I'd love it if RJJ could win Saturday. Hopkins, the stubborn ass that he is, would never live it down. He'd make excuse after excuse, and in the end humiliate himself further. I'd love to see it. He acts like he's got it all figured out - here's hoping he loses.

    I'm exactly the opposite.

Roy Jones fanatic (until he showed extreme cowardice in the 3rd Tarver fight) and now I not only want Hopkins to win....but want Hopkins to brutalize him.

In fact...it helps Roy Legacy better if Hopkins destroys him, but it'll show that Jones only lost to Tarver, Johnson and Calzaghe because he was shot. In his prime he had betaen the likes of Hopkins and Toney.

Why would anyone want that proven coward to beat a true warrior.

I think a Hopkins' defeat hurts his legacy marginally more than it helps Jones'. For that reason (in the hope that two great fighters finish their career in a way that doesn't distort their legacies during the relevant parts of their career) I hope B-Hop wins handily.

it would be funny for Hopkins to have to sit on not one but two losses to Roy for the rest of his life.

But for all of that, Roy could've just retired after the Green fight, and force B-Hop to live with a scoreboard that reads "Jones 1, Hopkins 0."

I won't be rooting for Roy on Saturday. Not to say I'm rooting for Hopkins either - I'm not watching the fight at all, and would much rather see both of them just go away once and forever.

I'll be rooting for Hopkins, but like Jake I most likely won't be watching the fight at all.

I've always been a much bigger Hopkins fan then a Roy fan, but this fight means fuck-all.

As a matter of fact I'm having a hard time thinking of a less relevant high profile rematch in boxing history. Maybe De La Hoya/Chavez. :dunno:

Why wouldn't you criticize a guy that let you down by QUITTING a fight that he could have won if he tried?

It's the FACT that I was a huge fan why I now hate the sucker. Fucker had his chance to get revenge on Tarver and all he did was smile through the entire ring entrance, pre-fight instructions, fight and then CELEBRATE when he lasted the distance.

    Disgraceful behaviour.

    Fuck'im....:flip:

    Maybe it wasn't faked?

COnsider that this is the same fighter who received a damaged shoulder after being thrown to the ground by Echols..and basically fought teh rest of a fight with one arm and still went on to knock the man out.

Out of the 394386593496578349560334843856233484 things I hate about this fight, probably the one I hate the most is that this old fools won't knock each other out, which means that by the end, their decrepit-selves will proclaim they won no matter what.

But yeah, I do hope for a clear Roy win.

Consider that the very best fighters in the history have quit. Hopkins knew he couldn't win so he pulled cheating tactics. When a fighter is liked, it is called intelligence. When he is not (or he is European) it is a bitch move

Dude...call it whatever you like. It's your prerogative.

Hopkins could have quit vs Echols (Echols would have been DQ'd) but he chose to continue.

    I don't see Hopkins as a quitter.

    I love sell-out threads,..

But on to the topic,.. there is no worse of feind in boxing, no worse a hideous scumbag than Bernard Hopkins in every, concieveable way possible, and I say that without any exaggeration,.. I would be ecstatic if Roy were to win,.. absolutely delighted, Hopkins is my most hated fighter in boxing history, I take immense pleasure in his demise,.. I do like Roy, even though he's a bit delusional, egotistical and like most fighters is happily content to exploit boxing at times, but there's still a likeable aspect about him, I'm very sure at his core, that he's not evil or sociopathic like Hopkins,..I do factor in that he's "country" too,...that helps, not as country as Jermaine Taylor, nowhere near as country as Jermaine Taylor,.. but country enough. As far as American people go, I think that black people from the country are better than black people from the city,.. but it's the opposite for whites, country whites are worse than city whites,..

Why call Hopkins a "true warrior" when he only took the fight because Roy is shot??

I tried to establish a line of causation down at Freddies Place, but I failed, and was forced to toss the case.

To tell the truth, I've been a Hopkins fan for years, but I seriously lost a lot of respect for him in the Calzaghe fight.

He tried to bitch out of that fight and get Calzaghe DQ'd, clear as day. To me that's worse than quitting. Quitting you at least accept the loss, but take the easy way out. Trying to get your opponent DQ'd is fucking low, you try to quit with a win.

:dunno: To this day I'm still a bit confused why you even want to build a case in favor for Pedquiao?... I cant detect much of a connection unless it's about a consistent and unrelenting attack on Fraud,.. which is not a bad thing,.. but,.. trying to clear and rebuild Pedquiao, is a 'two wrongs dont make a right' kinda picadilly avenue, taking two cards from the community chest when you're only allowed to pince one between the pointer and thumb.

It's a,.. massive generalisation,.. massive,.. TV may be part of that,.. Southern extreme religious conservative rednecks from the country,.. and then on the otherhand,.. we have ghetto hoods and gangsters, and poppin' caps etc,.. so yeah,.. black people are better off in the country,..white people are better off in the city, Obama should begin the transition.

It's a funny thought. A criminal simplification. But funny. In fact, the interesting part about it is the question of how (or why) you (and many others I suspect) have this impression.

Why are we robbed of a window into the nice black folks in the city and good white people in the country? The ones that we can be sure exist and who are not an exception to a rule?
