Haye vs the Klitschko's

I think that Haye should fight one of the Klitschko's next. I don't consider him to be a real heavyweight champ. He stands a decent chance against Wlad because of Wlad's chin but Vitaly absolutely annihaletes him.

 

He doesn't beat either in my opinion. He would have had a punchers chance against younger Wlad, but I see no way he gets past the jab with the current version.

 

haye likes to pretend as if he's elusive, but he's quite hittable. plus, his stamina is suspect. either klitschko bros would stop him.

 

I'd give Haye about a 30% chance of beating Wlad, at best. He has enough power and speed with that right hand to cause Wlad damage, but he has to find a way to circumvent a very sizeable height and reach disadvantage as well as one of the best HW jabs ever. It's a tough ask, but with Wlad's chin, it's possible.

As for Vitali, I think Haye is in big trouble. Stylistically, Vitali is a nightmare for Haye. He proved in the Lewis fight that he can take big shots and still fight on, and he would be MASSIVE compared to David in terms of his physical attributes. I think he'd jab Haye's head off, and stop him in the mid-late round once Haye has knackered himself. I wouldn't make Haye any less than a 6 or 7 to one underdog in that fight.

What I will say, though, is that he is the only present HW who has any chance against either brother.

I really want Haye to stun the heavyweight division and beat both brothers, but, I just can't see him defeating either of them. They are too big, too strong and too awkward. Obviously Haye has a chance of knocking them out, but they won't get drawn into making those mistakes to allow Haye to get through. They would frustrate Haye to the point where he makes one too many errors and eventually Haye would get pummeled to the canvas and the ref stops the fight.

 

Haye vs Wlad. The electricity of the crowd would be enormous early. Wlad would come out of the corner holding his ears as if he was afraid they would drop while Haye would run like a motherfucker. Then Wlad starts to jab and land it. Haye tries a couple of hayemakers so far out that he has no chance of landing and he knows it. After about three rounds the crowd realizes that nothing is going to happen. Wlad keeps jabbing and winning rounds but is too afraid to throw the right hand while Haye is afraid to actually attack. After seven dreadful rounds Wlad finally unlocks his cross or the left hook and blasts Haye out.

Vitali vs Haye. Vitali comes out and starts approaching Haye, trying to take control with his arm slaps. Haye is scared shitless and moves away. As Vitali presses the action, Haye will land his counter right hand and gets Vitali's attention but can't hurt him. Vitali finds Haye every now and then and in nine rounds or so, all but one wn by Vitali, he stops the fatigued Haye after a mildly exciting bout

He has a chance vs Wlad, simply because Wlad has shown that he can be KO'd and Haye has decent pop. Still Wlad should be too big, rangy and powerful for him.

Vitali, however, would (as you said) annihilate him.

 

One thing which I wanted people to discuss: how powerful is Haye when his back is to the ropes?

I give Haye a little more credit than I did before,.. but no way in the world will I go along with the sickening British hype, it is full on dick sucking,.. have the british ever been so sexually aroused by a fighter in recent memory?... I cant remember any other recieving the same amount of obsession,.. strange considering he's a half-caste Turk, who lives in Cyprus.

So does Klitschko, who has fought in Vegas, New York, London, Berlin, Kiev, Cologne, Hamburg.....who speaks English, German, Russian, Ukrainian, who is 2 time champ, who has an Olympic Gold, something like 45+ knockouts....I only wish he had a cruiser title, then he would be the complete affleet.

 

Haye's no "great Black Hope".

First of all to be a great black hope in the eyes of the media, you'd have to be a black American.

Also in Britain, they don't care whether a heavyweight is black or white as long as he's their boy. A white British fighter would get more hype in Britain.

 

I dont know. AMir Khan and Haye have suffered devestating high profile losses and have been dropped more often than David Beckham but were both doing PPV and were manoevured into title fights with little effort. Joe Calzaghe, as discussed, was better than either but took WAY more stick and got WAY LESS plaudits.

 

I keep trying to understand the mindset,.. as I can certainly detect what you have,.. but why does it seem that so many white's resent them because of thier colour?.. Im wondering if it's just due to a stupid, extremely conservative point of view where they cannot tolerate change, like just say replacing a usually "shining white knight" in action hero movie with say,.. an East-indian all of a sudden,.. do they become unsettled and think,..."It ....aint.........right"... why?..... I don't like Haye's chances against either of them. His defense isn't especially great as he gets hit with too many jabs in some of the fights I've seen him in. That really doesn't bode well for him against either Klitschko, especially Wlad who has a great jab. His chin isn't too good. He has the proverbial puncher's chance, especially against Wlad, he'll look to land that big right hand, but I don't think he will. Wlad is taller and rangier and controls the distance very well. Haye has that patient, big-man, don't throw that many shots, look for the bomb type style, but against Wlad his best chance may be to just press the fight and hope to catch him with something big. If not he might just get picked apart on the outside with jabs and straight rights.
