I wont bet against PBF but this Pacman is looking extremely strong and fast. He's doing things that really hasnt been done before. It will be very interesting to see what happens when he lands a power punch on PBF. Trust me he will.

PBF would not have turned down the Pacquiao fight (or insisted on terms that Pacquiao wouldn't agree to) if he thought he could beat him. Isn't this true?

Based on some of the replies here I can only assume that Floyd Mayweather was right, he is bigger than boxing. After numerous passed tests by Manny and no proof whatsoever many biasbeat.com members have decided that what they think is a big cranium is proof enough. Forget the fact that Floyd (not the commission) suddenly decided he wanted to change the rules of boxing (ironic it comes at the point where he would of had to face his toughest opponent ever). And I'm curious again as to how this all started........

    Oh, yeah, now I remember

i give pacquaio the benefit of the doubt that he is clean. but lets face it, the evidence people suspicious of him should point to is not in his cranium size or alleged growth. it is the fact that after getting shook up by featherweights like Hussien, Morales and Marquez repeatedly he is now unphased by flush shots from 155 to 160 pound men like Cotto and Clottey and his ability to throw punches non stop while bouncing around the ring

    Interesting facts:

    Manny Pacquiao:
    Started career at 106lbs

    Floyd Mayweather:
    Started career at 130lbs

Manny went from 106 to 145, a gain of 39lbs over 15 years
Floyd went from 130 to 150, a gain of 20lbs over 11 years

Manny was 16 years old at the start of his career
Floyd was 19 years old at the start of his career

Manny fought at 122lbs when he was 19
Floyd fought at 130lbs when he was 19

    Floyd fights at 147lbs now
    Manny fights at 145lbs now

If you're to compare the two at 19 years old until now, Manny has gained only 6lbs more than Floyd

Maybe Manny was just having a hard time making 130-135. Guys do sometimes have a better chin when they are not weight drained. It's not that crazy. I don't care to argue with anyone about whether Pac is on something. I just decided to give him the benifit of the doubt.

The people going on about his head are crazy. Manny just has a giant melon. It's always been huge. It's just rounder now. People act like he's got Valuev brow or something.

I don't think roids can give you a chin, but they give you stamina for sure.

    That is definately true.

That being said, I read an article about Pac before the Cotto fight. he only sleeps about 4 hrs a night. He just has an insane naturally high energy level.

I remember reading how Micheal Jordan would stay up days at a time between playoff games, and even going to Atlantic City gambling overnight (while he's torching the Knicks averaging over 30pts a night against them).

Magic Johnson (during the 93 Finals),said he could not comprehend Jordans energy level and said its one of the reasons it set him apart from him and Bird.

This type of trait is not uncommon among transcendental type athletes. Pac is one (in my opinion of course).

It's crazy how much energy they can have after sleeping so little. I sleep less than 6 hours and I'm half out of it no matter how much caffeine I take.

I remember Jerry Rice saying he hardly slept at all before the Super Bowl. Then he went out and won the MVP.

yes HGH and EPO CAN improve punch resistance as it helps improve not only your workout sessions so you can bounce back from a good shot faster but it also strengthens key muscles groups that are used for stability and shock absorption better thereby easing the tension on your central nervous system when you take shots...Why else do you see boxers/MMA fighters/wrestlers doing neck excercises?

    Yep.
A lot of the time a guy's punch resistence improves as they gain weight if they were draining themselves to make weight.

Today's big head stuff will be tomorrows classic fightbeat comedy piece.

HGH simply has more deficits than advantages for a boxer as far as I've read. The percieved advantages are unproven.

All the "evidence" that is put forward that he's on drugs is better explained by not appealing to HGH as the reason.

The only things for me that are suspicious are his stamina, & refusal to take the tests. Neither of those are enough for me to discredit the guy.

Why does it concern the experts of the world anti doping agency so much that they've not only prohibited the use of HGH as a ped, but also developed a specialised screening test in order to catch athletes who use it, due to thier evidence that it can give a significant edge in enhancing physical performance?..

hgh is usually used in conjunction with steroids. hgh by itself wont due much other than what has already been said by pascal's wager.

if an athlete uses hgh, they probably also use anabolic steroids with a mask.

the anti-doping agency is bullshit and a waste of time.

you are allowed a fail, and are able to appeal and keep results quiet depending on who you are.

    Interesting.

How do anabolic steroids help boxers winner by choke?

Do you think anabolic steroids would account for what people perceive as Pacs unnatural abilities?

Do steroid counteract the deficits of HGH, or somehow make HGH more beneficial for a boxer?

