to give Vitaly any sort of trouble....easy fights for Vitaly.
Well you could say there are Boytsov, Solis and some others who would made for more interesting fights, but then their promotors probably wouldn't want to feed them to the wolfes that early. And the better names we mentioned here, might come of losses and i don't even think Virchis would stand more of a chance against Vitali but none of those losses (especially the Gomez loss) tops what Sosnowski did against Zuri Freaking Lawrence! :nono:
Sosnowski is Polish, TV money from Germany and Poland will be in the tens of millions of viewers, the joint will be sold out and Vitali stays sharp for Haye. Think about it....who did Lewis and Holyfield fight in the run up to their first fight? Mavrovic and Vaugn Bean. And they both went the distance. This is a payday, marking time fight, made as it is in the absence of any real alternative. And Vitali has fought 4 of the best available dudes in the last 2 years, so...let's give him this one.
Nah, his final offer to Valuev was 2 millions http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=25309 His first offer was 1 million, the same ammount he offered Johnson and Sonoski, that's how much he wasnted to fight Valuev
Mavrovic was the shit back then. He was huge on germn television since RTL used to show his fights. Him vs. Vitali would have been huge. He was also a good fighter and would have absolutely killed Sosnowski. Vaugh Bean would probably last the distance against a bulldozer but that's not the point. If Vitali sells out the arena against Sosnowski he could sell it out by taking a dump because nobody in Germany knows that guy. I have no clue what the money from Poland will be since i dunno how well known he is over there, but if they both make money good for them. I also agree that Vitalis opposition was good given the division's state as of late and you could argue he has earned a gimme. I as one of his bigger fans just don't wanna see him in one.
Well Valuev just lost, what do you expect a 50:50 split or something??? It's not like they have a huge PPV cut to take from, here...
I don't know how anyone can bitch over the Klit's competition. There is no one else. If they ever fight each other, that will be the best opponent for each of them. That being said, Lewis didn't fight Vitaly in 2002 but wiped him out in 2003. It's not like he left without fighting him. They didn't want to put Wlad in with LL either.

Dympeople please,.. you and the Irishman can't hurt each other without hurting me, please reconsider.
Ah yes, 10 years ago......why not try 15 years ago.....when the fat old guys weren't heavyweight contenders, they were heavyweight champeens!! Ah yes....an uninitiated southpaw former lightheavyweight vs a fat, old, tired bible basher. Those were the glory days, don't you think.
