pacquiao beating clottey seems like a foregone conclusion at this point.

    anyone giving clottey a shot?

at best, i see clottey doing enough to lose a close controversial decision. the guy hardly ever dominates against top opposition and it would be no different this saturday.

i'd have to say, i'd be overwhelmingly surprised if clottey somehow manages to win this.

Clottey always finds a way to lose. Hard to give him a chance.

Hell naw I ain't giving Clottey a chance in hell to win the fight. He is there to only get a payday. Arum got way too much money invested in a Pac/PBF/Shane fight. If Manny loses there goes all that bread. Clottey knows this as well. I'll Holla 5000

Clottey Seems VERY Happy JUST to B in the Midst of this Type of Spectacle...HOPEFULLY, he'll STILL Fight as Hard as he Customarily Does, but U have to @ Least WONDER if he Will...

But even if Clottey DOES Fight to his Potential, he AIN'T Winning...Like Teddy Atlas was Saying, 1 Guy is QUICKER, Throws MORE Punches & Hits HARDER...The Other Guy CATCHES More than he Pitches...

    EASY Fight to Predict...

The ONLY Mystery is HOW Pac will Break Thru Clottey's Guard...It would SEEM that More BODYPUNCHING would B the Recipe, but Pac's NEVER Shown a Round by Round COMMITTMENT to Body Punching...

I think Clottey will give him problems early on and then fade or choke like he often does and drop a decision.

    Tough fight for Pac.
Clottey is big, strong, has a tight defense & will not fold early.
I would be more surprised to see SSM beat PBF

Clottey's TALLER than Pac, but he HASN'T Been Significantly BIGGER than Manny, During Fight Week...Pac has the LARGER Hands Too, for what it's Worth...

Granted, the FIGHTNIGHT Weight will B Most Important

i agree that pac will win, but i'm still curious to see how he'll manage to break through clottey's guard.

clottey's like an inconsistent version of quartey w/ a better chin. if he can consistently land his jab and his well timed right hands, then he should be competitive.

one thing that pac fans should be concerned about is clottey's size. he can easily compete at 154 and has in the past. he doesnt have much of a KO power, but its winky'esque. he'll hit hard enough to discourage.

I'm suspecting that in the ring Clottey will look bigger. I also suspect that he's stronger.
I hope Manny's sparring has been good...We'll see

I think the fight will be as easy or as hard as Pacquiao wants it to be.

I think he can outbox clottey all night just by jumping in landing shots and jumping out all day.

But he likes to trade and test his own chin against these bigger 147 guys. I think he will try to KO Clottey at some point in the fight but I'm not sure he can do it.

Clottey himself has to pick up the pace otherwise Pacquiao will dominate even on the scorecards.

I think Clottey's chances to win are only by KO and I don't see that happening unless Pacquiao gets careless.

Clottey was on the verge of stopping Baldomir, TKO'ed Judah, Pacquaio says Clottey beat Cotto and lost close decision to Margarito with injured hands, saying nothing about Margarito's hands.

This guy is a strong contender in the welterweight division. Nobody has an easy fight with Clottey. If he pins Pacquaio to the ropes, he can do alot of damage to slow down Pacquaio for the later rounds.

I've read somewhere Clottey is planning coming in at 155 fight night not to give too much on the speed area, while foregoing some size.

I'd be SHOCKED if Pacquaio stopped Clottey.

I hope Clottey uses the green light to use drugs in this fight curteousy of a deal done between Arum and the Texas commision, and comes in absolutely jacked with chemicals,..and beats the fuck out of him,.. pulling the rug out from beneath everybody would be awesome.

Nobody was talking any of this drug stuff prior to Mayweather. The only proven abuser here is the Xylocaine user. And when it comes down to it Manny Pac is fighting March 13th and without the obstacle course.

:crafty: ,......Well, I'd be hoping and praying for Mosely to win, because the nightmare is due to continue if he doesn't,.. the spotlight will again become so intense it ought to make alot of posters fry and squirm for a second round, to the extent that I think Pacquiao will have to retire promptly, or be quickly set up against a pay gagged victim who's just greatful for the oppurtunity. I wouldn't be suprised if about 5 minutes after Fraud is awarded a decision, do HBO announce that Arum has reached a deal for Pacquiao's next fight.

Negotiations will never be fast and easy between Fraud and Pedquiao. One guy effectively dragged NSAC and Boxing thru the gutter with the allegations, the other is being doubted for not going through with the obstacle course. Nobody is going to accept any less than these 2 fighting next should they win their upcoming matches.

I hope Clottey doesn't decide that not-being-knocked out ("no, he never hurt me") while not committing enough to output constitutes a moral victory. I can imagine him throwing low double digits punches per round while keeping a high guard, allowing Pac to push the action, and then complaining at the end of a decision loss that he landed all the effective punches.

I think Pac wins, it's hard to say otherwise.

I think the key for Clottey is... how does he fare as the fight drags on? It may be hard for him to get his head around where he stands with respect to Pac given Pac's demolition of other good welterweights and excellent fighters.

If Clottey finds he is still around & not badly hurt halfway through the fight, then I believe his chances of taking rounds and getting into some sort of groove are very good. He is rugged, has good defense, and is a reasonable puncher when he is active (which is too little).

Unfortunately, all this adds up to Pac getting a decision even if Clottey has a good fight, since Clottey will get outworked even if he does some damage. He would have to get uncharacteristically aggressive to change that, and if you look at the Cotto fight you can see that even when the fight is his for the taking he doesn't get aggressive.

Anything can happen so Clottey beating Pacman shouldn't come as a huge shock for anyone. But I don't see it happening. Would be nice

I expect this to be a tough fight for Pac, but I thought Hatton and Cotto would be too.

Clottey is too committed to self-preservation to be KO'ed early I'd say

you know Clottey.. he is the kinda fighter I hate

he ALWAYS does just enough to lose.. or I should say "does not enough to win"

he is one that I'l lbe watching going "THROW MORE PUNCHES"

it's like he ALWAYS when doing good and is in a fight.. just does not step it up enough!

he is durable and strong but I think that is going to highlight pac.. Pac will swarm and just bust him up and stop him in 7 I think

Agreed, and from what we've heard so far that Pacquiao is going to be working on breaking Clottey down. He's not going to try to blitz the bigger guy.
