It's much easier to criticize someone else's list than make my own.

Roy Jones Jr deserves a mention. He did a TONNE of moving in most of his fights, often exaggerated, unnecessary movements such as bending at the waist, posing, shuffling etc...and often finished far fresher, even in relatively close distance fights. I mean, anyone who plays a basketball game and then goes into the late rounds with Eric Lucas clearly does not have energy deficiencies.

Obviously, once his stopped sipping Essence of Cockerel Semen, his powers seemed to wane, but age and the weight issues probably played a role too.

That was teh problem. Moving down from heavyweight at that age. he was never the same. He should have retired after the first Tarver fight...since it was apparent then that the old Roy had gone forever.

Nah man, Roy's speed brought every opponents output down to a snails pace. Roy's fights probably had the lowest average mutual punch output of any all time great in history.

Not saying his stamina wasn't good, but I don't think it stands up to the other guys mentioed.

I agree with that, I think the weight loss effected him badly.

But Im very glad he stayed on since it allowed us to put a few things in perspective regarding his abilities and place in history. Too many groupies would think he was the greatest fighter of all time etc if we hadn't seen what came next (ie that his chin was far from iron and that behind the speed & reflex' his boxing ability was pretty average).

There are a ton of little guys, say 115 and below, that would be on the list if they are counted.

But according to Mike since he is a slow starter he doesn't make the list, I guess that makes Margarito not on the list as well...

    suck iT

from cyberzone..the first site i found:

For twelve rounds Tapia repeatedly made funny faces at Romero, cha-chad around the ring like a psycho, mugged to the crowd, and yelled into the camera between rounds, "I love you Albuquerque!"
When Tapia decided to stop and fight, his punches were mostly left hooks to the body. Romero threw more punches, landed more punches, and landed the harder punches, yet lost on all three scorecards, 116-112, 116-112 and 115-113. This scribe scored the fight 115-113 for Romero, but each round was so close, a draw would've been the best decision.
After the fight, Romero tried to be gracious, but he told Merchant, "I thought I won. There were a few things that maybe I could have done a little bit better. That's the way it goes. It didn't come out like it should have, but more power to him. He's the guy now, so I'm going to go back and see what I'm going to do."

While off-topic, I'd rather defend my card than listen to people pick their favorite boxer and try to argue he belongs on a stamina list when he clearly doesn't. Btw, Tapia could.

Good stamina usually makes for excellent fights,.. it's likely my favourite fighters to watch will always have good stamina,.. currently,.. Paul Williams and Dmitry Pirog fit that mould.

Rewarding conservative bitch fighters as being stamina gods aint right,.. or anybody who deliberately haults the action illegally,..either by running or holding,.. Bernard Hopkins is not worthy to be put on a 'stamina' list,.. it's more likely people are using his reputation as a gym rat for putting him on the list but so what?, most fighters who are around the top of thier division do work extremely hard in the gym.