HGH is just one of many substances being used by athletes to try and gain some sort of physical advantage. Whether or not it can, on its own, create an advantage for a boxer is really not something I am that interested in. Keep in mind also that most articles you read about the use of HGH will not cover its abuse or its effects when used in high doses which would never be applied in a therapeutic environment. My guess is that the jury is still out (scientifically speaking) on exactly what HGH can do when abused long term by a professional athlete who is using it only to try and gain some sort of advantageous physical change.

Cyclists have been using EPO for some time to their great advantage. Stamina is increased dramatically as muscles can oxygenate better for long periods of time. All kinds of athletes have been using anabolic steroids for decades to cut recovery times, train harder, build muscle faster and to a greater degree than otherwise possible. As I have stated in other posts, I believe that intelligent use of steroids can indeed increase a fighters strength, speed, endurance, and even ability to take a punch. There is no disputing the advantage of these drugs to athletes; the evidence is legion.

Whether or not throwing HGH in the mix yields yet more benefit is neither here nor there. You act as if you are somehow confused by any apparent benefit the aforementioned substances may provide. They provide plenty; that is why professional athletes use them. Just because webmd.com doesn't give you stats and how HGH can be used to unnaturally alter the bodies of professional fighters doesn't mean it has no helpful effect. There is a reason it is used by athletes. Also, if you are interested, you can find dozens of articles on how HGH has apparently improved athlete performance in almost every sport - although you will likely not get much in terms of "scientific" data since it might be hard to get people to participate in a study wherein the use of the drug being studied would cause them to get banned from their sport.

See Shawne Meriman, Bill Romanowski for starters on HGH.

Now in Manny's case, understand that he could be on virtually ANYTHING, because he is NEVER adequately tested. For his last fight in Texas NO TESTING AT ALL was done. He could have been on cocaine and morphine all fight and he would have nothing to worry about in terms of being caught. So combinations of drugs are a distinct possibility. Of course that is speculation.... but then again, how would we ever know?

What irks me to no end about the situation in boxing is that it is simply a repeat of other disastrous and embarrassing naive policies of the past. Remember Tony Mandarich? There was a time when little or no testing was done in college football, and so average players became gods until they got to the NFL and off the juice. So many great baseball records of the past are down the shitter, not because someone better came along, but because someone inferior with tons of dope came along. That will never be repaired IMO, as far as baseball is concerned. A chunk of the sport and its legacy is lost forever due to a refusal to properly test athletes.

Is this really what we fans want for boxing? To have our own Tony Mandarich or Mark McGwire or Lyle Alzado? Guys who give the sport the middle finger and juice day and night for years so they can accomplish things they could never otherwise accomplish, break records, and become hall of famers... and in the process take a shit on the sport? Once the damage is done to the sport, and to its fighters whose lives and careers and legacies are permanently damaged by a cheat crushing them, it's too fucking late. Why do we have to wait for that one guy with no conscience and an insatiable, reckless desire to win at all costs to come along and fuck everything up before we do something about it? Why is it always the huge, high-profile, disturbing scandal that finally motivates those in charge to clean the sport up?

How about for once we avoid the scandal and stop these guys in their tracks before they do even more damage? Change the rules in Nevada for starters and then set up PBF/Pac there. Do it now, and let the chips fall where they may. If that ain't gonna happen, then unfortunately it's up to guys like Floyd Mayweather (and it pains me to say it) to write this shit in their fight contracts since the commissions don't give fuck who cheats and who gets hurt. Worst of all, if nothing is done then Pac sends a message to all the other fighters out there - pack as many chems as you can into that body and become a hero, because the commissions don't care, your adoring fans will give you a pass, and you won't get caught, even if you're the most popular fighter in the sport.

Again Outlander is way off base.

The INSINUATION that Pacquaio is on something is all over your post. Your concern for proper testing is admirable. Have you ALWAYS been this concerned about testing in the 90's or 00's? If not WHY NOW?

It seems the boxing world was a perfect place before Manny Pacquaio moved up and started tearing through the divisions and collecting a record SEVEN titles.

It was a perfect place when Mayweather was fighting ALL 40 opponents in his entire career. It was a perfect place even after Mosley, Jones Jr, Vargas used PED's.

What if all Pacquiao is doing for his stamina is sleeping in an altitude chamber like some cyclists use. Would that be considered cheating, or no different than training in Big Bear?

That's where we look to the experts as the ultimate bellweather on such an issue Lib four Lib,... Unfortunately, Pacquiao blew millions and millions of dollars into thier eyes, in an explosive reverse pulsation, like that of a cash-squid.

So what are you saying? That current testing is fine, let's move forward? Or are you saying that if someone proposes a good idea we should ignore it because we weren't thinking about it before? F*cking clown.
