Bute is pretty legit. Good fighter. He's like a poor man's Calzaghe, that puts more meat on his punches. There's even a slight physical resemblance.
that wasn't quite as bad as peden-campbell 1, but nevertheless, a dumb move a fighter should never do unless they have a hagler'esque chin.
Actually when he makes an effort, he has some power in his left hand and right hook. You don't knock Chris Eubank down with 1 punch if you don't have power. His style changed, and became more about volume than power. Obviously Bute makes more of an effort to punch hard though.
Who cares. The bum woulda got caught by that uppercut anyway. Bute was smart though. Shot it twice to the body, then the fool Miranda was expecting it, so Lucian switched it to the head. Good riddance Miranda.
bute vs. hopkins would be one-sided. plus, i think it's safe to say that no one wants to see hopkins fight again. if bute doesnt want to wait around for the other tourney to finish, he should move up to 175 and fight pascal or dawson.
i'd pick him over kessler, froch, dirrell, green and abraham. not too sure about ward but only because i'm not too sure how good ward really is.
Prior to the Super 6 I'd have favored him over all of them except Kessler. Now I favor him vs all of them.
And we know how good Bute is? Ward beat Miranda and Kessler. Bute beat Miranda, Andrade and Bika. Not exactly much more depth to Bute´s resume.
I was going to say exactly the same thing, all but Ward, and only because I'm not sure just how good Ward is. Ward looked GOOD Vs Kessler, no doubt at all, but it's just one fight and honestly - despite me calling Kessler overrated even before the Joe fight - he looked pretty fucking shit. I don't know whether he took Ward lightly, or the loss has affected his confidence, but he looked crap.
How do you think a Ward fight would go? Like I said in the above post, Ward looked proper good against Kessler, but that is just one fight.
Also, at Hopkins for shamelessly ducking Dawson. No money or legacy in a Dawson fight but he calls out the less acclaimed Bute. ::
I can't believe they tried to pass Pavlik off as undefeated. "Undefeated in the middleweight division, 36 victories etc etc" and didn't even mention the loss at any point ::
I would have bet with Vegas odds maybe but no one was offering. I didn't bet ANY money on that fight. I did pick Clottey though.
