I cant favor Manny over The Hawk. Pryor was leaps and bounds above Hatton, and Cotto... while those guys are relatively predicatble and walked in staright lines, Pryor was anything but. Pryor was awkward, with quick feet, quick hands, and I cant see Manny avoiding his right hand. It'd be a hellacious war, Manny would def give Pryor hell, but in the end I see Pryor winning out... maybe by stoppage.
I'd slightly favor Pacquaio in a gruelling fight, with two flash knockdowns clinching the decision for him
who said it's a foregone conclusion? if it were, the match-up would not have been proposed. what surprises me is that people act like Pryor hits harder or is faster than guys like ODH, Hatton or Cotto.
Some people distinguish between stoppages & ten-counts, others don't. For mine, De La Hoya was knocked out just the once. What happened with Pacquiao was a TKO, not a KO.
I'm almost with you.. I see TKOs and KOs as the same....but what happed to De la Hoya was RTD. That's a slight distinction IMO...
Well, yes, there you go. There are more than two ways to distinguish them. Some would include all of those as KO's, I guess. Some would differentiate between KO's & TKO's (like myself), but pay no mind to RTD, & some would distinguish that as different again. The original point being is it is not incorrect for someone to say, "Oscar De La Hoya was only ever knocked out once."
For example...I believe that it is correct to say that Ali was never knocked out. He retired in the corner against Holmes. "However" Jones' victory over Richard Hall can rightly be classified with other knockouts...even though Hall wasn't down for a ten count.
Pryor doesn't hit harder than Cotto or De La Hoya.... but he is faster than all 3 guys you mention....by a lot...
