It would be close either way. But I'll say Marquez takes a split decision. He was technically better than Morales, and wouldn't fight him on his terms. And I don't see him getting KO'ed. 7-5, 6-5-1, 5-7 decision :fightme:
Too close to call. Marquez would win about six rounds setting the more aggressive Morales up for crisp, sharp counter-punching, & Morales would do about the same with his savagery & pace. Very tight decision.
It's bound to be damn close either way. Morales was never QUITE as great at 126 as he was at 122 for my money, so I'll go with Marquez by split decision. Prime for prime, I think any trilogy between Marquez-Barrea-Morales is split though. 3 great fighters, almost equally so.
Morales wouldn't have been drawn into a brawl with Marquez the way he was against Barrera and as such would have won the boxing match with his better jab, longer reach and more power. Would have been close though..
Actually it took Marquez far too long to get himself noticed, clamour for the big fights, and fight in more exciting fashion. Marquez has always been good, but he used to be more boring. There's a reason why Morales was far more popular, for example.
